- Balmer Lines Photometric Data
- Short Name:
- II/63A
- Date:

- Publisher:

- Description:
- The purpose of the catalogue is to collect the photometric determination of the Balmer line-strength. Eleven different systems, including the measurements of one or more lines, from H{alpha} to H{delta}, have been found when surveying the literature. These include alpha, beta, gamma, alpha, beta, beta, gamma, and alpha, beta, gamma from various authors. The Stroemgren H{beta} photometry is not not included in this version.

- Hydrogen Lyman and Balmer line profiles
- Short Name:

- Description:
- We present new calculations of unified line profiles for hydrogen perturbed by collisions with protons. We report on new calculations of the potential energies and dipole moments which allow the evaluation of profiles for the lines of the Lyman series up to Lyman {delta} and the Balmer series up to Balmer 10. Unified calculations only existed for the lines Lyman {alpha} to Lyman {gamma} and Balmer {alpha} including the H_2_^+^ quasi-molecule. These data are available as online material accompanying this paper and should be included in atmosphere models, in place of the Stark effect of protons, since the quasi-molecular contributions cause not only satellites, but large asymmetries that are unaccounted for in models that assume that Stark broadening of electrons and that of protons are equal.

- Spectral Investigation of NGC 7469
- Short Name:
- J/AZh/71/200
- Date:

- Publisher:
- CDS
- Description:
- This investigation is mainly related to hydrogen lines in the spectrum of NGC 7469 from the 1972-1990 data obtained using an image tube on the 2.6-m telescope of the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory. The decomposition of the hydrogen lines into broad and narrow components was performed. Variations in the intensities and broad-component contours were observed. One third of the spectrograms showed a broad, symmetric Ha line, while the others showed asymmetry: the blue wings fall more steeply than the red ones. The degree of asymmetry is variable, but no correlation between it and the brightness of the nucleus was found. This asymmetry becomes weaker when passing to higher members of the Balmer series. The halfwidths of the broad components increase from Ha to H{gamma}. Redshifts of broad components with respect to narrow ones might also be larger for higher members of the Balmer series. Intensities of the broad hydrogen lines follow continuum variations with a delay of about 28 days. The Balmer decrement for broad lines is much flatter than for narrow ones.

- Spectropolarimetry of active galaxy 3C 390.3

- Description:
- Here we present the spectropolarimetric observations of the radio-loud active galaxy 3C 390.3 in the period 2009-2014 (24 epochs). The galaxy has been observed with the 6-m telescope of Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Science (SAO RAS) using the Spectral Camera with Optical Reducer for Photometric and Interferometric Observations (SCORPIO) spectropolarimeter. We explore the variability and lags in the polarized light of the continuum and broad H{alpha} line. We give the Stokes parameters Q, U, degree of linear polarization P and the position angle of the polarization plane, {phi}, for 24 epochs. We find a small lag (10-40 d) between the unpolarized and polarized continuum that is significantly smaller than the estimated lags for the unpolarized broad emission lines (lag(H{alpha}) ~138-186 and lag(H{beta}) ~60-79 d). This shows that the region of the variable polarized continuum is significantly smaller than the broad line region, indicating that a part of the polarized continuum is coming from the jet. The lag of the polarized light in the H{alpha} line (89-156 d) indicates an additional component to the disc one that has an outflowing velocity of ~-1200 km/s. This region seems to depolarize the polarized broad H{alpha} line emitted from the disc and scattered in the inner part of the torus.
