- Since methyl formate (O=CH-O-CH_3_) is found to have a high abundance in Hot molecular cores and other types of clouds in the galactic center, it is reasonable to search among such sources for detectable abundances of the more complex analog ethyl formate (O=CH-OOC_2_H_5_). Following a previous study of the millimeter-wave spectrum of ethyl formate, we have extended the analysis of the vibrational ground state of the trans and gauche conformers of ethyl formate into the submillimeter-wave range. Over 2200 new spectral lines have been measured and analyzed at frequencies up to 380GHz. Fitting the data for each conformer to a Watson A-reduced asymmetric-top Hamiltonian has allowed us to predict the frequencies and intensities of many more transitions through 380GHz.

- We present the detection of [CII] 158um emission from the Spiderweb galaxy at z=2.1612 using the Atacama Pathfinder EXperiment. The line profile splits into an active galactic nucleus (AGN) and circum galactic medium (CGM) component previously identified in CO and [CI]. We find that these individual [CII] components are consistent in terms of CO and far-IR luminosity ratios with the populations of other z>~1 AGN and dusty star-forming galaxies. The CGM component dominates the [CII] emission in the 10" APEX beam. Although we do not have spatially resolved data, the close correspondence of the velocity profile with the CO(1-0) detected only on scales of tens of kiloparsecs in CO(1-0) suggests that the [CII] emission is similarly extended, reminiscent of [CII] halos recently found around z>5 galaxies. Comparing the first four ionization states of carbon, we find that the atomic [CI] emission is dominant, which increases its reliability as a molecular mass tracer. Our [CII] detection at 601.8 GHz also demonstrates the feasibility to extend the frequency range of ALMA Band 9 beyond the original specifications.

- The Spitzer Atlas of Stellar Spectra (SASS) includes 159 stellar spectra (5 to 32um; R~100) taken with the Infrared Spectrograph (IRS) on the Spitzer Space Telescope. It gathers representative spectra of a broad section of the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram, intended to serve as a general stellar spectral reference in the mid-infrared. It includes stars from all luminosity classes, as well as Wolf-Rayet (WR) objects. Furthermore, it includes some objects of intrinsic interest, like blue stragglers and certain pulsating variables. All the spectra have been uniformly reduced.

We build a linelist that should allow us to detect HCOOCD_2_H, provided it is present in the interstellar media in a suitable concentration.

- We observed the proto brown dwarf candidate SSTB213 J041757 with the Submillimeter Array to search for CO molecular outflow emission from the source. Our CO maps do not show any outflow emission from the proto brown dwarf candidate. The non-detection implies that the molecular outflows from the source are weak; deeper observations are therefore needed to probe the outflows from the source.

- We present the results of observations of 1882 sources in the Bolocam Galactic Plane Survey (BGPS) at 1.1mm with the 10m Henrich Hertz Telescope simultaneously in HCO^+^J=3-2 and N_2_H^+^J=3-2. We detect 77% of these sources in HCO^+^ and 51% in N_2_H^+^ at greater than 3{sigma}. We find a strong correlation between the integrated intensity of both dense gas tracers and the 1.1mm dust emission of BGPS sources. We determine kinematic distances for 529 sources (440 in the first quadrant breaking the distance ambiguity and 89 in the second quadrant). We derive the size, mass, and average density for this subset of clumps. The median size of BGPS clumps is 0.75pc with a median mass of 330M_{sun}_ (assuming T_Dust_=20K). BGPS clumps represent a wide range of objects (from dense cores to more diffuse clumps) and are typically characterized by larger sizes and lower densities than previously published surveys of high-mass star-forming regions.

- Glycolaldehyde (HOCH_2_CHO) is a sugar-related interstellar prebiotic molecule that has been detected in two star-forming regions, Sgr B2(N) and G31.41+0.31. Glycolaldehyde is suspected to form from photodissociation-driven ice chemistry, and therefore can be used to trace complex organic chemistry in interstellar environments. The relative abundance of glycolaldehyde to its structural isomers, methyl formate (HCOOCH_3_) and acetic acid (CH_3_COOH), can be used to constrain astrochemical models. Given its central role in the complex chemistry of the interstellar medium, glycolaldehyde has been suggested as a prime molecular target for upcoming high-frequency molecular line searches using new far-infrared observatories. In particular, glycolaldehyde is a target for the Herschel Space Observatory HEXOS Key Program, which is conducting spectral line surveys of the Sgr B2(N) and Orion KL star-forming regions across the entire HIFI band. Laboratory investigation of glycolaldehyde in the HIFI frequency range is required before its lines can be identified in these spectra. We have therefore acquired the laboratory spectrum of glycolaldehyde in selected frequency ranges across the submillimeter range. We present here the laboratory spectral analysis of the ground vibrational state of glycolaldehyde up to 1.2THz.

- Laboratory spectral recordings and accurate molecular spectral analysis of any potential interstellar molecule are essential to generate a complete spectroscopic line list. This permits the prediction of the frequencies and intensities of any transition for its subsequent identification in the interstellar medium. Present analysis of DCOOCH_3_ is aimed to provide a comprehensive spectral catalog that encompasses as much as possible the frequency coverage of the new generation far-IR and submillimeter wave observation facilities. A new measurement of the rotational spectrum of DCOOCH_3_ has been carried out in the JPL laboratory in the frequency range from 0.85 to 1.5 THz. The new data were analyzed jointly with literature data using the Rho Axis Method (RAM), a tool developed for the spectral analysis of molecules with large amplitude internal CH_3_ rotors. Twenty seven spectroscopic constants of DCOOCH_3_ have been fitted to 3763 transitions with maximum values of J=69 and Ka=36 of the ground torsional state with a standard (unitless) deviation of 0.97. With respect to prior work, this is a significantly better result that was obtained with 2060 more transitions while also achieving a better accuracy for the new parameter values.
