- This Catalog of Star-Forming Regions in the Galaxy contains coordinates and fluxes of young objects in the radio and infrared, as well as data on the radial velocities of recombination and molecular lines, for more than three thousand star-forming regions. In addition to photometric and kinematic data, we present information on diffuse and reflecting nebulae, dark and molecular clouds, and other objects related to young stars. The catalog consists of two parts. The main catalog lists star-forming regions in order of Galactic longitude and is supplemented by analogous information for star-forming regions in complexes of dark clouds with large angular sizes that are closest to the Sun. In our preliminary study of the catalog data using a formal classification of the star-forming regions, we subdivided these objects into several classes and characterized them as being populated primarily by massive or low-mass stars at early or late stages of the star-formation process. We also distinguish between relatively nearby and distant complexes.

- We update the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC), Bridge and Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) catalogues of extended objects that were constructed by members of our group from 1995 to 2000. In addition to the rich subsequent literature for the previous classes, we now also include HI shells and supershells. A total of 9305 objects were cross-identified, while our previous catalogues amounted to 7900 entries, an increase of ~12 per cent. We present the results in subcatalogues containing 1445 emission nebulae, 3740 star clusters, 3326 associations and 794 HI shells and supershells. Angular and apparent size distributions of the extended objects are analysed. We conclude that the objects, in general, appear to respond to tidal effects arising from the LMC, SMC and Bridge. Number-density profiles extracted along directions parallel and perpendicular to the LMC bar, can be described by two exponential-discs. A single exponential-disc fits the equivalent SMC profiles. Interestingly, when angular-averaged number-densities of most of the extended objects are considered, the profiles of both Clouds do not follow an exponential-disc. Rather, they are best described by a tidally truncated, core/halo profile, despite the fact that the Clouds are clearly disturbed discs. On the other hand, the older star clusters taken isolately, distribute as an exponential disc. The present catalogue is an important tool for the unambiguous identification of previous objects in current CCD surveys and to establish new findings.

- A catalogue is given of all BD and CD stars north of -33deg which are surrounded by reflection nebulosity visible on both the blue and red prints of the Palomar Sky Survey. The nearer reflection nebulae lie predominantly along Gould's Belt, whereas the more distant ones are concentrated to the galactic plane. The data outline 13 associations of reflection nebulae, some of which coincide with known OB or T associations. Attention is drawn to the fact that most reflection nebulae are illuminated by the integrated light of the Milky Way. The integrated radiation will be more intense above and below the galactic plane then in the galactic plane where the nuclear bulge of the Galaxy and most of the disk are obscured by interstellar absorption.

- We present a catalog of ~14000 X-ray sources observed by the ACIS instrument on the Chandra X-ray Observatory within a 1.42deg^2^ survey of the Great Nebula in Carina, known as the Chandra Carina Complex Project (CCCP). This study appears in a special issue devoted to the CCCP. Here, we describe the data reduction and analysis procedures performed on the X-ray observations, including calibration and cleaning of the X-ray event data, point-source detection, and source extraction. The catalog appears to be complete across most of the field to an absorption-corrected total-band luminosity of ~10^30.7^erg/s for a typical low-mass pre-main-sequence star. Counterparts to the X-ray sources are identified in a variety of visual, near-infrared, and mid-infrared surveys. The X-ray and infrared source properties presented here form the basis of many CCCP studies of the young stellar populations in Carina.

- The Chandra Carina Complex Project (CCCP) provides a sensitive X-ray survey of a nearby starburst region over >1deg^2^ in extent. Thousands of faint X-ray sources are found, many concentrated into rich young stellar clusters. However, significant contamination from unrelated Galactic and extragalactic sources is present in the X-ray catalog. We describe the use of a Naive Bayes classifier to assign membership probabilities to individual sources, based on source location, X-ray properties, and visual/infrared properties. For the particular membership decision rule adopted, 75% of CCCP sources are classified as members, 11% are classified as contaminants, and 14% remain unclassified. The resulting sample of stars likely to be Carina members is used in several other studies, which appear in this special issue devoted to the CCCP.

- The light curves of Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) are powered by the radioactive decay of ^56^Ni to ^56^Co at early times, and the decay of ^56^Co to ^56^Fe from ~60 d after explosion. We examine the evolution of the [CoIII] {lambda}5893 emission complex during the nebular phase for SNe Ia with multiple nebular spectra and show that the line flux follows the square of the mass of ^56^Co as a function of time. This result indicates both efficient local energy deposition from positrons produced in ^56^Co decay and long-term stability of the ionization state of the nebula. We compile SN Ia nebular spectra from the literature and present 21 new late-phase spectra of 7 SNe Ia, including SN 2014J. From these we measure the flux in the [CoIII] {lambda}5893 line and remove its well-behaved time dependence to infer the initial mass of ^56^Ni (M_Ni_) produced in the explosion. We then examine ^56^Ni yields for different SN Ia ejected masses (M_ej_ - calculated using the relation between light-curve width and ejected mass) and find that the ^56^Ni masses of SNe Ia fall into two regimes: for narrow light curves (low stretch s~0.7-0.9), M_Ni_ is clustered near M_Ni_~0.4M_{sun}_ and shows a shallow increase as M_ej_ increases from ~1 to 1.4M_{sun}_; at high stretch, M_ej_ clusters at the Chandrasekhar mass (1.4M_{sun}_) while M_Ni_ spans a broad range from 0.6 to 1.2M_{sun}_. This could constitute evidence for two distinct SN Ia explosion mechanisms.
