- The Infrared Telescope in Space (IRTS) is a cryogenically cooled, small infrared telescope that flew from March - April in 1995. It surveyed approximately 10% of the sky with a relatively wide beam during its 20 day mission. Four focal-plane instruments , the Near-Infrared Spectrometer (NIRS), the Mid-Infrared Spectrometer (MIRS), the Far-Infrared Line Mapper (FILM), and the Far-Infrared Photometer (FIRP) made simultaneous observations of the sky at wavelengths ranging from 1 to 1000 um.

- The Southern H-Alpha Sky Survey Atlas is the product of a wide-angle digital imaging survey of the H-alpha emission from the warm ionized interstellar gas of our Galaxy. This atlas covers the southern hemisphere sky (declinations less than +15 degrees). The observations were taken with a robotic camera operating at Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO) in Chile. The atlas consists of 2168 images covering 542 fields. There are four images available for each field: <b>H-alpha</b>, <b>Continuum</b>, <b>Continuum-Corrected</b> (the difference of the H-alpha and Continuum images), and <b>Smoothed</b> (median filtered to 5 pixel, or 4.0 arcminute, resolution to remove star residuals better). The <a href="https://amundsen.swarthmore.edu/SHASSA">SHASSA website</a> has more details of the data and the status of this and related projects. - z0MGS is an archival project combining WISE and GALEX images of nearby galaxies. The main sample consists of ~11,000 galaxies that are deemed to have >10% probability of being within D %lt; 50 Mpc and of having MB %lt; -18. In addition, in the course of iterating on distance estimates when creating the atlas, the z0MGS team generated images for ~5, 000 additional galaxies. These are also included in the delivery, although they do not meet the formal selection criteria. All galaxies included in the atlas have WISE W1 coverage, at minimum. In total, out of the 15,748 galaxies in DR1, 15,716 have coverage in all WISE bands, 11,687 have GALEX NUV and 10,754 have GALEX FUV. If you use z0MGS data, please cite Leroy et al. (2019)

- The Archive is formed with all files measured with ARcetri Near Infrared CAmera ( ARNICA). Each files contains (in FITS format) or a single exposure or the mean of single exposures taken at the same telescope position. The filer used can be either a Johnson broad band infrared filter (J, H, K), or a narrow band filter (see ARNICA) page for details). Most measures was acquired at the TIRGO telescope, while a smaller sample cames from the few telescopes Arnica was ported to (WHT, NOT, VATT and TNG). All frame are in FITS format and are 256x256 pixels in size. The archive contains more than 250.000 frames. Most files belongs to a compound measure (we call them "a mosaic").

- DOLORES (Device Optimized for the LOw RESolution) is a focal reducer instrument installed at the Nasmyth B focus of the TNG. The detector is a 2048 x 2048 E2V 4240 Thinned back-illuminated, deep-depleted, Astro-BB coated CCD with a pixel size of 13.5 µ. The scale is 0.252 arcsec/px which yields a field of view of about 8.6 x 8.6 arcmin. The instrument allows imaging through broad and narrow band filters as well as spectroscopic observations with resolving powers between RS=~500 and RS=~6000. A multi-slit mode, based on custom masks manufactured by a dedicate cutting machine, is also available. Please note that MOS programs are bound to strict constraints on the number of masks and on the time necessary to design and manufacture them. In particular, each program can request up to a maximum of 5 masks per night and 10 masks per observing run.

- 2MASS data were collected by uniformly scanning the entire sky in three near-infrared bands to detect and characterize point sources brighter than about 1 mJy in each band, with signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) greater than 10, using a pixel size of 2.0". This achieves an 80,000-fold improvement in sensitivity relative to earlier surveys. 2MASS used two new, highly-automated 1.3-m telescopes, one at Mt. Hopkins, AZ, and one at CTIO, Chile. - The UKIDSS survey is the next generation infrared survey, a successor to 2MASS. It will ultimately cover 7000 square degrees in the northern sky at both high and low Galactic latitudes and goes about three magnitudes deeper than 2MASS in the coverage area. Most data is taken in the J, H and K bands. A Y band is available in some regions. <p> UKIDSS is comprised of several distinct surveys in different regions of the sky. Of primary interest to <i>SkyView</i> users (since they have the largest sky coverage) are the Large Area Survey, the Galactic Plane Survey, and the Galactic Clusters Survey. There are deep and ultadeep surveys which cover much smaller fractions of the sky. The planned coverage for the UKIDSS surveys may be seen at the <a href="http://wsa.roe.ac.uk/theSurveys.html"> UKIDSS survey page</a>. All UKIDSS data products are published by the Wide-Field Astronomy Unit (WFAU) at the University of Edinburgh through the <a href="http://wsa.roe.ac.uk/">WFCAM Science Archive (WSA)</a> which includes more detailed coverage information for each data release. <p> <i>SkyView</i> currently uses the DR11 data release. Many thanks to the WSA team at WFAU for providing an interface to make all the latest data easily accessed. - The Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope UIT was one of three ultraviolet telescopes on the ASTRO-1 mission flown on the space shuttle Columbia during 2-10 December 1990. The same three instruments were later flown on the space shuttle Endeavour from 3-17 March 1995, as part of the ASTRO-2 mission. Exposures were obtained on 70-mm photographic film in the 1200-3300 Å range using broadband filters and later digitized using a Perkin-Elmer microdensitometer. Image resolution was 3" over a 40' field of view. Overall, UIT-1 obtained 821 exposures of 66 targets, and UIT-2 obtained 758 images of 193 targets.

- The Very Nearby Galaxy Survey (VNGS) is a Herschel Key Program (KPGT_cwilso01_1) to measure the emission spectrum from dust as well as important cooling lines from the gaseous interstellar medium in a sample of 13 very nearby galaxies (M51, M81, NGC2403, NGC891, M83, M82, Arp220, NGC4038/39, NGC1068, NGC4151, CenA, NGC4125, and NGC205). These galaxies have been chosen to probe as wide a region in galaxy parameter space as possible while maximizing the achievable spatial resolution and are already well-studied from X-ray and optical through to radio wavelengths. The far-infrared and submillimeter wavelengths probed by Herschel are absolutely crucial for understanding the physical processes and properties of the interstellar medium, the interplay between star formation and the interstellar medium in galaxies, and how they may depend on the wider galaxian environment.

- The VLA-A Texas Survey consists of a sample of objects extracted from the earlier Texas Interferometer 365 MHz Survey of radio sources covering a strip of sky from approximately -35.5 degrees declination to +71.5 degrees declination, and complete to flux densities of 0.25 Jy, with positional accuracies of ~1 arcsecond in RA and DEC. The sample is a subset of 71 sources drawn from the area of one optical Schmidt sky survey plate (covering ~6.5x6.5 degrees), Region S861, centered at approximately RA=190.640822109, DEC=-0.273834224277 (J2000), from the UK Schmidt SRC-J Survey. The Region S861 was initially chosen because it represented the combination of the deepest UK Schmidt plate material (the best optical survey material available at the time of the sample definition in 1989) and the highest galactic latitude, thereby emphasizing the extragalactic nature of the survey and also maximizing the likelihood of having more optical detections. Much more recently, the area of this plate has been covered by a number of important sky surveys including 2MASS, NRAO VLA FIRST, and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) which is now public. In particular, the availability of the Sloan Survey data provides 5-band ugriz color information at optical wavelengths, to depth of g,r=22.2.

- Faint Images of the Radio Sky at Twenty-cm (FIRST) is a systematic survey of the North and South Galactic caps begun in 1993, using the NRAO Very Large Array (VLA) . Typical images are comprised of 1150x1550 1.8" pixels with 5" resolution. Source catalogs are also available including peak and integrated flux densities generated from the high resolution coadded images. The survey yields very accurate (<1 arcsec rms) radio positions of faint (>1 mJy/beam) compact sources. The areas observed were chosen to coincide with the Sloan Digital Sky Survey.

- This survey is a deep, high resolution radio survey of a relatively small region that has particularly deep coverage in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. As described in the reference abstract: This is a high-resolution radio survey of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Southern Equatorial Stripe, a.k.a., Stripe 82. This 1.4 GHz survey was conducted from 2007 to 2009 with the Very Large Array primarily in the A-configuration, with supplemental B-configuration data to increase sensitivity to extended structure. The survey has an angular resolution of 1.8" and achieves a median rms noise of 53 microJy/beam over 92 square degrees. This is the deepest 1.4 GHz survey to achieve this large of an area filling in the phase space between small&deep and large&shallow surveys. <p> The astrometric accuracy of the data is excellent with errors in observed sources of 0.10" in both RA and declination. A comparison with the SDSS DR7 Quasar Catalog confirms that the astrometry is well tied to the optical reference frame with mean offsets of 0.02+/-0.01" in RA and 0.01+/-0.02 in declination. - These are 1.4GHz Very Long Baseline Interferometry images of 532 radio sources with a flux density exceeding 100uJy as determined by Ibar et al. (2009, MNRAS, 397, 281), obtained between 2010-06-03 and 2010-09-03. For all fields, we give frames processed using natural weighting to preserve maximal sensitivity. For the 65 detected sources, we additionally give frames processed using uniform weighting to suppress sidelobes (see Middelberg et al. 2013, A&A 551, 97 for details) in flux density measurements. Some sources have larger images to cover a larger area because the initial coordinates were not sufficiently accurate.

WISE achieved a 5 sigma point source sensitivities better and 0.08, 0.11 1 and 6 mJy in unconfused regions on the ecliptic in the four bands. Sensitivity improves toward the ecliptic poles due to denser coverage and lower zodaical background. <p> The WISE All-WISE includes all data taking during the WISE full cryogenic phase, from January 7, 2010 to August 6, 2010, that were processed with improved calibrations and reduction algorithms and combines this with the NEOWISE postcryogenic survey to form the most comprehensive view of the full mid-infrared sky. bibcode=1995ApJ...451..564V,2010ApJ...713..912W <hr> <p> SkyView includes the four WISE bands as separate surveys. - These survey represents a combination of the 9-year data combined in a way that is intended to minimize the contribution from the galaxy. The data measure the temperature deviation from a uniform black body. <p> The original data are available at the <https://lambda.gsfc.nasa.gov>LAMBDA archive</a>. <p> The original data are stored in HEALPix pixels. SkyView treats HEALPix as a standard projection but assumes that the HEALPix data is in a projection plane with a rotation of -45 degrees. The rotation transforms the HEALPix pixels from diamonds to squares so that the boundaries of the pixels are treated properly. The special HealPixImage class is used so that SkyView can use the HEALPix FITS files directly. - This is the XMM-Newton Master Catalog and Public Archive table which has been created from information supplied to the HEASARC by the XMM-Newton Project. It is periodically updated as necessary. This database table contains the list of observations which have already been made by the XMM-Newton observatory, as well as those which are scheduled to be made in the near future (usually a a few weeks to a month ahead of the present). It does not contain observations which are scheduled to be performed further in the future, nor does it contain accepted observations which have not yet been scheduled. The list of all accepted XMM-Newton observations, including a number of ones which are unlikely to ever be carried out, such as accepted priority C targets, is available in the XMMAO Browse table. This table includes entries for both pointed data and for data obtained during spacecraft slews. The slew observations all have obsid values beginning with the digit 9 and, because they were not made at a fixed position, lack any positional information such as RA and Declination. Some XMM-Newton observations for which the archived data has become publicly available as indicated by the public_date parameter value, i.e., the proprietary period has expired, are not currently available at the HEASARC: such cases will have values of 'N' for the data_in_heasarc parameter. - The Newton X-ray Multi-Mirror Mission (XMM) was launched in December, 1999 with a projected lifetime of 10 years. Although intended primarily as an X-ray observatory, XMM included a small but powerful optical/UV 30 cm telescope co-aligned with the X-ray telescopes for contemporaneous observations. The modified Ritchey-Chretien telescope is capable of detecting 24th magnitude sources in its 17 arcmin field of view. It provides images in the 160-600nm wave band with 1 arcsec resolution.
