- We present a large, uniform analysis of young (~10-150Myr) ultracool dwarfs, based on new high-precision infrared (IR) parallaxes for 68 objects. We find that low-gravity (VL-G) late-M and L dwarfs form a continuous sequence in IR color-magnitude diagrams, separate from the field population and from current theoretical models. These VL-G objects also appear distinct from young substellar (brown dwarf and exoplanet) companions, suggesting that the two populations may have a different range of physical properties. In contrast, at the L/T transition, young, old, and spectrally peculiar objects all span a relatively narrow range in near-IR absolute magnitudes. At a given spectral type, the IR absolute magnitudes of young objects can be offset from ordinary field dwarfs, with the largest offsets occurring in the Y and J bands for late-M dwarfs (brighter than the field) and mid-/late-L dwarfs (fainter than the field). Overall, low-gravity (VL-G) objects have the most uniform photometric behavior, while intermediate gravity (INT-G) objects are more diverse, suggesting a third governing parameter beyond spectral type and gravity class. We examine the moving group membership for all young ultracool dwarfs with parallaxes, changing the status of 23 objects (including 8 previously identified planetary-mass candidates) and fortifying the status of another 28 objects. We use our resulting age-calibrated sample to establish empirical young isochrones and show a declining frequency of VL-G objects relative to INT-G objects with increasing age. Notable individual objects in our sample include high-velocity (>~100km/s) INT-G objects, very red late-L dwarfs with high surface gravities, candidate disk-bearing members of the MBM20 cloud and {beta} Pic moving group, and very young distant interlopers. Finally, we provide a comprehensive summary of the absolute magnitudes and spectral classifications of young ultracool dwarfs, using a combined sample of 102 objects found in the field and as substellar companions to young stars.

- We present parallaxes, proper motions, and J-band photometry for 348 L and T dwarfs measured using the wide-field near-infrared camera (WFCAM) on the United Kingdom Infrared Telescope (UKIRT). This is the largest single batch of infrared parallaxes for brown dwarfs to date. Our parallaxes have a median uncertainty of 3.5mas, similar to most previous ground-based infrared parallax surveys. Our target list was designed to complete a volume-limited parallax sample of L0-T8 dwarfs out to 25pc spanning declinations -30{deg} to +60{deg} (68% of the sky). We report the first parallaxes for 165 objects, and we improve on previous measurements for another 53 objects. Our targets include 104 objects (mostly early-L dwarfs) having Gaia DR2 parallax measurements with which our parallaxes are consistent. We include an extensive comparison of previous literature parallaxes for L and T dwarfs with both our results and Gaia DR2 measurements, identifying systematic offsets for some previous surveys. Our parallaxes confirm that 14 objects previously identified as wide common proper motion companions to main-sequence stars have distances consistent with companionship. We also report new J_MKO_ photometry for our targets, including the first measurements for 193 of our targets and improvements over previously published J_MKO_ photometry for another 60 targets. Altogether, our parallaxes will enable the first population studies using a volume-limited sample spanning spectral types L0-T8 defined entirely by parallaxes.

- We report the results of an extensive spectroscopic survey of galaxies in the roughly 160 arcmin^2^ ACS-GOODS region surrounding the Hubble Deep Field North (HDF-N). We have identified 892 galaxies or stars with z<24, R<24.5, or B<25 in the region. The spectra were obtained with either the DEIMOS or LRIS spectrographs on the Keck 10m telescopes. The results are compared with photometric redshift estimates and with redshifts from the literature, as well as with the redshifts of a parallel effort led by a group at Keck. Our sample, when combined with the literature data, provides identifications for 1324 sources. We use our results to determine the redshift distributions with magnitude, to analyze the rest-frame color distributions with redshift and spectral type, and to investigate the dependence of the X-ray galaxy properties on the local galaxy density in the redshift interval z=0-1.5. We find the rather surprising result that the galaxy X-ray properties are not strongly dependent on the local galaxy density for galaxies in the same luminosity range.

- We present calibrations for star formation rate (SFR) indicators in the ultraviolet, mid-infrared, and radio-continuum bands, including one of the first direct calibrations of 150MHz as an SFR indicator. Our calibrations utilize 66 nearby star-forming galaxies with Balmer-decrement-corrected H{alpha} luminosities, which span five orders of magnitude in SFR and have absolute magnitudes of -24<M_r_{<}-12. Most of our photometry and spectrophotometry are measured from the same region of each galaxy, and our spectrophotometry has been validated with SDSS photometry, so our random and systematic errors are small relative to the intrinsic scatter seen in SFR indicator calibrations. We find that the Wide-field Infrared Space Explorer W4 (22.8{mu}m), Spitzer 24{mu}m, and 1.4GHz bands have tight correlations with the Balmer-decrement-corrected H{alpha} luminosity, with a scatter of only 0.2dex. Our calibrations are comparable to those from the prior literature for L* galaxies, but for dwarf galaxies, our calibrations can give SFRs that are far greater than those derived from most previous literature.

- We describe the hCOSMOS redshift survey of the COSMOS field conducted with the Hectospec spectrograph on the MMT. In the central 1deg^2^, the hCOS20.6 subset of the survey is >90% complete to a limiting magnitude r=20.6. The hCOSMOS survey includes 1701 new redshifts in the COSMOS field. We also use the total of 4362 new and remeasured objects to derive the age-sensitive D_n_4000 index over the entire redshift interval 0.001<~z<~0.6. For 85% of the quiescent galaxies in hCOS20.6, we measure the central line-of-sight velocity dispersion. To explore potential uses of this survey, we combine previously measured galaxy sizes, profiles, and stellar masses with the spectroscopy. The comparison reveals the known relations among structural, kinematic, and stellar population properties. We also compare redshift and D_n_4000 distributions of hCOS20.6 galaxies with SHELS; a complete spectroscopic survey of 4deg^2^ observed to the same depth. The redshift distributions in the two fields are very different, but the D_n_4000 distribution is remarkably similar. The relation between velocity dispersion and stellar mass for massive hCOS20.6 galaxies is consistent with the local relation from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. Using measured velocity dispersions, we test a photometric proxy calibrated to galaxies in the local universe. The systematic differences between the measured and photometric proxy velocity dispersions are correlated with galaxy dynamical and stellar population properties highlighting the importance of direct spectroscopic measurements.

- Table 2 contains 408 simultaneous measurements collected in each of the four uvby colours of the Stromgren photometric system for the W UMa system HD 163151. The data are magnitude differences (Du, Dv, Db, Dy, D(b-y), Dm1, Dc1) of the variable star minus comparison star in the standard system versus Heliocentric Julian Day. Tables 3, 4 and 5 are the same, but for H{beta} (65 points), Johnson B data (212 points) and Johnson V data (355 points). The comparison star is HD 166095. The origin in time is the Julian Day 2449858. The observations were carried out (by E. Rodriguez, A. Claret, J.M. Garcia, F.M. Zerbi, R. Garrido, S. Martin, C. Akan, K. Luedeke, V. Keskin, C. Ibanoglu, S. Evren, Z. Tunca, R. Pekunlu, M. Paparo, J. Nuspl, K. Krisciunas and S.Y. Jiang) in 1995 during the course of a multisite campaign. - Using the newly available infrared images of the Hubble Deep Field in the J, H, and K bands and an optimal photometric method, we have refined a technique to estimate the redshifts of 1067 galaxies. A detailed comparison of our results with the spectroscopic redshifts in those cases where the latter are available shows that this technique gives very good results for bright enough objects [AB(814nm)<26.0]. From a study of the distribution of residuals [{Delta}z_rms_/(1+z)~0.1 at all redshifts], we conclude that the observed errors are mainly due to cosmic variance. This very important result allows for the assessment of errors in quantities to be directly or indirectly measured from the catalog. We present some of the statistical properties of the ensemble of galaxies in the catalog, and we finish by presenting a list of bright high-redshift (z~5) candidates extracted from our catalog together with recent spectroscopic redshift determinations confirming that two of them are at z=5.34 and z=5.60.

- We present a catalogue of galaxies in the HDF-S, created using the public version 1 images of the WFPC2 data. We created a catalogue with 4 pass-band (I(814), V(606), B(450), U(300). In V(606), B(450), U(300) and I(814), for each galaxy the catalogue gives photometric parameters. For the I(814), we estimated also the colours and for I(814)<26, the petrosian radius, the mean surface brightness within the petrosian radius, light concentration indexes, that is C_eta_ and C_abr_, and the asymmetry index as computed by Abraham software.

- We present the first results from the Faint Infra-Red Extragalactic Survey of the Hubble Deep Field South (HDF-S). Using a combination of deep near-infrared (NIR) data obtained with the Infrared Spectrograph and Array Camera at the VLT and the WFPC2 Hubble Space Telescope data, we construct a K-band-selected sample which is 50% and 90% complete for K_s,AB_<=23.5 and K_s,AB_<=22.0, respectively, where the magnitudes are measured over a 2.0" diameter aperture. For z<=3, our selection by the K-band flux chooses galaxies based on wavelengths redder than the rest-frame V band, and so selects them in a way that is less dependent on their current star formation rates than selection in the rest-frame UV.

- The SB2 binary HD 59435 hosts a yellow giant and a magnetic Ap star, the latter being the secondary (Wade et al., 1996, Cat. <J/A+A/314/491>) and exhibiting spectral lines resolved into their magnetically-split components. Additional measurements of the magnetic field modulus of the Ap secondary are reported, as well as additional radial velocities for both components and photometric magnitudes and colours in the Geneva system. The magnetic field modulus varies with a period of about 1360 days. For a general description of the Geneva photometric system, see e.g. <GCPD/13>
