- Recent progress in the seismic interpretation of field {beta} Cep stars has resulted in improvements of the physical description in the stellar structure and evolution model computations of massive stars. Further asteroseismic constraints can be obtained from studying ensembles of stars in a young open cluster, which all have similar age, distance, and chemical composition. We present an observational asteroseismology study based on the discovery of numerous multi-periodic and mono-periodic B stars in the open cluster NGC 884. We describe a thorough investigation of the pulsational properties of all B-type stars in the cluster. Overall, our detailed frequency analysis resulted in 115 detected frequencies in 65 stars. We found 36 mono-periodic, 16 bi-periodic, 10 tri-periodic, and 2 quadru-periodic stars and one star with nine independent frequencies. We also derived the amplitudes and phases of all detected frequencies in the U, B, V, and I filter, if available. We achieved unambiguous identifications of the mode degree for 12 of the detected frequencies in nine of the pulsators. Imposing the identified degrees and measured frequencies of the radial, dipole, and quadrupole modes of five pulsators led to a seismic cluster age estimate of log(age/yr)=7.12-7.28 from a comparison with stellar models. Our study is a proof-of-concept for and illustrates the current status of ensemble asteroseismology of a young open cluster.

- The multiplicity properties of massive stars are one of the important outstanding issues in stellar evolution. Quantifying the binary statistics of all evolutionary phases is essential to paint a complete picture of how and when massive stars interact with their companions, and to determine the consequences of these interactions. We investigate the multiplicity of an almost complete census of red supergiant stars (RSGs) in NGC 330, a young massive cluster in the Small Magellanic Cloud. Using a combination of multi-epoch HARPS and MUSE spectroscopy, we estimate radial velocities and assess the kinematic and multiplicity properties of 15 RSGs in NGC 330. Radial velocities are estimated to better than +/-100m/s for the HARPS data. The line-of-sight velocity dispersion for the cluster is estimated as {sigma}_1D_=3.20^+0.69^_-0.52_km/s. When virial equilibrium is assumed, the dynamical mass of the cluster is log(M_dyn_/M_{sun}_)=5.20+/-0.17, in good agreement with previous upper limits. We detect significant radial velocity variability in our multi-epoch observations and distinguish between variations caused by atmospheric activity and those caused by binarity. The binary fraction of NGC 330 RSGs is estimated by comparisons with simulated observations of systems with a range of input binary fractions. In this way, we account for observational biases and estimate the intrinsic binary fraction for RSGs in NGC 330 as f_RSG_=0.3+/-0.1 for orbital periods in the range 2.3<logP[days]<4.3, with q>0.1. Using the distribution of the luminosities of the RSG population, we estimate the age of NGC 330 to be 45+/-5Myr and estimate a red straggler fraction of 50%. We estimate the binary fraction of RSGs in NGC 330 and conclude that it appears to be lower than that of main-sequence massive stars, which is expected because interactions between an RSG and a companion are assumed to effectively strip the RSG envelope.

- We present a multi-wavelength analysis of the young open cluster NGC 2362; UBVRcIc CCD photometric observations, together with available data in the Chandra database, near-infrared data from the Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS), and recently published H{alpha} spectroscopy were used to get information about the evolutionary stage of the cluster and the main physical properties of its stellar content. Cluster membership is estimated for every individual star by means of zero-age main sequence (ZAMS) and isochrone fitting. The cluster is confirmed to host a rich population of pre-main-sequence (PMS) objects and to contain a large number of X-ray-emitting stars, which reach from the PMS members of GK spectral type up to the most luminous OB main-sequence (MS) members. The PMS cluster members show no significant age spread, and the comparison to both PMS and post-MS isochrones suggests an homogeneous age for all cluster members. The analysis allows us to assess the validity of currently used PMS evolutionary models and supports the suggestion of a well-defined positive correlation of the X-ray emission from PMS stars with their bolometric luminosity. Clear differences are found between the X-ray activity properties of MS and PMS cluster members, both in the relation between X-ray luminosity and bolometric luminosity, and in spectral properties as well.

- Using new UBVRI H{alpha} CCD photometric observations and the archival infrared and X-ray data, we have carried out a multiwavelength study of a Perseus arm young open star cluster NGC 7419. Using XMM-Newton observations, we found several X-ray sources in the cluster region but none of the Herbig Ae/Be stars is detected in X-rays.

- We have conducted a deep (15~<r~<23 ), 20 night survey for transiting planets in the intermediate-age (~550Myr) open cluster M37 (NGC 2099) using the Megacam wide-field mosaic CCD camera on the 6.5m MMT. In this paper we present a catalog and light curves for 1445 variable stars; 1430 (99%) of these are new discoveries. We have discovered 20 new eclipsing binaries and 31 new short-period (P<1day) pulsating stars. The bulk of the variables are most likely rapidly rotating young low-mass stars, including a substantial number (>~500) that are members of the cluster. We identify and analyze five particularly interesting individual variables, including a previously identified variable that we suggest is probably a hybrid gamma Doradus/delta Scuti pulsator, two possible quiescent cataclysmic variables, a detached eclipsing binary (DEB) with at least one gamma Doradus pulsating component (only the second such variable found in an eclipsing binary), and a low-mass (M_P_~M_S~0.6M_{sun}_ DEB that is a possible cluster member. A preliminary determination of the physical parameters for the DEB+gamma Doradus system yields M_P_=1.58+/-0.04M_{sun}_, M_S_=1.58+/-0.04M_{sun}_, R_P_=1.39+/-0.07R_{sun}_, and R_S_=1.38+/-0.07R_{sun}_.

- We examine the photometric variability of stars in the M 67 field using Kepler/K2-Campaign-5 light curves. Variabilities and periods were determined for 639 stars. The mean photometric period of 28 single Sun-like members stars in M 67 is 23.4+/-1.2d. This corresponds to a gyro-age of 3.7+/-0.3Gyr, assuming the periods can be associated with rotation. The intrinsic variabilities of the solar analogues are greater than the Sun's variability, as measure from VIRGO fluxes. We also find evidence that the single cluster members have a different distribution of variability than the binary members.

- In this paper, we continue the release of high-level data products from the multiyear photometric survey collected at the 67/92cm Schmidt Telescope in Asiago. The primary goal of the survey is to discover and to characterize variable objects and exoplanetary transits in four fields containing five nearby open clusters spanning a broad range of ages. This second paper releases a photometric catalogue, in five photometric bands, of the solar-age, solar-metallicity open cluster M 67 (NGC 2682). Proper motions are derived comparing the positions observed in 2013 at the Asiago's Schmidt Telescope with those extracted from Wide Field Imager@2.2m Max-Planck-Gesellschaft/European Southern Obseratory images in 2000. We also analyse the variable sources within M 67. We detected 68 variables, 43 of which are new detection. Variable periods and proper-motion memberships of a large majority of sources in our catalogue are improved with respect to previous releases. The entire catalogue will be available in electronic format. Besides the general interest on an improved catalogue, this work will be particularly useful because of: (1) the imminent release of Kepler/K2 Campaign-5 data of this clusters, for which our catalogue will provide an excellent, high spatial resolution input list, and (2) characterization of the M 67 stars which are targets of intense High Accuracy Radial velocity Planet Searcher and High Accuracy Radial velocity Planet Searcher for the Northern hemisphere radial-velocity surveys for planet search.

- We present a list of 63 new open clusters that were found in the frame of the project Milky Way Star Clusters (MWSC). The target list was compiled as density enhancements using coordinates and proper motions from the 2MAst and UCAC4 catalogues. For confirmed clusters we determined a homogeneous set of astrophysical parameters such as membership, angular radii of the main morphological parts, proper motion, distance, reddening, age, tidal parameters, all based on 2MAst data.

- Spitzer IRAC observations and stellar photometric catalogs are presented for the Massive Young star-forming complex Study in the Infrared and X-ray (MYStIX). MYStIX is a multiwavelength census of young stellar members of 20 nearby (d<4kpc), Galactic, star-forming regions that contain at least one O star. All regions have data available from the Spitzer Space Telescope consisting of GLIMPSE or other published catalogs for 11 regions and results of our own photometric analysis of archival data for the remaining 9 regions. This paper seeks to construct deep and reliable catalogs of sources from the Spitzer images. Mid-infrared study of these regions faces challenges of crowding and high nebulosity. Our new catalogs typically contain fainter sources than existing Spitzer studies, which improves the match rate to Chandra X-ray sources that are likely to be young stars, but increases the possibility of spurious point-source detections, especially peaks in the nebulosity. IRAC color-color diagrams help distinguish spurious detections of nebular polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon emission from the infrared excess associated with dusty disks around young stars. The distributions of sources on the mid-infrared color-magnitude and color-color diagrams reflect differences between MYStIX regions, including astrophysical effects such as stellar ages and disk evolution.
