- The study determines relative proper motions for stars brighter than 17.0mag in a 1.5x1.5{deg} field centered on the globular cluster 47 Tuc (NGC 104). Proper motion and membership probabilities are tabulated for 3076 stars within 32 arcmin of the cluster center. A proper motion of 47 Tuc relative to the SMC is derived, which relies on the assumption that the mean proper motion of field stars is the same as that in the nearby field of NGC 362, and on the detection of SMC stars in that field. The resulting space motion confirms the membership of 47 Tuc in the rapidly rotating, flattened, metal-rich disk subgroup of the galactic cluster system. Relative proper motions for stars centered on the globular cluster NGC 362 are determined. NGC 362 is found to exhibit a highly eccentric orbit, typical for a member of the halo subgroup of the galactic globular cluster system. The perigalactic distance of NGC 362 is very small (less than about 1kpc).

We apply a model which analyses the proper motion distribution and the stellar density to find the kinematic parameters and stellar membership in the region of the mentioned open clusters. - New, updated, and/or revised CCD parallaxes determined with the Strand Astrometric Reflector at the Naval Observatory Flagstaff Station are presented. Included are results for 309 late-type dwarf and subdwarf stars observed over the 30+ years that the program operated. For 124 of the stars, parallax determinations from other investigators have already appeared in the literature and we compare the different results. Also included here are new or updated VI photometry on the Johnson-Kron-Cousins system for all but a few of the faintest targets. Together with 2MASS JHK_s_ near-infrared photometry, a sample of absolute magnitude versus color and color versus color diagrams are constructed. Because large proper motion was a prime criterion for targeting the stars, the majority turn out to be either M-type subdwarfs or late M-type dwarfs. The sample also includes 50 dwarf or subdwarf L-type stars, and four T dwarfs. Possible halo subdwarfs are identified in the sample based on tangential velocity, subluminosity, and spectral type. Residuals from the solutions for parallax and proper motion for several stars show evidence of astrometric perturbations.

- Parallaxes are presented for a sample of 20 nearby dwarf carbon stars. The inferred luminosities cover almost two orders of magnitude. Their absolute magnitudes and tangential velocities confirm prior expectations that some originate in the Galactic disk, although more than half of this sample are halo stars. Three stars are found to be astrometric binaries, and orbital elements are determined; their semimajor axes are 1-3 au, consistent with the size of an AGB mass-transfer donor star.

- We have constructed the most comprehensive catalog of photometry and proper motions ever assembled for a globular cluster (GC). The core of {omega}Cen (NGC 5139) has been imaged over 650 times through WFC3's UVIS and IR channels for the purpose of detector calibration. There exist from 4 to over 60 exposures through each of 26 filters stretching continuously from F225W in the UV to F160W in the infrared. Furthermore, the 11yr baseline between these data and a 2002 ACS survey has allowed us to more than double the proper-motion accuracy and triple the number of well-measured stars compared to our previous groundbreaking effort. This totally unprecedented complete spectral coverage of over 470000 stars within the cluster's core, from the tip of the red giant branch down to the white dwarfs, provides the best astro-photometric observational database yet to understand the multiple-population phenomenon in any GC. In this first paper of the series, we describe in detail the data-reduction processes and deliver the astro-photometric catalog to the astronomical community.

- The catalogue of stars in the Galactic open cluster areas (CSOCA) is the result of the kinematic (proper motion), photometric and spatial member selection of stars listed in the homogeneous All-sky Compiled Catalogue of 2.5 Million Stars (ASCC-2.5, Cat. <I/280>) within 520 areas with open clusters selected from an on-line release 2.0 of catalogue by Dias et al. (2004, http://www.astro.iag.usp.br/~wilton, Cat. VII/229). The areas represent quadratic fields centered at adopted cluster centers with side lengths of a_cl_[deg]=2*(r_cl_+0.1), where r_cl_ is the determined angular radius of the cluster. For clusters with r_cl_<0.4{deg}, a_cl_=1{deg}. In every cluster area the CSOCA contains the complete list of the ASCC-2.5 stars. The catalog includes accurate J2000 equatorial coordinates, proper motions in the Hipparcos system, BV photometric data in the Johnson system, proper motion, photometric and spatial membership probabilities, and angular distances from the cluster centers for all included stars. If available, trigonometric parallaxes, multiplicity and variability flags from the ASCC-2.5, spectral types (from the ASCC-2.5 or the Tycho-2 Spectral Type Catalog <III/231>), and radial velocities with their errors from the Catalogue of Radial Velocities of Galactic Stars with high precision Astrometric Data (CRVAD, <III/239>) are also given. Since some cluster areas overlap each other some stars are included in the CSOCA several times. The catalogue contains 171319 entries for 149849 stars. Entries are sorted in right ascension J2000 order.

- A study of the H{alpha} variability of Be stars

- This paper presents the results of 4 years of high-resolution spectral observations of 69 emission-line stars, 54 of them being newly discovered sources. We classified the stars on the basis of their position in the two-color IR diagram and some additional criteria: shape and width of the H{alpha} profile, presence of He lines, proper motion and parallax, membership to open cluster and associations. Sixty of our targets turned out to be Be stars. We also found four late giants, four pre-MS stars, and one late dwarf. The H{alpha} emission profiles of our Be stars range from single peaked to typical shell profiles that can also be highly asymmetric or single-peaked profiles with a narrow absorption core. The emission profiles appear almost constant with time or highly variable in intensity and in their V/R ratio. The detected long-term variability of the H{alpha} emission is important for investigating the on/off switch phenomenon of Be stars. Our study led to an increase of the number of the emission-line stars of 16 open clusters.

- We present the results of a comprehensive assessment of companions to solar-type stars. A sample of 454 stars, including the Sun, was selected from the Hipparcos catalog with {pi}>40mas, {sigma}{pi}/{pi}<0.05, 0.5<=B-V<=1.0 (~F6-K3), and constrained by absolute magnitude and color to exclude evolved stars. These criteria are equivalent to selecting all dwarf and subdwarf stars within 25pc with V-band flux between 0.1 and 10 times that of the Sun, giving us a physical basis for the term "solar-type". New observational aspects of this work include surveys for (1) very close companions with long-baseline interferometry at the Center for High Angular Resolution Astronomy Array, (2) close companions with speckle interferometry, and (3) wide proper-motion companions identified by blinking multi-epoch archival images. In addition, we include the results from extensive radial-velocity monitoring programs and evaluate companion information from various catalogs covering many different techniques. The results presented here include four new common proper-motion companions discovered by blinking archival images. Additionally, the spectroscopic data searched reveal five new stellar companions. Our synthesis of results from many methods and sources results in a thorough evaluation of stellar and brown dwarf companions to nearby Sun-like stars. The overall observed fractions of single, double, triple, and higher-order systems are 56%+/-2%, 33%+/-2%, 8%+/-1%, and 3%+/-1%, respectively, counting all confirmed stellar and brown dwarf companions.

- The Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System (ATLAS) observes most of the sky every night in search of dangerous asteroids. Its data are also used to search for photometric variability, where sensitivity to variability is limited by photometric accuracy. Since each exposure spans 7.6{deg} corner to corner, variations in atmospheric transparency in excess of 0.01mag are common, and 0.01mag photometry cannot be achieved by using a constant flat-field calibration image. We therefore have assembled an all-sky reference catalog of approximately one billion stars to m~19 from a variety of sources to calibrate each exposure's astrometry and photometry. Gaia DR2 is the source of astrometry for this ATLAS Refcat2. The sources of g, r, i, and z photometry include Pan-STARRS DR1, the ATLAS Pathfinder photometry project, ATLAS reflattened APASS data, SkyMapper DR1, APASS DR9, the Tycho-2 catalog, and the Yale Bright Star Catalog. We have attempted to make this catalog at least 99% complete to m<19, including the brightest stars in the sky. We believe that the systematic errors are no larger than 5mmag rms, although errors are as large as 20mmag in small patches near the Galactic plane.

- The catalogue is a compilation of the principal observed parameters of pulsars, including positions, timing parameters, pulse widths, flux densities, proper motions, distances, and dispersion, rotation, and scattering measures. It also lists the orbital elements of binary pulsars, and some commonly used parameters derived from the basic measurements. The catalogue includes all published rotation-powered pulsars, including those detected only at high energies. It also includes Anomalous X-ray Pulsars (AXPs) and Soft Gamma-ray Repeaters (SGRs) for which coherent pulsations have been detected. However, it excludes accretion-powered pulsars such as Her X-1 and the recently discovered X-ray millisecond pulsars.
