- Here we present 1584 new southern proper motion systems with {mu}>=0.18"/yr and 16.5>R_59F_>=18.0. This search complements the six previous SuperCOSMOS-RECONS (SCR) proper motion searches of the southern sky for stars within the same proper motion range, but with R_59F_<=16.5. As in previous papers, we present distance estimates for these systems and find that three systems are estimated to be within 25pc, including one, SCR 1546-5534, possibly within the RECONS 10pc horizon at 6.7pc, making it the second nearest discovery of the searches. We find 97 white dwarf candidates with distance estimates between 10 and 120pc, as well as 557 cool subdwarf candidates.

- We present 2817 new southern proper motion systems with 0.40"/yr>{mu}>=0.18"/yr and declination between -47{deg} and 00{deg}. This is a continuation of the SuperCOSMOS-RECONS (SCR) proper motion searches of the southern sky. We use the same photometric relations as previous searches to provide distance estimates based on the assumption that the objects are single main-sequence stars. We find 79 new red dwarf systems predicted to be within 25pc, including a few new components of previously known systems.

- A wealth of tiny galactic systems populates the surroundings of the Milky Way. However, some of these objects might have originated as former satellites of the Magellanic Clouds, in particular of the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). Examples of the importance of understanding how many systems are genuine satellites of the Milky Way or the LMC are the implications that the number and luminosity-mass function of satellites around hosts of different mass have for dark matter theories and the treatment of baryonic physics in simulations of structure formation. Here we aim at deriving the bulk motions and estimates of the internal velocity dispersion and metallicity properties in four recently discovered distant southern dwarf galaxy candidates, Columba I, Reticulum III, Phoenix II, and Horologium II. We combined Gaia DR2 astrometric measurements, photometry, and new FLAMES/GIRAFFE intermediate-resolution spectroscopic data in the region of the near-IR CaII triplet lines; this combination is essential for finding potential member stars in these low-luminosity systems. We find very likely member stars in all four satellites and are able to determine (or place limits on) the bulk motions and average internal properties of the systems. The systems are found to be very metal poor, in agreement with dwarf galaxies and dwarf galaxy candidates of similar luminosity. Of these four objects, we can only firmly place Phoenix II in the category of dwarf galaxies because of its resolved high velocity dispersion (9.5^+6.8^_-4.4_km/s) and intrinsic metallicity spread (0.33dex). For Columba I we also measure a clear metallicity spread. The orbital pole of Phoenix II is well constrained and close to that of the LMC, suggesting a prior association. The uncertainty on the orbital poles of the other systems is currently very large, so that an association cannot be excluded, except for Columba I. Using the numbers of potential former satellites of the LMC identified here and in the literature, we obtain for the LMC a dark matter mass of M_200_=1.9^+1.3^_-0.9_x10^11^M_{sun}_

- We present the results of a survey of the Coma Berenices open star cluster (Melotte 111), undertaken using proper motions from the USNO-B1.0 (United States Naval Observatory, <I/284>) and photometry from the Two-Micron All-Sky Survey (2MASS, <II/246>) Point Source catalogues. We have identified 60 new candidate members with masses in the range 1.007<M<0.269M_{sun}_. For each we have estimated a membership probability by extracting control clusters from the proper motion vector diagram. All 60 are found to have greater than 60 per cent probability of being members, more than doubling the number of known cluster members. The new luminosity function for the cluster peaks at bright magnitudes, but is rising at K>>12, indicating that it is likely that lower mass members may exist. The mass function also supports this hypothesis.

- We present a large sample of new members of the Taurus star-forming region that extend from stellar to planetary masses. To identify candidate members at substellar masses, we have used color-magnitude diagrams and proper motions measured with several wide-field optical and infrared (IR) surveys. At stellar masses, we have considered the candidate members that were found in a recent analysis of high-precision astrometry from the Gaia mission. Using new and archival spectra, we have measured spectral types and assessed membership for these 161 candidates, 79 of which are classified as new members. Our updated census of Taurus now contains 519 known members. According to Gaia data, this census should be nearly complete for spectral types earlier than M6-M7 at A_J_<1. For a large field encompassing ~72% of the known members, the census should be complete for K<15.7 at A_J_<1.5, which corresponds to ~5-13 M_Jup_ for ages of 1-10 Myr based on theoretical evolutionary models. Our survey has doubled the number of known members at >=M9 and has uncovered the faintest known member in M_K_, which should have a mass of ~3-10 M_Jup_ for ages of 1-10 Myr. We have used mid-IR photometry from the Spitzer Space Telescope and the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer to determine whether the new members exhibit excess emission that would indicate the presence of circumstellar disks. The updated disk fraction for Taurus is ~0.7 at =<M3.5 and ~0.4 at >M3.5.

- We developed an efficient method to search for late-type subdwarfs. We carried out a search cross-matching SDSS, 2MASS, and UKIDSS with VO tools. We considered different photometric and proper motion criteria for our selection. We identified 100 late-type subdwarf candidates. We obtained our own low-resolution optical spectra for 71 of our candidates and retrieved Sloan spectra for 30 of them (9 in common to the 71). We classified 92 candidates based on optical spectra. Our new discoveries include 49 subdwarfs, 25 extreme subdwarfs, six ultrasubdwarfs, one subdwarf/extreme subdwarf, and two dwarfs/subdwarfs. In addition, we discovered three early-L subdwarfs. We double the numbers of cool subdwarfs and derived a surface density of late-type subdwarfs.

- By selecting astrometric and photometric data from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS, II/306), the Lepine & Shara Proper Motion North Catalog (LSPM-North, I/298), the Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS, II/246), and the USNO-B1.0 (I/284) catalog, we use a succession of methods to isolate white dwarf (WD) candidates for follow-up spectroscopy. Our methods include reduced proper motion diagram cuts, color cuts, and atmospheric model adherence. We present spectroscopy of 26 WDs obtained from the CTIO 4m and APO 3.5m telescopes. Additionally, we confirm 28 WDs with spectra available in the SDSS-DR7 database but unpublished elsewhere, presenting a total of 54 WDs. We label one of these as a recovered WD while the remaining 53 are new discoveries. We determine physical parameters and estimate distances based on atmospheric model analyses. Three new WDs are modeled to lie within 25 pc. Two additional WDs are confirmed to be metal-polluted (DAZ). Follow-up time series photometry confirms another object to be a pulsating ZZ Ceti WD.

- We report the discovery of 9088 new spectroscopically confirmed white dwarfs and subdwarfs in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 10. We obtain T_eff_, logg and mass for hydrogen atmosphere white dwarf stars (DAs) and helium atmosphere white dwarf stars (DBs), and estimate the calcium/helium abundances for the white dwarf stars with metallic lines (DZs) and carbon/helium for carbon-dominated spectra DQs. We found 1 central star of a planetary nebula, 2 new oxygen spectra on helium atmosphere white dwarfs, 71 DQs, 42 hot DO/PG1159s, 171 white dwarf+main-sequence star binaries, 206 magnetic DAHs, 327 continuum-dominated DCs, 397 metal-polluted white dwarfs, 450 helium-dominated white dwarfs, 647 subdwarfs and 6887 new hydrogen-dominated white dwarf stars.

- Relative proper motions, their corresponding errors and membership probabilities of 722 stars in the open cluster NGC 1817 region are given. Equatorial coordinates were computed using Tycho Catalog (Cat. <I/239>) as reference stars. Forty stars from this catalog are in the region under study. The cross-identification of this 40 stars are given as notes. Only 15 stars were found in this region from the PPM Catalog (Cat. <I/146>), and their respective identification is also included in the note5.dat file.

- We provide new evidence that NGC 2451A is undoubtedly a young open cluster, although sparsely populated. New cluster membership has been derived from relative proper motions of 5868 stars. In total, 136 stars down to V~15 5 have membership probability P{mu}>=2%. New CCD BV photometry indicates that about 70 stars are indeed main-sequence stars of NGC 2451A. This is also supported by our measurements of radial velocities. A total of 34 very likely cluster members yield a mean heliocentric radial velocity for NGC 2451A equal to +22.9km/s. The high quality of our BV photometry, a confirmation of cluster membership from proper motions and radial velocities, and a recently obtained metallicity estimate for several cluster stars allow us to perform a precise isochrone fit. The Yale isochrones, updated by the latest available input physics, have been fitted to the cluster's color-magnitude diagram, yielding a distance modulus V_0_-M_V_ in the range 6.35 to 6.38, which is in excellent agreement with the distance modulus (m-M)_0_=6.38 derived from the Hipparcos data recently by van Leeuwen and Robichon et al. (1998, Cat. <J/A+AS/130/157>). We have used the high-resolution spectra acquired using the Hydra multiobject spectrograph at the WIYN telescope (Kitt Peak, Arizona) in 1997 November and 1998 October.
