- We present an analysis of optical spectroscopy and infrared aperture photometry of more than 100 HII complexes in nine galaxies. Spectra obtained with the 6-m telescope of Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences are used along with archival data from Spitzer and several ground-based telescopes to infer a strength of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) emission, age, properties of the UV radiation field, and metallicity of studied HII complexes. Physical properties (age, radiation field parameters, metallicity) are related to the F_8_/F_24_ ratio used as a proxy for the PAH abundance in order to reveal factors that may influence the PAH evolution in HII complexes. The well-known correlation between the F_8_/F_24_ ratio and metallicity is confirmed in the studied complexes. The infrared flux ratio also correlates with the [Oiii]{lambda}5007/H{beta} ratio which is often considered as an indicator of the radiation field hardness, but this correlation seems to be a mere reflection of a correlation between [Oiii]{lambda}5007/H{beta} and metallicity. In separate metallicity bins, the F_8_/F_24_ ratio is found to correlate with an age of an Hii complex, which is estimated from the equivalent width of H{beta} line. The correlation is positive for low-metallicity complexes and negative for high-metallicity complexes. Analysing various mechanisms of PAH formation and destruction in the context of found correlations, we suggest that PAH abundance is likely altered by the UV radiation within HII complexes, but this is not necessarily due to their destruction. If PAHs can also form in Hii complexes due to some processes like aromatization, photodestruction, shattering and sputtering of very small grains, the net F_8_/F_24_ ratio is determined by a balance between all these processes that can be different at different metallicities.

- Our aims is to create a catalog of images of HII galaxies and their individual star-formation regions in order to study the distribution of the gas emission and their underlying stellar continuum. We have used H{beta} narrow-band images of 43 selected HII galaxies obtained at ESO NTT 3.58m telescope using the SUSI2 camera. Surface photometric H{beta} fluxes and equivalent widths for all objects and star-formation regions are presented in this catalog.

- Studies of interacting galaxies have shown that dwarf galaxies may be produced in tidal tails during collisions. Numerical simulations suggest that the total detachment of the tidal dwarf requires the companion's mass to be comparable to or higher than that of the parent galaxy. This would imply that minor mergers (interaction between unequal mass galaxies) might not form tidal dwarf galaxies (TDGs). The objectives of the paper is to analyse the main properties of a sample of 116 HII regions previously selected from H{alpha} images of 11 minor mergers of galaxies and discuss the nature of these regions comparing their properties with those observed in HII regions in normal and isolated galaxies and TDG candidates. Individual parameters such as: blue absolute magnitude, MB, H{alpha} luminosity, L(H{alpha}), star formation rate, SFR(H{alpha}) and mass, M/M_{sun}_ of these regions were derived and compared with those of the HII regions in normal isolated galaxies, as well as in tidal dwarf candidates.

- We present the results of the B, V and I photometry of eleven southern minor mergers. The total apparent B magnitude, integrated B-V and V-I colours were measured. We built B, V, and I equivalent profiles for each galaxy and decomposed them into bulge and disk components when possible. From H{alpha}+N[II] images we have estimated the basic photometric parameters of the HII regions, such as position, size, B-V and V-I colours, H{alpha}+[NII] luminosity and EW(H{alpha}+[NII]) equivalent width.

- Properties of HII region populations in spiral galaxies provide important information about the physics of star formation as well as regional turbulent motions in the interstellar medium. We present a set of 376 photometrically calibrated HII regions in the nearby late-type spiral galaxy NGC 628. We have studies the mean velocity and velocity dispersion for the H-alpha-emitting gas in NGC 628 and found with widely distributed star formation in the disc plane. The H-alpha emission from the HII regions dominates any emission from the diffuse component in this galaxy.

- The galaxy NGC6384 has been observed with an IPCS through H{alpha} and [NII] narrow-band interference filters for direct imagery with the 2.6-m Byurakan telescope. We studied the main physical parameters of the identified 98 HII regions, their diameter and luminosity functions, as well the [NII]/H{alpha} ratio distribution.

- Using the data from the NOAO Local Group Survey, we have measured the H{alpha} fluxes of 291 nebulae associated with 21 of the van den Bergh OB associations. We have combined these data together with six-color HST WFPC2 photometry, in order to identify the most UV-bright stars in the region. The simple purpose of this article is to explore the spatial relationships between these components.

- We have identified a total of 1272 newly recognized emission regions in M33. Combined with the previously cataloged total of 1066 H II regions and supernova remnants, this brings M33's total to 2338 emission regions. This paper provides photometry of the new objects in H{alpha}, which is combined with data from previous catalogs to produce a global H II region luminosity function (corrected for incompleteness) that reaches a faint luminosity limit of 2x10^34^ergs/s and shows a broad maximum with a peak frequency at luminosities of 6x10^35^ergs/s. We also plot the H II region size distribution and comment on unusual morphologies.
