- The fundamental stellar atmospheric parameters (Teff and logg) and 13 chemical abundances are derived for medium-resolution spectroscopy from Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) Medium Resolution Survey (MRS) data sets with a deep-learning method. The neural networks we designed, named SPCANet, precisely map LAMOST MRS spectra to stellar parameters and chemical abundances. The stellar labels derived by SPCANet have precisions of 119K for Teff and 0.17dex for logg. The abundance precision of 11 elements including [C/H], [N/H], [O/H], [Mg/H], [Al/H], [Si/H], [S/H], [Ca/H], [Ti/H], [Cr/H], [Fe/H], and [Ni/H] are 0.06 {\sim} 0.12 dex, while that of [Cu/H] is 0.19dex. These precisions can be reached even for spectra with signal-to-noise ratios as low as 10. The results of SPCANet are consistent with those from other surveys such as APOGEE, GALAH, and RAVE, and are also validated with the previous literature values including clusters and field stars.

- We present the results from a spectroscopic CaII H&K survey of 1058 late-type stars selected from a color-limited subsample of the Hipparcos (Cat. <I/239>) catalog. Out of these 1058 stars, 371 stars were found to show significant H&K emission, most of them previously unknown; 23% with strong emission, 36% with moderate emission, and 41% with weak emission. These spectra are used to determine absolute H&K emission-line fluxes, radial velocities, and equivalent widths of the luminosity-sensitive Sr II line at 4077{AA}. Red-wavelength spectroscopic and Stroemgren y photometric follow-up observations of the 371 stars with H&K emission are used to additionally determine the absolute H{alpha}-core flux, the lithium abundance from the Li I 6708{AA} equivalent width, the rotational velocity vsini, the radial velocity, and the light variations and its periodicity.

- Arcuate mid-infrared nebulae known as stellar bow shock nebulae (SBNe) have been previously hypothesized to be supported by the strong stellar winds and/or luminosity of massive early-type stars. We present an optical spectroscopic survey of 84 stars identified from mid-infrared images as candidate SBN-supporting stars. Eighty-one of 84 sources, 96%, are O or early-B spectral types. K-band luminosities for a larger sample of 289 stars at the centers of bow shock nebulae are overwhelmingly consistent with OB stars. This affirms both that SBNe are supported by massive stars and that arcuate mid-infrared nebulae are reliable indicators of the presence of a massive star. The radial velocity dispersions of these systems and detections of double-lined systems indicate that at least 27 of the 74 systems with multiple observations (>36%) are candidate multiple-star systems. This rate is consistent with observed multiplicity rates of field OB stars detected with similar radial velocity surveys and lower than, but not inconsistent with, the multiplicity rates of OB stars in clusters and associations.

- We present an analysis of nine S0-Sb galaxies which have (photometric) bulges consisting of two distinct components. The outer component is a flattened, kinematically cool, disc-like structure: a 'discy pseudo-bulge'. Embedded inside is a rounder, kinematically hot spheroidal structure: a `classical bulge'. This indicates that pseudo-bulges and classical bulges are not mutually exclusive phenomena: some galaxies have both. The discy pseudo-bulges almost always consist of an exponential disc (scalelengths=125-870 pc, mean size ~440 pc) with one or more disc-related subcomponents: nuclear rings, nuclear bars, and/or spiral arms. They constitute 11-59 percent of the galaxy stellar mass (mean PB/T=0.33), with stellar masses ~7x10^9^-9x10^10^ M_{sun}_. The classical-bulge components have Sersic indices of 0.9-2.2, effective radii of 25-430 pc and stellar masses of 5x10^8^-3x10^10^ M_{sun}_; they are usually <10 percent of the galaxy's stellar mass (mean B/T=0.06). The classical bulges do show rotation, but are clearly kinematically hotter than the discy pseudo-bulges. Dynamical modelling of three systems indicates that velocity dispersions are isotropic in the classical bulges and equatorially biased in the discy pseudo-bulges. In the mass-radius and mass-stellar mass density planes, classical-bulge components follow sequences defined by ellipticals and (larger) classical bulges. Discy pseudo-bulges also fall on this sequence; they are more compact than large-scale discs of similar mass. Although some classical bulges are quite compact, they are as a class clearly distinct from nuclear star clusters in both size and mass; in at least two galaxies they coexist with nuclear clusters. Since almost all the galaxies in this study are barred, they probably also host boxy/peanut-shaped bulges (vertically thickened inner parts of bars). NGC 3368 shows isophotal evidence for such a zone just outside its discy pseudo-bulge, making it a clear case of a galaxy with all three types of 'bulge'.

- Recent observations have challenged our understanding of rotational mixing in massive stars by revealing a population of fast-rotating objects with apparently normal surface nitrogen abundances. However, several questions have arisen because of a number of issues (e.g., presence of numerous upper limits for the nitrogen abundance, unknown multiplicity status, mix of stars with different physical properties such as their mass and evolutionary state that are known to control the amount of rotational mixing), rendering a re-investigation necessary. We have carefully selected a large sample of bright, fast-rotating early-type stars of our Galaxy (40 objects with spectral types between B0.5 and O4). Their high-quality, high-resolution optical spectra were then analysed with the stellar atmosphere modelling codes DETAIL/SURFACE or CMFGEN, depending on the temperature of the target. Several internal and external checks were performed to validate our methods, notably comparing our results with literature data for some well-known objects, studying the effect of gravity darkening, or confronting the results provided by the two codes for stars amenable to both analyses. Furthermore, we have studied the radial velocities of the stars to assess their binarity. This first part of our study presents our methods and provides the derived stellar parameters, He, CNO abundances and the multiplicity status of every star of the sample. It is the first time that He and CNO abundances of such a large number of Galactic massive fast rotators are determined in a homogeneous way.

- Here we publish the extracted stellar parameters from a recent large spectroscopic survey of ten globular clusters. A brief review of the project is also presented. Stellar parameters have been extracted from individual stellar spectra using both a modified version of the Radial Velocity Experiment (RAVE) pipeline and a pipeline based on the parameter estimation method of RAVE. We publish here all parameters extracted from both pipelines. We calibrate the metallicity and convert this to [Fe/H] for each star and, furthermore, we compare the velocities and velocity dispersions of the Galactic stars in each field to the Besanc,on Galaxy model. We find that the model does not correspond well with the data, indicating that the model is probably of little use for comparisons with pencil beam survey data such as this.

- We present new kinematic data for the Ophiuchus stellar stream. Spectra have been taken of member candidates at the Multiple Mirror Telescope (MMT) using Hectospec, Hectochelle, and Binospec, which provide more than 1800 new velocities. Combined with proper-motion measurements of stars in the field by the Gaia-DR2 catalog, we have derived stream membership probabilities, resulting in the detection of more than 200 likely members. These data show the stream extends to more than three times the length shown in the discovery data. A spur to the main stream is also detected. The high-resolution spectra allow us to resolve the stellar velocity dispersion, found to be 1.6{+/-}0.3km/s.
