- The results of a CO line survey in central cluster galaxies with cooling flows are presented. Cold molecular gas is detected with the IRAM 30m telescope, through CO(1-0) and CO(2-1) emission lines in 6-10 among 32 galaxies. The corresponding gas masses are between 3x10^8^ and 4x10^10^M_{sun}. These results are in agreement with recent CO detections by Edge (2001MNRAS.328..762E). A strong correlation between the CO emission and the H{alpha} luminosity is also confirmed. Cold gas exists in the center of cooling flow clusters and these detections may be interpreted as evidence of the long searched for very cold residual of the hot cooling gas.

- Galaxies in Hickson Compact Groups (HCGs) are believed to experience morphological transformations from blue, star-forming galaxies to red, early-type galaxies. Galaxies with a high ratio between the luminosities of the warm H_2_ to the 7.7micron PAH emission (so-called Molecular Hydrogen Emission Galaxies, MOHEGs) are predominantly in an intermediate phase, the green valley. Their enhanced H_2_ emission suggests that the molecular gas is affected in the transition. We study the properties of the molecular gas traced by CO in galaxies in HCGs with measured warm H_2_ emission in order to look for evidence of the perturbations affecting the warm H_2_ in the kinematics, morphology and mass of the molecular gas. We observed the CO(1-0) emission of 20 galaxies in HCGs and complemented our sample with 11 CO(1-0) spectra from the literature. Most of the galaxies have measured} warm H_2_ emission, and 14 of them are classified as MOHEGs. We mapped some of these galaxies in order to search for extra-galactic CO emission. We analyzed the molecular gas mass derived from CO(1-0), MH_2_, and its kinematics, and then compared it to the mass of the warm molecular gas, the stellar mass and star formation rate (SFR). Our results are the following. (i) The mass ratio between the CO-derived and the warm H_2_ molecular gas is in the same range as found for field galaxies. (ii) Some of the galaxies, mostly MOHEGs, have very broad CO linewidths of up to 1000km/s in the central pointing. The line shapes are irregular and show various components. (iii) In the mapped objects we found asymmetric distributions of the cold molecular gas. (iv) The star formation efficiency (=SFR/MH_2_) of galaxies in HCGs is very similar to isolated galaxies. No significant difference between MOHEGs and non-MOHEGs or between early-type and spiral galaxies has been found. In a few objects the SFE is significantly lower, indicating the presence of molecular gas that is not actively forming stars. (v) The molecular gas masses, MH_2_, and ratios MH_2_/Lk are lower in MOHEGs (predominantly early-types) than in non-MOHEGs (predominantly spirals). This trend remains when comparing MOHEGs and non-MOHEGs of the same morphological type. We found differences in the molecular gas properties of MOHEGs that support the view that they have suffered (or are presently suffering) perturbations of the molecular gas, as well as a decrease in the molecular gas content and associated SFR. Higher resolution observations of the molecular gas are needed to shed light on the nature of these perturbations and their cause.

- In this paper, we present a set of photometric observations in 15 colors of stars in the Landolt SA95 field with the BATC (Beijing-Arizona-Taipei-Connecticut) system. The wavelengths covered by the system range from 300nm to 1000nm. Visual magnitudes of the stars studied in the field are from the 10th to 20th mag. The observational methodology and the data reduction procedures are described. The relationships between the BATC intermediate-band system and the Landolt UBVRI broad band system are obtained. A catalogue of the photometry has been produced which contains the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of 3613 stars.

- We use a large, multicolor mosaic of HST WFPC2 images to measure the colors and morphologies of 194 spectroscopically confirmed members of the rich galaxy cluster CL 1358+62 at z=0.33. We study the color-magnitude (CM) relation as a function of radius in the cluster to a limit of 4.6' from the center, equivalent to 1.6h^-1^_50_Mpc. The intrinsic scatter in the rest-frame B-V CM relation of the elliptical galaxies is very small, ~0.022mag. The CM relation of the ellipticals does not depend significantly on the distance from the cluster center. In contrast, the CM relation for the S0 galaxies does depend on radius: the S0's in the core follow a CM relation similar to that of the ellipticals, but at large radii (R>0.7h^-1^_50_Mpc) the S0's are systematically bluer and the scatter in the CM relation approximately doubles, to ~0.043mag. The blueing of the S0's at large radii is significant at the 95% confidence level. These results imply that the S0 galaxies in the outer parts of the cluster have formed stars more recently than the S0's in the inner parts.

- In order to investigate the nature of dwarf low surface brightness (LSB) galaxies we have undertaken a deep B- and I-band CCD survey of a 14-deg^2^ strip in the Virgo Cluster and applied a Fourier convolution technique to explore its dwarf galaxy population down to a central surface brightness of ~26Bmag/arcsec^2^ and a total absolute B magnitude of ~-10. In this paper we carry out an analysis of their morphology, (B-I) colours and atomic hydrogen content.

- Table 1 describes the photometric properties (R-band magnitude, effective radius, surface brightness, a_4_, ellipticity) of all 35 Coma cluster galaxies, which are investigated spectroscopically in this work. Besides the galaxy numbers given by Godwin et al. (1983, Cat. <VII/42>, GMP83), we also list the NGC/IC numbers as well as Dressler's numbers given in Dressler et al. (1987ApJ...313...42D, D87). Additionally the galaxy type as well as there distance to the clusters center are given. Table 5 to Table 12 (photom.dat) give the results from surface brightness and isophotal shape analysis (local surface brightness, ellipticity, position angle and Fourier coefficients along the major axis) for 8 galaxies of the sample derived from Kron Cousins R band photometry. Table 13 to Table 47 (kinema.dat) give spatially resolved kinematic parameter (v, sigma, H_3_, H_4_) for all 35 galaxies while in Table 48 to Table 82 (indice1.dat and indice2.dat) we list the radial profiles of the measured line indices (H_beta_, Mg, Fe, NaD) of these galaxies. Table 4 contains the results from the comparison of our mean data within the circular standard aperture (see paper) with the mean values given by Joergensen (1999MNRAS.306..607J, J99).

- Based on Paper I of this series (Mehlert et al., 2000, Cat. <J/A+AS/141/449>), we derive central values and logarithmic gradients for the Hbeta, Mg and Fe indices of 35 early-type galaxies in the Coma cluster. We find that pure elliptical galaxies have on average slightly higher velocity dispersions, lower Hbeta, and higher metallic line-strengths than galaxies with disks (S0).

- In this paper we study the stellar populations of 356 bright, Mr<=-19, Coma cluster members located in a 2{deg} field centred on the cluster core using Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Data Release 7 (DR7) spectroscopy. We find ~31 per cent of the sample have significant emission in H{beta}, [OIII]5007, H{alpha} or [NII]6585, due to star formation or active galactic nuclei (AGN)/LINER activity. The remaining portion of the sample we describe as passive or quiescent.

- We describe a far-infrared survey of the Coma cluster and the galaxy filament it resides within. Our survey covers an area of ~150 deg^2^ observed by Herschel H-ATLAS (Herschel Astrophysical Terahertz Large Area Survey) in five bands at 100, 160, 250, 350 and 500{mu}m. The SDSS spectroscopic survey (m_r_<=17.8) is used to define an area (within the virial radius) and redshift selected (4268<v<9700km/s) sample of 744 Coma cluster galaxies - the Coma Cluster Catalogue. For comparison, we also define a sample of 951 galaxies in the connecting filament - the Coma Filament Catalogue. The optical positions and parameters are used to define appropriate apertures to measure each galaxy's far-infrared emission. We have detected 99 of 744 (13 per cent) and 422 of 951 (44 per cent) of the cluster and filament galaxies in the SPIRE 250um band. We consider the relative detection rates of galaxies of different morphological types finding that it is only the S0/Sa population that shows clear differences between the cluster and filament. We find no differences between the dust masses and temperatures of cluster and filament galaxies with the exception of early-type galaxy dust temperatures, which are significantly hotter in the cluster than in the filament (X-ray heating?). From a chemical evolution model, we find no evidence for different evolutionary processes (gas loss or infall) between galaxies in the cluster and filament.

- We present deep 1.4GHz Very Large Array radio continuum observations of two ~0.5{deg}^2^ fields in the Coma cluster of galaxies. The two fields, "Coma 1" and "Coma 3", correspond to the cluster core and southwest infall region and were selected on account of abundant preexisting multiwavelength data. In their most sensitive regions the radio data reach 22uJy rms per 4.4" beam, sufficient to detect (at 5{sigma}) Coma member galaxies with L_1.4GHz_=1.3x10^20^W/Hz. The full catalog of radio detections is presented herein and consists of 1030 sources detected at >=5{sigma}, 628 of which are within the combined Coma 1 and Coma 3 area. We also provide optical identifications of the radio sources using data from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. The depth of the radio observations allows us to detect active galactic nucleus in cluster elliptical galaxies with M_r_<-20.5 (AB magnitudes), including radio detections for all cluster ellipticals with M_r_<-21.8. At fainter optical magnitudes (-20.5<M_r_~<-19), the radio sources are associated with star-forming galaxies with star formation rates as low as 0.1M_{sun}_/yr.
