- The Herschel Virgo Cluster Survey (HeViCS) is the deepest, confusion-limited survey of the Virgo Cluster at far-infrared (FIR) wavelengths. The entire survey at full depth covers ~55deg^2^ in five bands (100-500um), encompassing the areas around the central dominant elliptical galaxies (M87, M86 and M49) and extends as far as the NW cloud, the W cloud and the Southern extension. The survey extends beyond this region with lower sensitivity so that the total area covered is 84 deg2. In this paper we describe the data, the data acquisition techniques and present the detection rates of the optically selected Virgo Cluster Catalogue (VCC). We detect 254 (34%) of 750 VCC galaxies found within the survey boundary in at least one band and 171 galaxies are detected in all five bands. For the remainder of the galaxies we have measured strict upper limits for their FIR emission.

- Spitzer data at 24, 70, and 160um and ground-based H{alpha} images are analyzed for a sample of 189 nearby star-forming and starburst galaxies to investigate whether reliable star formation rate (SFR) indicators can be defined using the monochromatic infrared dust emission centered at 70 and 160um. We compare recently published recipes for SFR measures using combinations of the 24um and observed H{alpha} luminosities with those using 24um luminosity alone. From these comparisons, we derive a reference SFR indicator for use in our analysis. Linear correlations between SFR and the 70um and 160um luminosity are found for L(70)>~1.4x10^42^erg/s and L(160)>~2x10^42^erg/s, corresponding to SFR>~0.1-0.3M_{sun}_/yr, and calibrations of SFRs based on L(70) and L(160) are proposed. Below those two luminosity limits, the relation between SFR and 70um (160um) luminosity is nonlinear and SFR calibrations become problematic. A more important limitation is the dispersion of the data around the mean trend, which increases for increasing wavelength.

- We present the catalogs and source counts for the C_90_ (reference wavelength of 90um) and C_160_ (170um) bands, which were extracted from our analysis of an ISO deep far-infrared survey conducted as part of the Japan/UH ISO cosmology project. The total survey area is ~0.9deg^2^ in two fields within the Lockman Hole. The analysis consists of source extraction using the IRAF DAOPHOT package and simulations carried out by adding artificial sources to the maps to estimate the detection rate, the flux bias, the positional accuracy, and the noise.

- The Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE), launched on June 24, 1999, covers the 905-1187 Å spectral region and will obtain high resolution spectra of hot and cool stars, AGNs, supernova remnants, planetary nebulae, solar system objects as well as perform detailed studies of the interstellar medium. FUSE will be able to observe sources 10 000 times fainter than Copernicus, an early FUV mission, and has superior resolving power than the Hopkins Ultraviolet Telescope (HUT) and the Berkeley Spectrograph (BEFS) and the Tübingen Echelle Spectrograph (TUES) of the Orbiting Retrievable Far and Extreme Ultraviolet Spectrometers (ORFEUS). FUSE was planned for a 3 year lifetime with funding for an additional 2 years expected.

- The Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (UVIT) on board the AstroSat observatory has imaged the Andromeda galaxy (M31) from 2017 to 2019 in the far- and near-UV (FUV and NUV) with the high spatial resolution of ~1". The survey covered the large sky area of M31 with a set of observations (Fields), each 28' in diameter. Field 1 was observed in two epochs with the F148W filter, separated by ~1133days (~3.10yr). The 6.4kpc diameter Field 1 (at the distance of M31) includes a substantial part of the inner spiral arms of the galaxy. We identify UVIT sources in both epochs of Field 1 and obtain catalogs of sources that are variable in FUV at >3{sigma} and >5{sigma} confidence level. The fraction of FUV-variable sources is higher for brighter sources, and the fraction is higher in the two main spiral arms compared to other areas. This is evidence that a significant fraction of the FUV variables are associated with hot young stars. Source counterparts are found for 42 of the 86 >5{sigma} FUV variables using existing catalogs. The counterparts include 10 star clusters, 6 HII regions, 5 regular or semiregular variables, 6 other variables, and 6 nova or nova candidates. The UVIT FUV-NUV and FUV-FUV color-magnitude diagrams confirm the association of most of the FUV variables with hot young stars. A catalog of UVIT photometry for the variable sources is presented.

- The UV observations of FAUST are analysed in four sky fields (Dor, Cen, M81 and Tel), located in the general direction of the Fourth Galactic Quadrant, where 777 UV sources are detected, about 50% more than detected originally by Bowyer et al. (1993ApJ...415..875B). Ground-based objective-prism information for two of the fields were used to select the best-matching optical objects with which to identify the UV sources. Using this, and correlations with existing catalogues, reliable identifications are presented for about 75% of the sources. Most of the remaining sources have assigned optical counterparts but, lacking additional information, we offer only plausible identifications. FAUST is a wide-field telescope (7.6{deg} diameter) designed to image diffuse and point sources in the wavelength range 140-180nm. The experiment, the mission and the data are described in a previous paper by Bowyer et al., 1993ApJ...415..875B .

- The twelfth list of blue stellar objects in the second part of the First Byurakan Spectral Sky Survey (FBS) is presented. This list contains 143 objects in the region -3{deg}<DE<+1{deg} at high latitudes with an area of approximately 992 square degrees (62 fields). The objects have magnitudes V of 11.8-18.1 and B-V colors ranging from -0.82 to +0.81. Of the 143 objects, 51 have been discovered for the first time. Equatorial coordinates, V magnitudes, color indices, and preliminary classifications of the objects are given. DSS identification charts are given for the newly discovered objects.

- The relation between the Ultra Compact Dwarf galaxies (hereafter UCDs) recently discovered in the Fornax cluster (Drinkwater et al., 2003Natur.423..519D; Mieske et al., 2002, Cat. <J/A+A/383/823>) and the brightest globular clusters associated with the central galaxy NGC 1399 has been investigated in the spectroscopic Fornax Compact Object Survey FCOS. FCOS was carried out with the 2.5m du Pont telescope at Las Campanas, in the three nights of 2002/12/04 to 2002/12/06. Mieske et al. (2002, Cat. <J/A+A/383/823>) deals with the first part FCOS-1, this paper deals with the larger FCOS-2. The spectral resolution of FCOS was approx. 4{AA}. In the FCOS, 280 unresolved objects with 0<(V-I)<1.5mag in the magnitude space covering UCDs and bright globular clusters (18<V<21mag) were observed spectroscopically, among them 185 in FCOS-2. In the entire FCOS-sample there are five already known UCDs and 54 new Fornax members, 12 from FCOS-1 and 42 from FCOS-2.

- We present a multi-wavelength study of the gaseous medium surrounding the nearby active galactic nucleus (AGN), Fornax A. Using MeerKAT, ALMA, and MUSE observations, we reveal a complex distribution of the atomic (HI), molecular (CO 1-0), and ionised gas in its centre and along the radio jets. By studying the multi-scale kinematics of the multi-phase gas, we reveal the presence of concurrent AGN feeding and feedback phenomena. Several clouds and an extended 3kpc filament - perpendicular to the radio jets and the inner disc (r<4.5kpc) - show highly-turbulent kinematics, which likely induces non-linear condensation and subsequent chaotic cold accretion (CCA) onto the AGN. In the wake of the radio jets and in an external (r>4.5kpc) ring, we identify an entrained massive (~10^7^M_{sun}_) multi-phase outflow (v_OUT_~2000km/s^). The rapid flickering of the nuclear activity of Fornax A (~3Myr) and the gas experiencing turbulent condensation raining onto the AGN provide quantitative evidence that a recurrent, tight feeding and feedback cycle may be self-regulating the activity of FORN, in agreement with CCA simulations. To date, this is one of the most in-depth probes of such a mechanism, paving the way to apply these precise diagnostics to a larger sample of nearby AGN hosts and their multi-phase Interstellar Medium.

- We present chemical abundances of red giant branch (RGB) stars in the dwarf spheroidal (dSph) satellite system of Andromeda (M31), using spectral synthesis of medium-resolution (R~6000) spectra obtained with the KeckII telescope and Deep Imaging Multi-Object Spectrometer spectrograph via the Spectroscopic and Photometric Landscape of Andromeda's Stellar Halo survey. We coadd stars according to their similarity in photometric metallicity or effective temperature to obtain a signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) high enough to measure average [Fe/H] and [{alpha}/Fe] abundances. We validate our method using high S/N spectra of RGB stars in Milky Way globular clusters, as well as deep observations for a subset of the M31 dSphs in our sample. For this set of validation coadds, we compare the weighted average abundance of the individual stars with the abundance determined from the coadd. We present individual and coadded measurements of [Fe/H] and [{alpha}/Fe] for stars in 10 M31 dSphs, including the first [{alpha}/Fe] measurements for And IX, XIV, XV, and XVIII. These fainter, less massive dSphs show declining [{alpha}/Fe] relative to [Fe/H], implying an extended star formation history (SFH). In addition, these dSphs also follow the same mass-metallicity relation found in other Local Group satellites. The conclusions we infer from coadded spectra agree with those from previous measurements in brighter M31 dSphs with individual abundance measurements, as well as conclusions from photometric studies. These abundances greatly increase the number of spectroscopic measurements of the chemical composition of M31's less massive dwarf satellites, which are crucial to understanding their SFH and interaction with the M31 system.
