- Title:
- Classification of RASS optical counterparts
- Short Name:
- J/AJ/133/2495
- Date:
- 21 Oct 2021
- Publisher:
- CDS
- Description:
- Previous work (Rutledge et al., 2000ApJS..131..335R) statistically identified 5492 optical counterparts, with >~90% confidence, from among the ~18000 X-ray sources appearing in the ROSAT All-Sky Survey Bright Source Catalog (RASS BSC; Voges et al. 1999, Cat. <IX/10>). Using low-resolution spectra in the wavelength range 3700-7900{AA}, we present spectroscopic classifications for 195 of these counterparts which have not previously been classified. Of these 195, we find 168 individual stars of F, G, K, or M type, 6 individual stars of unknown type, 6 double stars, 6 AGNs or galaxies, and 7 unclassifiable objects; the spectra of the 2 remaining objects were saturated.

- Dwarf K and M stars at low latitudes
- Short Name:
- J/AJ/80/972
- Date:
- 21 Oct 2021
- Publisher:
- CDS
- Description:
- We report 100 dwarf K and M stars found on objective-prism plates taken at low galactic latitudes, mostly in the southern sky. Most stars were recognized from the strength of the sodium D lines, and the majority have known proper motions of 0.1" or more per annum. Ninety-nine of these stars lack previous spectral classification; one lacks previous observation of line emission. Most have below the limits of the DM charts, and for there we provide identification charts.

- FON Astrographic Catalogue Southern Part (FONAC-S)
- Short Name:
- I/346
- Date:
- 21 Oct 2021
- Publisher:
- CDS
- Description:
- The catalog of positions and B-magnitudes of stars and galaxies of the southern sky (from -20{deg} to +2{deg}) was created as a part of the FON (Russian abbreviation Photographic Sky Survey) project at the Ulugh Beg Astronomical Institute (UBAI) of the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences. The data accumulated in the Photographic Archive of the UBAI were used. The total number of processed plates is 1963. Astronegatives were digitized with Epson Expression 10000XL scanners in the 1200 dpi scanning mode. The majority of plates have a size of 30x30cm. The catalog contains the data on 13 413 268 stars and galaxies with B<=17.5m at the epoch of 1984.97. The coordinates of stars and galaxies were obtained in the Tycho-2 reference system, and B-magnitudes were determined in the system of photoelectric standards. The mean internal errors of the catalog are {sigma}_RA,DE_=0.23" and {sigma}_B_=0.15mag for all objects or {sigma}_RA,DE_=0.085" and {sigma}_B_=0.054mag for the objects in the B=7-14mag range. The convergence between the catalog and Tycho-2 is characterized by the following values: 0.042" and 0.16m. The mean-square difference in coordinates from the catalog and from UCAC-4 is {sigma}_RA,DE_=0.26" (9 892 697 objects, or 73.75% of stars and galaxies, were identified).

- FON Astrographic Catalogue, Version 3.0

- Description:
- The catalog of equatorial coordinates {alpha} and {delta} and B-magnitudes of stars of the northern sky (from -4{deg} to +90{deg}) was created as a part of the FON project at the Main Astronomical Observatory of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The data accumulated in the Joint Digital Archive of the Ukrainian Virtual Observatory were used. The total number of processed plates is 2260. Astronegatives were digitized with Microtek ScanMaker 9800XL TMA and Epson Expression 10000XL scanners in the 1200 dpi scanning mode. The majority of plates have a size of 30x30cm (13000x13000-pixels). The catalog contains the data on 19451751 stars and galaxies with B<=16.5m at the epoch of 1988.1. The coordinates of stars and galaxies were obtained in the Tycho-2 reference system, and B-magnitudes were determined in the system of photoelectric standards. The mean internal errors of the catalog are {simag}_RA,DE_=0.23" and {sigma}_B_=0.14mag for all objects or {simag}_RA,DE_=0.10" and {sigma}_B_=0.07mag for stars in the B=7-14mag range. The convergence between the catalog and Tycho-2 is characterized by the following values: 0.06" and 0.15m. The mean-square difference in coordinates from the catalog and from UCAC-4 is {simag}_RA,DE_= 0.30" (18 742 932 objects, or 96.36% of stars and galaxies, were cross-identified).

- Galaxies in and near the cluster A1185
- Short Name:
- J/AZh/76/83
- Date:
- 21 Oct 2021
- Publisher:
- CDS
- Description:
- Results of optical, radio, and submillimeter studies of the nearby galaxy cluster A1185 are presented. Coordinates have been obtained for 115 galaxies that are either cluster members or field galaxies in the direction of A1185. Radio spectra for a number of galaxies in this cluster have been derived using observations on the RATAN-600 radio telescope at 2.7,3.9,7.6, and 31 cm, together with data published in other study. At the cluster center some of the galaxies have either flat or inverted spectra.

- Kazarian galaxies catalog
- Short Name:
- VII/254
- Date:
- 21 Oct 2021
- Publisher:
- CDS
- Description:
- The entire KG (KG) catalog is presented which combines extensive new measurements of their optical parameters with a literature and database search. The measurements were made using images extracted from the STScI Digitized Sky Survey (DSS) of Jpg(blue), Fpg(red) and Ipg(NIR) band photographic sky survey plates obtained by the Palomar and UK Schmidt telescopes. We provide accurate coordinates, morphological type, spectral and activity classes, blue apparent diameters, axial ratios, position angles, red, blue and NIR apparent magnitudes, as well as counts of neighboring objects in a circle of radius 50kpc from centers of KG. Special attention was paid to the individual descriptions of the galaxies in the original Kazarian lists, which clarified many cases of misidentifications of the objects, particularly among interacting systems. The total number of individual Kazarian objects in the database is now 706. We also include the redshifts which are now available for 404 galaxies, and the 2MASS infrared magnitudes for 598 KG. The database also includes extensive notes, which summarize information about the membership of KG in different systems of galaxies, and about revised activity classes and redshifts. An atlas of several interesting subclasses of KG is also presented.

- Late-type M dwarfs towards the SGP
- Short Name:
- J/AJ/83/1090
- Date:
- 21 Oct 2021
- Publisher:
- CDS
- Description:
- A catalog, including finding charts, is presented which contains 282 faint stars of spectral type M3 and later, located in an area of 173 square degrees near the South Galactic Pole. The catalog is based on a spectroscopic survey undertaken with the Curtis Schmidt at CTIO and provides a finding list of M stars free of any possible kinematic bias. The majority of these stars are expected to be dwarfs. To the same limiting magnitude, the observed surface density is comparable to that of the faint M stars in the direction of the North Galactic Pole, named 273 over 190 square degrees.
