- We study a sample of 883 sources detected in a deep Very Large Array survey at 1.4GHz in the Extended Chandra Deep Field South. This paper focuses on the identification of their optical and infrared (IR) counterparts. We use a likelihood-ratio technique that is particularly useful when dealing with deep optical images to minimize the number of spurious associations. We find a reliable counterpart for 95% of our radio sources. Most of the counterparts (74%) are detected at optical wavelengths, but there is a significant fraction (21%) that are only detectable in the IR. Combining newly acquired optical spectra with data from the literature, we are able to assign a redshift to 81% of the identified radio sources (37% spectroscopic). We also investigate the X-ray properties of the radio sources using the Chandra 4Ms and 250ks observations. In particular, we use a stacking technique to derive the average properties of radio objects undetected in the Chandra images. The results of our analysis are collected in a new catalog containing the position of the optical/IR counterpart, the redshift information, and the X-ray fluxes. It is the deepest multi-wavelength catalog of radio sources, which will be used for future study of this galaxy population.

- In studying this region Purgathofer (1964AnWie..26...37P) [the SIMBAD numbering], Hoag et al.(1961PUSNO..17..343H), and Dombrovskii and Hagen-Thorn (1964TrLen..20...75D) each set up their own numbering system; subsequent authors used one or another of those or variants or combinations. The region covered is 2 degrees in diameter, centered at: (2000) RA 04 04 53.28 dec +62 19 20.7. This is about 15' west of the cluster, the position of HD 25290.

- The catalogue of stars with high-proper motions (more than 0.04"/year) has been compiled using original definitions from catalogue FONAK 1.1, the data of catalogues Hipparcos, Tycho-2, CMC (STAR 11), PPM, NPM1, NPM2, UCAC2 (up to +40 degrees in declination and going up to +52 degrees in some areas), GCVS, XZ80Q, Pul-3, PUL2, NLTT, LHS, Lowell Proper Motion, Bruce Proper Motion as well as the data of about 770 other published sources. The list consist of 514100 such stars with limiting magnitude 16 (companions for multiple systems up to 17) in a declination zone from -2.5 to +90 degrees. Besides astrometric parameters (equatorial coordinates, proper motions, estimations of stars magnitudes) the catalogue includes some astrophysical characteristics (magnitudes in UBVRIJHK system, radial velocities, spectra, luminosity class, metallicity; flags of multiple system, of variable star and other). For convenience of usage original numbers of stars from different catalogues the author's lists of stars and basic sources are given too. At present the catalogue includes codes of 63 catalogues and author's lists of stars. Cross index list is given by a file of 493200 stars arranged on right ascension. Star information is recorded in a digital integer form with one line. Thus maximum amount of star numbers from catalogues and author's lists does not exceed 10 (if more, the number of next lines for star is increased by unit). Beginning the second line there are blanks in the column declination if star information is recorded in several lines. Cross index list is regularly supplemented.

- A very sensitive X-ray investigation of the giant H II region N11 in the Large Megallanic Cloud was performed using the Chandra X-ray Observatory. The 300ks observation reveals X-ray sources with luminosities down to 10^32^erg/s, increasing the number of known point sources in the field by more than a factor of five. Among these detections are 13 massive stars (3 compact groups of massive stars, 9 O stars, and one early B star) with log (L_X_/L_BOL_)~-6.5 to -7, which may suggest that they are highly magnetic or colliding-wind systems. On the other hand, the stacked signal for regions corresponding to undetected O stars yields log (L_X_/L_BOL_)~-7.3, i.e., an emission level comparable to similar Galactic stars despite the lower metallicity. Other point sources coincide with 11 foreground stars, 6 late-B/A stars in N11, and many background objects. This observation also uncovers the extent and detailed spatial properties of the soft, diffuse emission regions, but the presence of some hotter plasma in their spectra suggests contamination by the unresolved stellar population.

- We report observations of a deep near-ultraviolet (NUV) survey of the Kepler field made in 2012 with the Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX) Complete All-Sky UV Survey Extension (CAUSE). The GALEX-CAUSE Kepler survey (GCK) covers 104 square degrees of the Kepler field and reaches a limiting magnitude of NUV~=22.6 at 3{sigma}. Analysis of the GCK survey has yielded a catalog of 660928 NUV sources, of which 475164 are cross-matched with stars in the Kepler Input Catalog. Approximately 327 of 451 confirmed exoplanet host stars and 2614 of 4696 candidate exoplanet host stars identified by Kepler have NUV photometry in the GCK survey. The GCK catalog should enable the identification and characterization of UV-excess stars in the Kepler field (young solar-type and low-mass stars, chromospherically active binaries, white dwarfs, horizontal branch stars, etc.), and elucidation of various astrophysics problems related to the stars and planetary systems in the Kepler field.

- We have obtained a deep 8 field XMM-Newton mosaic of M33 covering the galaxy out to the D_25_ isophote and beyond to a limiting 0.2-4.5keV unabsorbed flux of 5x10^-16^erg/cm2/s (L>4x10^34^erg/s at the distance of M33). These data allow complete coverage of the galaxy with high sensitivity to soft sources such as diffuse hot gas and supernova remnants (SNRs). Here, we describe the methods we used to identify and characterize 1296 point sources in the 8 fields. We compare our resulting source catalog to the literature, note variable sources, construct hardness ratios, classify soft sources, analyze the source density profile, and measure the X-ray luminosity function (XLF). As a result of the large effective area of XMM-Newton below 1keV, the survey contains many new soft X-ray sources. The radial source density profile and XLF for the sources suggest that only ~15% of the 391 bright sources with L>3.6x10^35^erg/s are likely to be associated with M33, and more than a third of these are known SNRs. The log(N)-log(S) distribution, when corrected for background contamination, is a relatively flat power law with a differential index of 1.5, which suggests that many of the other M33 sources may be high-mass X-ray binaries. Finally, we note the discovery of an interesting new transient X-ray source, which we are unable to classify.

- In the course of other work I have obtained complete identifications for a problematic list of late-type stars by Dolidze (1975AbaOB..47....3D). The charts were used to make the identifications. Since numerous substantial errors were found that have propagated elsewhere in the literature, it was thought useful to publish the list separately. The corrections allow linkage of the stars to other catalogues in the visible and infrared. This complements a second similar list of late-M stars by Dolidze (Dolidze, 1975AbaOB..47..171D, Skiff, 1997IBVS.4417....1S).

- We present photometric redshifts and associated probability distributions for all detected sources in the Extended Chandra Deep Field South (ECDFS). This work makes use of the most up-to-date data from the Cosmic Assembly Near-IR Deep Legacy Survey (CANDELS) and the Taiwan ECDFS Near-Infrared Survey (TENIS) in addition to other data. We also revisit multi-wavelength counterparts for published X-ray sources from the 4Ms CDFS and 250ks ECDFS surveys, finding reliable counterparts for 1207 out of 1259 sources (~96%). Data used for photometric redshifts include intermediate-band photometry deblended using the TFIT method, which is used for the first time in this work. Photometric redshifts for X-ray source counterparts are based on a new library of active galactic nuclei/galaxy hybrid templates appropriate for the faint X-ray population in the CDFS. Photometric redshift accuracy for normal galaxies is 0.010 and for X-ray sources is 0.014 and outlier fractions are 4% and 5.2%, respectively. The results within the CANDELS coverage area are even better, as demonstrated both by spectroscopic comparison and by galaxy-pair statistics. Intermediate-band photometry, even if shallow, is valuable when combined with deep broadband photometry. For best accuracy, templates must include emission lines.

- We present the multi-wavelength properties and catalogue of the 15{mu}m and 1.4GHz radio sources detected in the European Large Area ISO Survey (ELAIS) areas N1 and N2. Using the optical data from the Wide Field Survey we use a likelihood ratio method to search for the counterparts of the 1056 and 691 sources detected at 15{mu}m and 1.4GHz, respectively, down to flux limits of S_15_=0.5mJy and S_1.4_GHz=0.135mJy.

- We use photometric redshifts derived from new u-band through 4.5{mu}m Spitzer IRAC photometry in the 4.8deg^2^ of the XMM-LSS field to construct surface density maps in the redshift range of 0.1-1.5. Our density maps show evidence for large-scale structure in the form of filaments spanning several tens of megaparsecs. Using these maps, we identify 339 overdensities that our simulated light-cone analysis suggests are likely associated with dark matter halos with masses, M_halo_, log(M_halo_/M_{sun}_)>13.7. From this list of overdensities we recover 43 of 70 known X-ray-detected and spectroscopically confirmed clusters. The missing X-ray clusters are largely at lower redshifts and lower masses than our target log(M_halo_/M_{sun}_)>13.7. The bulk of the overdensities are compact, but a quarter show extended morphologies that include likely projection effects, clusters embedded in apparent filaments, and at least one potential cluster merger (at z~1.28). The strongest overdensity in our highest-redshift slice (at z~1.5) shows a compact red galaxy core, potentially implying a massive evolved cluster.
