- We conducted a deep narrow-band imaging survey with the Subaru Prime Focus Camera on the Subaru Telescope and constructed a sample of Ly{alpha} emitters (LAEs) at z=2.53 in the UDS-CANDELS field, where a sample of H{alpha} emitters (HAEs) at the same redshift is already obtained from our previous narrow-band observation at near-infrared. The deep narrow-band and multibroad-band data allow us to find LAEs of stellar masses and star formation rates (SFRs) down to >=10^8^M_{sun}_ and >=0.2 M_{sun}_/yr, respectively. We show that the LAEs are located along the same mass-SFR sequence traced by normal star-forming galaxies such as HAEs, but towards a significantly lower mass regime. Likewise, LAEs seem to share the same mass-size relation with typical star-forming galaxies, except for the massive LAEs that tend to show significantly compact sizes. We identify a vigorous mass growth in the central part of LAEs: the stellar mass density in the central region of LAEs increases as their total galaxy mass grows. On the other hand, we see no Ly{alpha} line in emission for most of the HAEs. Rather, we find that the Ly{alpha} feature is either absent or in absorption (Ly{alpha} absorbers, LAAs), and its absorption strength may increase with reddening of the UV continuum slope. We demonstrate that a deep Ly{alpha} narrow-band imaging like this study is able to search for not only LAEs but also LAAs in a certain redshift slice. - We report the discovery of 64 luminous infrared galaxies, based on new observations of 20 square degrees from the LAMOST Complete Spectroscopic Survey of Pointing Area at the Southern Galactic Cap and the WISE 22um catalog from the AllWISE Data Release. Half of them are classified as late-type spirals and the others are classified as peculiar/compact galaxies. The peculiar/compact galaxies tend to exhibit higher luminosities and lower stellar masses. We also separate AGNs from HII galaxies in a simple way by examining LAMOST spectra. Those cases show that host AGNs are easily distinguished from others in the mid-infrared color-color diagrams.

- We present a sample of 48 metal-poor galaxies at z<0.14 selected from 92 510 galaxies in the LAMOST survey. These galaxies are identified by their detection of the auroral emission line [OIII]{lambda}4363 above the 3{sigma} level, which allows a direct measurement of electron temperature and oxygen abundance. The emission line fluxes are corrected for internal dust extinction using the Balmer decrement method. With electron temperature derived from [OIII]{lambda}{lambda}4959,5007/[OIII]{lambda}4363 and electron density from [SII]{lambda}6731/[SII]{lambda}6717, we obtain the oxygen abundances in our sample which range from 12+log(O/H)=7.63(0.09Z_{sun}_) to 8.46 (0.6Z_{sun}_). We find an extremely metal-poor galaxy with 12+log(O/H)=7.63+/-0.01. With multiband photometric data from FUV to NIR and H{alpha} measurements, we also determine the stellar masses and star formation rates, based on the spectral energy distribution fitting and H{alpha} luminosity, respectively. We find that our galaxies have low and intermediate stellar masses with 6.39<=log(M/M_{sun}_)<=9.27, and high star formation rates (SFRs) with -2.18<=log(SFR/M_{sun}_yr^-1^)<=1.95. We also find that the metallicities of our galaxies are consistent with the local T_e_-based mass-metallicity relation, while the scatter is about 0.28dex. Additionally, assuming the coefficient of {alpha}=0.66, we find most of our galaxies follow the local mass-metallicity-SFR relation, but a scatter of about 0.24dex exists, suggesting the mass-metallicity relation is weakly dependent on SFR for those metal-poor galaxies.

- In this work, we report new quasars discovered in fields in the vicinity of the Andromeda (M31) and Triangulum (M33) galaxies with the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST, also called the Guo Shou Jing Telescope) during the 2013 observational season, the second year of the regular survey. In total, 1330 new quasars are discovered in an area of ~133{deg}^2^ around M31 and M33. With i magnitudes ranging from 14.79 to 20.0 and redshifts from 0.08 to 4.85, the 1330 new quasars represent a significant increase in the number of identified quasars in fields in the vicinity of M31 and M33. Up to now, there have been a total of 1870 quasars discovered by LAMOST in this area. The much enlarged sample of known quasars in this area can potentially be utilized to construct a precise astrometric reference frame for the measurement of minute proper motions of M31, M33 and their associated substructures, which are vital for understanding the formation and evolution of M31, M33 and the Local Group of galaxies. Moreover, in the sample, there are a total of 45, 98 and 225 quasars with i magnitudes brighter than 17.0, 17.5 and 18.0 respectively. In the aforementioned brightness bins, 15, 35 and 84 quasars are reported here for the first time, and 6, 21 and 81 are reported in our previous work. In addition, 0, 1 and 6 are from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey and 24, 41 and 54 are from the NED database. These bright quasars provide an invaluable sample to study the kinematics and chemistry of the interstellar/intergalactic medium of the Local Group.

- A small fraction (<10%) of the SDSS main galaxy (MG) sample has not been targeted with spectroscopy due to the effect of fiber collisions. These galaxies have been compiled into the input catalog of the LAMOST ExtraGAlactic Surveys and named the complementary galaxy sample. In this paper, we introduce this project and status of the spectroscopies associated with the complementary galaxies in the first two years of the LAMOST spectral survey (till Sep. of 2014). Moreover, we present a sample of 1102 galaxy pairs identified from the LAMOST complementary galaxies and SDSS MGs, which are defined as two members that have a projected distance smaller than 100h_70_^-1^kpc and a recessional velocity difference smaller than 500km/s. Compared with galaxy pairs that are only selected from SDSS, the LAMOST- SDSS pairs have the advantages of not being biased toward large separations and therefore act as a useful supplement in statistical studies of galaxy interaction and galaxy merging.

- We present the Large Area Radio Galaxy Evolution Spectroscopic Survey (LARGESS), a spectroscopic catalogue of radio sources designed to include the full range of radio AGN populations out to redshift z~0.8. The catalogue covers ~800deg^2^ of sky, and provides optical identifications for 19179 radio sources from the 1.4GHz Faint Images of the Radio Sky at Twenty-cm (FIRST) survey down to an optical magnitude limit of i_mod_<20.5 in Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) images. Both galaxies and point-like objects are included, and no colour cuts are applied. In collaboration with the WiggleZ and Galaxy And Mass Assembly (GAMA) spectroscopic survey teams, we have obtained new spectra for over 5000 objects in the LARGESS sample. Combining these new spectra with data from earlier surveys provides spectroscopic data for 12329 radio sources in the survey area, of which 10 856 have reliable redshifts. 85 per cent of the LARGESS spectroscopic sample are radio AGN (median redshift z=0.44), and 15 per cent are nearby star-forming galaxies (median z=0.08). Low-excitation radio galaxies (LERGs) comprise the majority (83 per cent) of LARGESS radio AGN at z<0.8, with 12 per cent being high-excitation radio galaxies (HERGs) and 5 per cent radio-loud QSOs. Unlike the more homogeneous LERG and QSO sub-populations, HERGs are a heterogeneous class of objects with relatively blue optical colours and a wide dispersion in mid-infrared colours. This is consistent with a picture in which most HERGs are hosted by galaxies with recent or ongoing star formation as well as a classical accretion disc.

- The Las Campanas Observatory and Anglo-Australian Telescope Rich Cluster Survey (LARCS) is a panoramic imaging and spectroscopic survey of an X-ray luminosity-selected sample of 21 clusters of galaxies at 0.97<z<0.16. Charge-coupled device (CCD) imaging was obtained in B and R of typically 2{deg} wide regions centred on the 21 clusters, and the galaxy sample selected from the imaging is being used for an on-going spectroscopic survey of the clusters with the 2dF spectrograph on the Anglo-Australian Telescope.

- We present deep Keck spectroscopy, using the Deep Imaging Multi-Object Spectrograph and the Low-Resolution Imaging Spectrometer spectrographs, of a large and representative sample of 67 extremely red objects (EROs) to H=20.5 in three fields (SSA22, Chandra Deep Field South and NTT Deep Field) drawn from the Las Campanas Infrared Survey (LCIRS). Using the colour cut (I-H)>3.0 (Vega magnitudes) adopted in earlier papers in this series, we verify the efficiency of this selection for locating and studying distant old sources. Spectroscopic redshifts are determined for 44 sources, of which only two are contaminating low-mass stars. When allowance is made for incompleteness, the spectroscopic redshift distribution closely matches that predicted earlier on the basis of photometric data.

- The Las Campanas Redshift Survey (LCRS) consists of 26,418 redshifts of galaxies selected from a CCD-based catalog obtained in the R band. The survey covers over 700deg^2 in six strips, each 1.5x80deg, three each in the north and south Galactic caps. The median redshift in the survey is about 30,000km/s. Essential features of the galaxy selection and redshift measurement methods are described and tabulated here. These details are important for subsequent analysis of the LCRS data. Two-dimensional representations of the redshift distributions reveal many repetitions of voids, on the scale of about 5000km/s, sharply bounded by large walls of galaxies as seen in nearby surveys. Statistical investigations of the mean galaxy properties and of clustering on the large scale are reported elsewhere. These include studies of the luminosity function, power spectrum in two and three dimensions, correlation function, pairwise velocity distribution, identification of large-scale structures, and a group catalog.
