- The Roma-BZCAT is now at the 5th Edition which contains coordinates and multi-frequency data of 3561 sources, about 30% more than in the 1st edition, either confirmed blazars or exhibiting characteristics close to this type of sources. With respect to the previous editions, this new edition has relevant changes in the sources' classification and has a new format for the notes in the tables. We emphasize that all the sources in the Roma-BZCAT have a detection in the radio band. Moreover, a complete spectroscopic information is published and could be accessed by us for all of them, with the exception of BL Lac candidates. Consequently, peculiar sources as the so called "radio quiet BL Lacs", which are reported in some other catalogues, are not included here because of possible contamination with hot stars and other extragalactic objects.

- We present the fifth edition of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Quasar Catalog, which is based upon the SDSS Seventh Data Release. The catalog, which contains 105783 spectroscopically confirmed quasars, represents the conclusion of the SDSS-I and SDSS-II quasar survey. The catalog consists of the SDSS objects that have luminosities larger than M_i_=-22.0 (in a cosmology with H_0_=70km/s/Mpc, {Omega}_M_=0.3, and {Omega}_{Lambda}=0.7), have at least one emission line with FWHM larger than 1000km/s or have interesting/complex absorption features, are fainter than i~15.0, and have highly reliable redshifts. The catalog covers an area of ~9380deg^2^. The quasar redshifts range from 0.065 to 5.46, with a median value of 1.49; the catalog includes 1248 quasars at redshifts greater than 4, of which 56 are at redshifts greater than 5. The catalog contains 9210 quasars with i<18; slightly over half of the entries have i<19. For each object the catalog presents positions accurate to better than 0.1"rms per coordinate, five-band (ugriz) CCD-based photometry with typical accuracy of 0.03mag, and information on the morphology and selection method. The catalog also contains radio, near-infrared, and X-ray emission properties of the quasars, when available, from other large-area surveys. The calibrated digital spectra cover the wavelength region 3800-9200{AA} at a spectral resolution of ~2000; the spectra can be retrieved from the SDSS public database using the information provided in the catalog. Over 96% of the objects in the catalog were discovered by the SDSS. We also include a supplemental list of an additional 207 quasars with SDSS spectra whose archive photometric information is incomplete.

- The present catalog is a subset of the data release 6 of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS), restricted to primary and secondary photo objects (i.e. objects from PhotoPrimary of PhotoSecondary tables) and restricted to the columns described in the "Byte-by-Byte" description below. The complete SDSS data release 6 catalog is available from http://www.sdss.org/dr6/. Compared to data release 5 (Cat. II/276), this subset includes in addition the redshift and its error (for the 880680 sources observed spectroscopically), and the proper motions. - The Southern Serendipitous High-redshift Archival Cluster (SHARC) catalogue is a X-ray selected catalogue of galaxy clusters detected in deep ROSAT observations. The survey area is 17.7deg^2^ and is selected from long (greater than 10ks) ROSAT exposures with a declination <+20deg and excluding the Galactic plane (excluding galactic latitudes within the range [-20,20]deg). Optical follow-up was performed to confirm the presence of a galaxy cluster and measure its redshift. The final catalogue contains 32 galaxy clusters with redshifts between 0.05 and 0.70 and X-ray luminosities between 7x10^35^W and 4x10^37^W. Above a redshift of 0.3 - which forms the primary subsample of the survey - there are 16 clusters; the X-ray luminosities of these clusters are all greater than 2x10^36 W. All X-ray luminosities are quoted in the 0.5-2.0keV band and were calculated using an Einstein-de Sitter cosmology with H_0_ set to 50km/s/Mpc.

- We present a new catalogue of galaxy triplets derived from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Data Release 7. The identification of systems was performed considering galaxies brighter than M_r_=-20.5 and imposing constraints over the projected distances, radial velocity differences of neighbouring galaxies and isolation. To improve the identification of triplets, we employed a data pixelization scheme, which allows us to handle large amounts of data as in the SDSS photometric survey. Using spectroscopic and photometric data in the redshift range 0.01<=z<=0.40, we obtain 5901 triplet candidates. We have used a mock catalogue to analyse the completeness and contamination of our methods.

- Local and intermediate redshift (z~0.5) galaxy samples obey well correlated relations between the stellar population luminosity and maximal galaxy rotation that define the TullyFisher (TF) relation. Consensus is starting to be reached on the TF relation at z~0.5, but work at significantly higher redshifts is even more challenging, and has been limited by small galaxy sample sizes, the intrinsic scatter of galaxy properties, and increasing observational uncertainties. We present here the TF measurements of 41 galaxies at relatively high redshift, spectroscopically observed with the Keck/DEIMOS instrument by the DEEP2 project, a survey which will eventually offer a large galaxy sample of the greatest depth and number yet achieved towards this purpose. The first-look sample analyzed here has a redshift range of 0.75<z<1.3 with <z>=0.85 and an intrinsic magnitude range from M_B_ of -22.66 to -20.57 (Vega). We find that compared to local fiducial samples, a brightening of 1.5mag is observed, and consistent with passive evolutionary models.

- We present two new catalogues of superclusters of galaxies out to a redshift of z=0.15, based on the Abell/ACO cluster redshift compilation maintained by one of us (HA). The first of these catalogues, the all-sky Main SuperCluster Catalogue (MSCC), is based on only the rich (A-) Abell clusters, and the second one, the Southern SuperCluster Catalogue (SSCC), covers declinations {delta}<-17{deg} and includes the supplementary Abell S-clusters. A tunable Friends-of-Friends algorithm was used to account for the cluster density decreasing with redshift and for different selection functions in distinct areas of the sky. We present the full list of Abell clusters used, together with their redshifts and supercluster memberships and including the isolated clusters. The SSCC contains about twice the number of superclusters than MSCC for {delta}<-17{deg}, which we found to be due to (1) new superclusters formed by A-clusters in their cores and surrounded by S-clusters (50%), (2) new superclusters formed by S-clusters only (40%), (3) redistribution of member clusters by fragmentation of rich (multiplicity m>15) superclusters (8%), and (4) new superclusters formed by the connection of A-clusters through bridges of S-clusters (2%). Power-law fits to the cumulative supercluster multiplicity function yield slopes of {alpha}=-2.0 and {alpha}=-1.9 for MSCC and SSCC, respectively. This power-law behaviour is in agreement with the findings for other observational samples of superclusters, but not with that of catalogues based on cosmological simulations.

- 1 per cent of redshift z~0.1 active galactic nuclei (AGNs) show velocity splitting of a few hundred km/s in the narrow emission lines in spatially integrated spectra. Such line profiles have been found to arise from the bulk motion of ionized gas clouds associated with galactic-scale outflows, merging pairs of galaxies each harbouring a supermassive black hole (SMBH), and/or galactic-scale disc rotation. It remains unclear, however, how the frequency of narrow-line velocity splitting may depend on AGN luminosity. Here we study the correlation between the fraction of Type 2 AGNs with double-peaked narrow emission lines and AGN luminosity as indicated by [OIII] {lambda}5007 emission-line luminosity L_[OIII]_. We combine the sample of Liu et al. (2010. Cat. J/ApJ/708/427) at z~0.1 with a new sample of 178 Type 2 AGNs with double-peaked [OIII] emission lines at z~0.5. We select the new sample from a parent sample of 2089 Type 2 AGNs from the SDSS-III/Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey. We find a statistically significant (~4.2{sigma}) correlation between L_[OIII}]_ and the fraction of objects that exhibit double-peaked narrow emission lines among all Type 2 AGNs, corrected for selection bias and incompleteness due to [OIII] line width, equivalent width, splitting velocity, and/or equivalent width ratio between the two velocity components. Our result suggests that galactic-scale outflows and/or merging pairs of SMBHs are more prevalent in more powerful AGNs, although spatially resolved follow-up observations are needed to resolve the origin(s) for the narrow-line velocity splitting for individual AGNs.
