- We report HI-observations of a sample of 43 optically selected galaxies from the Heidelberg-void project. Only emission-line galaxies have been selected. The HI-detection rate was 67%. The observed sample is a mix in late-type morphology objects with a spread in luminosity. They were compared to other samples with similar selection effects and mixtures. The detected galaxies have a high HI content and their M_HI_/L_B_ values are systematically higher than expected from a local field comparison sample. Especially, for the 10 dwarfs in our sample (8.2<=logL_B_<=9.2) which appear to be highly isolated, a mean M_HI_/L_B_=1.8 was derived which is higher than for all comparison samples, including those with the same restricted luminosity range. We discuss a trend in our data between the relative HI-content and the surrounding galaxy density holding from very high densities (Virgo-cluster) to the very isolated objects at the rims of the voids. We also present HI observations of 7 HII-galaxies of the University of Michigan (UM) sample.

- Results of HI observations with the 100-m Effelsberg radio telescope are presented for 94 edge-on spiral galaxies from the Revised Flat Galaxy Catalog (Karachentsev et al., 1999, Cat. <VII/219>) and 14 galaxies from the 2MASS-selected Flat Galaxy Catalog (Mitronova et al., 2004, Bull. Spec. Astron. Obs. Russ. Acad. Sci. 57, 5). The HI line fluxes, heliocentric radial velocities and the HI line widths are given for 65 detected galaxies. Their HI profiles are shown as a mosaic. We calculated some global parameters of the galaxies and discuss linear correlations between them. Total (indicative) mass-to-luminosity ratio for the sample galaxies is ranked within 0.4-8.2 with the mean value 3.8 (M_{sun}_/L_{sun}_), and the mean fraction of hydrogen mass is 0.13. For 43 undetected objects their rms noise is also given.

- We present H I 21-cm line observations of 543 galaxies at low galactic latitude in the Galactic Anticenter region of the Zone of Avoidance (4h<={alpha}<=8h, 0{deg}=<{delta}=<37{deg}). The sample comprises 147 catalogued objects (from UGC, CGCG, MCG, and IRAS) still missing a redshift measurement and a list of 369 objects selected from an extensive optical compilation of galaxy candidates in this area. The spectra were acquired using the 305-m Arecibo telescope and cover a velocity range from -350 to +13800km/s at a resolution of about 16km/s. 196 galaxies were detected,59 of the catalogued ones and 137 from the optical compilation. The H I derived properties are presented, as is a discussion regarding the redshift distribution in this region. Our data seem to be consistent with a link across the Zone of Avoidance between the Pisces-Perseus supercluster and Abell 569.

- A pilot survey has been made to obtain 21cm HI emission line profiles for 197 objects in the zone of avoidance (ZoA) that were classified as galaxies in the 2MASS all-sky near-infrared Extended Source Catalog (2MASX), as well as a further 16 2MASS pre-release working database sources that did not make it into 2MASX. One hundred sixteen of the 2MASX sources and the 16 working database sources were observed using the Nancay radio telescope, usually in the 325 to 11825km/s range, and the other 81 2MASX sources were observed with the Arecibo radio telescope in the -500 to 11000km/s range, and for 9 also in the 9500 to 21000km/s range.

- We carried out a systematic search for nearby dwarf galaxies in the northern sky based on POSS-II film copies. As a result we present a list of 101 nearby dwarf galaxy candidates mainly of low surface brightness which have angular diameters a>0.5'. About two thirds of the objects are new discoveries. This sample is considered as a supplement to the 163 northern dwarf galaxy candidates (1998, Cat., <J/A+AS/127/409>) which have been detected in the same declination range around the known Local Volume galaxies and to the 78 dwarf galaxy candidates (1999A&AS..135..221K) in the Local Void region. All the galaxies were observed in HI with the 100-m Effelsberg radio telescope with a detection rate of 46%. The sample of detected galaxies has the following median parameters: radial velocity V_LG_=+770km/s, HI line width W_50_=46km/s, absolute blue magnitude M_B_=-13.8mag, linear diameter A_0_=2.7kpc, hydrogen mass-to-luminosity ratio M_HI_/L_B_=1.2M_{sun}_/L_{sun}_, and the HI mass-to-total mass ratio M_HI_/M_t_=0.28.

- The presence of HI gas in galaxies is inextricably linked to their morphology and evolution. This paper aims to understand the HI content of the already identified 2210 dwarfs located in the low-to-moderate density environments of the MATLAS deep imaging survey. We combine the HI observations from the ATLAS3D survey, with the extragalactic HI sources from the ALFALFA survey, to extract the HI line width, velocity and mass of the MATLAS dwarfs. From the 1773 dwarfs in our sample with available HI observations, 8% (145) have an HI line detection. The majority of the dwarfs show irregular morphology, while 29% (42) are ellipticals, the largest sample of HI-bearing dwarf ellipticals (dEs) to date. Of the HI dwarf sample, 2% (3) are ultra-diffuse galaxies (UDGs), 12% have a transition-type morphology, 5% are tidal dwarf candidates, and 10% appear to be disrupted objects. In our optically selected sample, 9.5% of the dEs, 7% of the UDGs and 10% of the classical dwarfs are HI-bearing. The HI-bearing dwarfs have on average bluer colors than the dwarfs without detected HI. We find relations between the stellar and HI masses, gas fraction, color and absolute magnitude consistent with previous studies of dwarfs probing similar masses and environments. For 79% of the dwarfs identified as satellites of massive early-type galaxies, we find that the HI mass increases with the projected distance to the host. Using the HI line width, we estimate dynamical masses and find that 5% (7) of the dwarfs are dark matter deficient.

- We present HI observations of 68 early-type disk galaxies from the WHISP survey. They have morphological types between S0 and Sab and absolute B-band magnitudes between -14 and -22. These galaxies form the massive, high surface-brightness extreme of the disk galaxy population, few of which have been imaged in HI before. The HI properties of the galaxies in our sample span a large range; the average values of MHI/LB and DHI/D25 are comparable to the ones found in later-type spirals, but the dispersions around the mean are larger. No significant differences are found between the S0/S0a and the Sa/Sab galaxies.

- According to the cold dark matter (CDM) hierarchical clustering theory of galaxy and large-scale structure formation, there should be numerous low-mass dark matter haloes present in the Universe today. If these haloes contain sufficient stars, they should be detectable as low-luminosity stellar systems or dwarf galaxies. We have previously described a new detection method for faint low surface brightness objects and we have shown that there are relatively large numbers of very faint dwarf galaxies in the nearby Virgo cluster. In this paper, we present results from a similar survey carried out on the Millennium Galaxy strip (MGS, cat. <VII/240>), which runs along the celestial equator and samples a very different galaxy environment.

- These reddening and interstellar extinction estimates are a result of a series of studies presented in the papers 2009AstL...35..780G, 2010AstL...36..584G, 2012AstL...38...12G, 2012AstL...38...87G, 2017AstL...43..472G and finally 2017MNRAS.472.3805G and 2018MNRAS.475.1121G. The key basis of these estimates is the 3D reddening map of Gontcharov (2017AstL...43..472G, 2017PAZh...43..521G, Cat. J/PAZh/43/521). This map has been tested among eight sources of reddening and extinction estimates for nearly 60,000 Gaia DR1 TGAS main sequence stars younger than 3Gyr with a relative error of the Gaia parallax less than 0.1. The sources are tested in their ability to put the stars among the PARSEC and MIST theoretical isochrones in the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram based on the precise Gaia, Tycho-2, 2MASS and WISE photometry. The 3D reddening map of Gontcharov provides both the minimal number of outliers bluer than any reasonable isochrone and the correct number of stars younger than 3Gyr in agreement with the Besancon Galaxy model. In another test Gaia DR1 TGAS parallaxes, Tycho-2 photometry and reddening/extinction estimates from nine data sources for 38,074 giants within 415pc from the Sun are used to compare their position in the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram with theoretical estimates, which are based on the PARSEC and MIST isochrones and the TRILEGAL model of the Galaxy with its parameters being widely varied. We conclude that, again, the estimates from the 3D reddening map of Gontcharov, including the median reddening E(B-V)=0.06mag at |b|>50{deg}, give the best fit of the empirical and theoretical data with each other. Based on these studies we present here the best up-to-date reddening, extinction and extinction-to-reddening estimates for the Gaia DR1 TGAS and Hipparcos stars within 415pc from the Sun. The accuracy of the E(B-V) estimates is proved to be better than 0.04mag everywhere in this space.

- The HI Parkes All-Sky Survey (HIPASS) Catalogue forms the largest uniform catalogue of HI sources compiled to date, with 4315 sources identified purely by their HI content. The catalogue data comprise the southern region DE<+2{deg} of HIPASS, the first blind HI survey to cover the entire southern sky. RMS noise for this survey is 13mJy/beam and the velocity range is -1280 to 12700km/s. Data search, verification and parametrization methods are discussed along with a description of measured quantities. Full catalogue data is made available to the astronomical community including positions, velocities, velocity widths, integrated fluxes and peak flux densities. Also available are on-sky moment maps, position- velocity moment maps and spectra of catalogue sources. A number of local large-scale features are observed in the space distribution of sources including the Super-Galactic plane and the Local Void. Notably, large-scale structure is seen at low Galactic latitudes, a region normally obscured at optical wavelengths.
