- This catalog contains the 5C6 and 5C7 radio surveys at 408 and 1407 MHz done with the with the One-Mile telescope at Cambridge (UK). The 5C6 survey of radio sources, made at 408 MHz (HPBW 80"x151") and 1407 MHz (HPBW 23"x44") was centered on 02:14 +32:00' (B1950) and contains 297 sources stronger than 10 mJy at 408 MHz and 1.5 mJy at 1407 MHz. The flux densities are on the KPW scale (Kellermann et al. 1969ApJ...157....1K) and were based on 3C147 and 3C380. Positions, positional errors, flux density information, and descriptions of optical objects visible on the Palomar Sky Survey within about 20" of the radio sources are given. The 5C7 survey of radio sources, made at 408 MHz (HPBW 80"x176") and 1407 MHz (HPBW 23"x51") was centered at 08:17 +27:00 (B1950) and contains 281 sources stronger than 10 mJy at 408 MHz and 1.5 mJy at 1407 MHz. The flux densities are on the KPW scale (Kellermann et al. 1969ApJ...157....1K), and were based on 3C147 and 3C380. Positions, positional errors, flux density information, and descriptions of optical objects visible on the Palomar Sky Survey within about 20" of the radio sources are given.

- A deep 0.4-GHz survey of a 4deg-diameter region in Hercules is reported. 232 sources brighter than 9.5 mJy were detected. In a simultaneous 1.4-GHz survey of the concentric area 1deg in diameter, 45 sources brighter than 1.7 mJy were detected. The differential 0.4-GHz radio source count is presented; it is in good agreement with that from other 5C surveys. This survey brings to 3220 the number of 0.4-GHz sources catalogued by the published 5C surveys.

- We present a catalog of compact sources of radio emission at 1420MHz in the northern Galactic plane from the Canadian Galactic Plane Survey. The catalog contains 72758 compact sources with an angular size less than 3' within the Galactic longitude range 52{deg}<l<192{deg} down to a 5{sigma} detection level of ~1.2mJy. Linear polarization properties are included for 12368 sources with signals greater than 4{sigma}_QU_ in the Canadian Galactic Plane Survey (CGPS) Stokes Q and U images at the position of the total intensity peak. We compare CGPS flux densities with cataloged flux densities in the Northern VLA Sky Survey catalog for 10897 isolated unresolved sources with CGPS flux density greater than 4mJy to search for sources that show variable flux density on timescales of several years. We identify 146 candidate variables that exhibit high fractional variations between the two surveys. In addition, we identify 13 candidate transient sources that have CGPS flux density above 10mJy but are not detected in the Northern VLA Sky Survey.

- This paper presents a new complete and well-defined sample of flat-spectrum radio sources (FSRS) selected from the Cosmic Lens All-Sky Survey (CLASS), with the further constraint of a bright (mag<=17.5) optical counterpart. The sample has been designed to produce a large number of low-luminosity blazars in order to test the current unifying models in the low-luminosity regime. In this first paper the new sample is presented and the radio properties of the 325 sources contained therein are discussed.

- We discuss the properties of the sources in the CLASS blazar survey, which aims at the selection of low radio power (P_5GHz_<10^25^W/Hz) blazars. We use Very Large Array (VLA) data from available catalogues and from our own observations to constrain the radio core-dominance of the sample which, together with the flat radio spectral index, is a signature of the blazar activity. X-ray data from the ROSAT All Sky Survey were also collected in order to constrain the radio-to-X-ray luminosity ratio of the sources.

- This paper presents a new sample of BL Lac objects selected from a deep (30mJy) radio survey of flat spectrum radio sources (the CLASS blazar survey). The sample is one of the largest well-defined samples in the low-power regime with a total of 130 sources of which 55 satisfy the 'classical' optical BL Lac selection criteria, and the rest have indistinguishable radio properties. The primary goal of this study is to establish the radio luminosity function (RLF) on firm statistical ground at low radio luminosities where previous samples have not been able to investigate. The gain of taking a peek at lower powers is the possibility to search for the flattening of the luminosity function which is a feature predicted by the beaming model but which has remained elusive to observational confirmation. In this study, we extend for the first time the BL Lac RLF down to very low radio powers ~10^22^W/Hz, i.e. two orders of magnitude below the RLF currently available in the literature. In the process, we confirm the importance of adopting a broader, and more physically meaningful set of classification criteria to avoid the systematic missing of low-luminosity BL Lacs. Thanks to the good statistics we confirm the existence of weak but significant positive cosmological evolution for the BL Lac population, and we detect, for the first time the flattening of the RLF at L~10^25^W/Hz in agreement with the predictions of the beaming model.

- We present the COSMOS2015 catalog, which contains precise photometric redshifts and stellar masses for more than half a million objects over the 2deg^2^ COSMOS field. Including new YJHKs images from the UltraVISTA-DR2 survey, Y-band images from Subaru/Hyper-Suprime-Cam, and infrared data from the Spitzer Large Area Survey with the Hyper-Suprime-Cam (SPLASH) Spitzer legacy program, this near-infrared-selected catalog is highly optimized for the study of galaxy evolution and environments in the early universe. To maximize catalog completeness for bluer objects and at higher redshifts, objects have been detected on a {chi}^2^ sum of the YJHKs and z^++^ images. The catalog contains ~6x10^5^ objects in the 1.5deg^2^ UltraVISTA-DR2 region and ~1.5x10^5^ objects are detected in the "ultra-deep stripes" (0.62deg^2^) at Ks<=24.7 (3{sigma}, 3", AB (AB) magnitude). Through a comparison with the zCOSMOS-bright spectroscopic redshifts, we measure a photometric redshift precision of {sigma}_{Delta}z/(1+zs)_=0.007 and a catastrophic failure fraction of {eta}=0.5%. At 3<z<6 , using the unique database of spectroscopic redshifts in COSMOS, we find {sigma}_{Delta}z/(1+zs)_=0.021 and {eta}=13.2% . The deepest regions reach a 90% completeness limit of 10^10^M_{sun}_ to z=4. Detailed comparisons of the color distributions, number counts, and clustering show excellent agreement with the literature in the same mass ranges. COSMOS2015 represents a unique, publicly available, valuable resource with which to investigate the evolution of galaxies within their environment back to the earliest stages of the history of the universe.

- We present the North Galactic Cap sample of the Extremely Luminous Quasar Survey (ELQS-N), which targets quasars with M_1450_{<}-27 at 2.8<=z<5 in an area of ~7600deg^2^ of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) footprint with 90{deg}<RA<270{deg}. Based on a near-infrared/infrared JKW2 color cut, the ELQS selection efficiently uses random forest methods to classify quasars and to estimate photometric redshifts; this scheme overcomes some of the difficulties of pure optical quasar selection at z~3. As a result, we retain a completeness of >70% over z~3.0-5.0 at m_i_<~17.5, limited toward fainter magnitudes by the depth of the Two Micron All Sky Survey. The presented quasar catalog consists of a total of 270 objects, of which 39 are newly identified in this work with spectroscopy obtained at the Vatican Advanced Technology Telescope and the MMT 6.5m telescope. In addition to the high completeness, which allowed us to discover new quasars in the already well-surveyed SDSS North Galactic Cap, the efficiency of our selection is relatively high at ~79%. Using 120 objects of this quasar sample we are able to extend the previously measured optical quasar luminosity function (QLF) by one magnitude toward the bright end at 2.8<=z<=4.5. A first analysis of the QLF suggests a relatively steep bright-end slope of {beta}~-4 for this sample. This result contrasts with previous results in the same redshift range, which find a much flatter slope around {beta}~-2.5, but agrees with recent measurements of the bright-end slope at lower and higher redshifts. Our results constrain the bright-end slope at z=2.8-4.5 to {beta}{<}-2.94 with a 99% confidence.

- I present a catalogue of positions and correlated flux densities of 109 compact extragalactic radio sources in the Galactic plane determined from analysis of a 48 hour VLBI experiment at 22GHz with the European VLBI Network. The median position uncertainty is 9mas. The correlated flux densities of detected sources are in the range of 20 to 300mJy. In addition to target sources, nine water masers have been detected, two of them new. I derived position of masers with accuracies 30 to 200mas and determined velocities of maser components and their correlated flux densities.
