- The NEWPS catalog from WMAP 5-yr survey
- Short Name:
- J/MNRAS/392/733
- Date:

- Publisher:

- Description:
- We have analysed the efficiency in source detection and flux density estimation of blind and non-blind detection techniques exploiting the MHW2 filter applied to the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) 5-yr maps. A comparison with the AT20G bright source sample, with a completeness limit of 0.5Jy and accurate flux measurements at 20GHz, close to the lowest frequency of WMAP maps, has allowed us to assess the completeness and the reliability of the samples detected with the two approaches, as well as the accuracy of flux and error estimates, and their variations across the sky.

- Description:
- This catalog contains a list of 30239 radio sources at 1.4GHz over the declination range of -5 to +82 degrees. This catalog is based on the Green Bank 1.4GHz Northern Sky Survey (Condon and Broderick, 1986, Cat. VIII/6) which was generated using the Green Bank 300 foot (91m) telescope. The threshold for identifying a 1.4GHz radio source was set at 100mJy. The catalog data include the source name, a confusion flag, right ascension (1950), declination (1950), 1.4GHz flux, a flag to indicate if the source is extended at 20cm, 4.85GHz flux (from Becker et al., 1991, Cat. VIII/13), a flag to indicate if the source is extended at 6cm, 365MHz flux (from the Texas Survey, Douglas et al. 1980; see Cat. VIII/42)), spectral index between 6 and 20 cm, and spectral index between 20 and 80 cm. Where possible, the source name is derived from the 6cm catalog of Becker et al. 1991 (Cat. VIII/13).

- The outer Galaxy at 1420 and 408MHz
- Short Name:
- J/MNRAS/373/1203
- Date:

- Publisher:
- CDS
- Description:
- Arcminute-resolution radio continuum images at 408 and 1420MHz from the Canadian Galactic Plane Survey (CGPS) have been used to reexamine radio sources listed in the Kallas and Reich (1980A&AS...42..227K) catalogue. A sample of point sources with flat or rising spectra between 408 and 1420MHz has been compiled, and within this sample likely Gigahertz Peaked Spectrum sources have been identified.

- Description:
- Arcminute-resolution radio continuum images at 408 and 1420MHz from the Canadian Galactic Plane Survey (CGPS) have been used to construct a new catalogue of extended radio sources found near the Galactic plane in the second quadrant of our Galaxy. In addition cross-identifications are made with other major radio catalogues and information is provided to facilitate the recovery of CGPS image data associated with each catalogued source.

- The Parkes-MIT-NRAO 4.85GHz (PMN) Surveys
- Short Name:
- VIII/38
- Date:
- 21 Oct 2021
- Publisher:
- CDS
- Description:
- The PMN surveys were made using the Parkes 64-m radio telescope at a frequency of 4850 MHz with the NRAO multibeam receiver mounted at the prime focus (for a full description of the observations see Griffith & Wright, 1993, Paper I). The surveys had a spatial resolution (full width half-maximum: FWHM) of approximately 4'.2 and were made during 1990 June and November. The PMN surveys were divided into several zones. These zones are listed in the following table, together with approximate flux limits and survey areas. -------------------------------------------------------------- Zone Name DEC limits (degrees) Flux limits Area (sr) File -------------------------------------------------------------- SOUTHERN -87.5< dec <-37 20 to 50 mJy 2.50 pmns ZENITH -37 < dec <-29 72 mJy 0.67 pmnz TROPICAL -29 < dec < -9.5 42 mJy 2.01 pmnt EQUATORIAL -9.5< dec <+10.0 40 mJy 1.90 pmne --------------------------------------------------------------- a point source catalogue was compiled directly from each of the survey zones by using an optimum filter method, as described by Griffith & Wright in detail in Paper 1. In addition, a set of images was produced for each zone in a manner very similar to that used by Condon et al. for the northern survey <VIII/40> (See e.g. our Paper 4). These maps have an effective resolution (FWHM) of about 5 arcmin. For more details, refer to the publications listed below for the relevant zone.

- The Parkes quarter-Jansky flat-spectrum sample
- Short Name:
- J/A+A/386/97
- Date:
- 21 Oct 2021
- Publisher:
- CDS
- Description:
- We present a new sample of quarter-Jansky flat-spectrum radio sources selected to search for high-redshift quasars and to study the evolution of the flat-spectrum quasar population. The sample comprises 878 radio sources selected from the Parkes catalogues with spectral indices {alpha}^5GHz^_2.7GHz_>=-0.4 where S_{nu}{prop.to}{nu}^{alpha}. The sample covers all right ascensions and the declination range from -80.0{deg} to +2.5{deg}, excluding low galactic latitudes (|b|<10{deg}) and the Magellanic Cloud regions. We have obtained improved radio source positions, firstly to reconfirm the majority of the existing identifications, and secondly, using digitized sky-survey data and deep B, Gunn-i and Gunn-z CCD-imaging, to find optical identifications for 223 previously-unidentified sources. We present the final catalogue of 878 flat-spectrum sources: 827 are compact radio sources identified with galaxies, quasars and BL Lac objects, 38 have either extended radio structure or are identified with Galactic objects (PN, HII or non-compact radio source), 4 are obscured by Galactic stars, and 9 (1 per cent of the total sample) remain unidentified.

- The population of compact radio sources in ONC
- Short Name:
- J/ApJ/822/93
- Date:
- 21 Oct 2021
- Publisher:
- CDS
- Description:
- We present a deep centimeter-wavelength catalog of the Orion Nebula Cluster (ONC), based on a 30hr single-pointing observation with the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array in its high-resolution A-configuration using two 1GHz bands centered at 4.7 and 7.3GHz. A total of 556 compact sources were detected in a map with a nominal rms noise of 3{mu}Jy/bm, limited by complex source structure and the primary beam response. Compared to previous catalogs, our detections increase the sample of known compact radio sources in the ONC by more than a factor of seven. The new data show complex emission on a wide range of spatial scales. Following a preliminary correction for the wideband primary-beam response, we determine radio spectral indices for 170 sources whose index uncertainties are less than +/-0.5. We compare the radio to the X-ray and near-infrared point-source populations, noting similarities and differences.

- The QUaD Galactic Plane Survey. II.
- Short Name:
- J/ApJS/195/8
- Date:
- 21 Oct 2021
- Publisher:
- CDS
- Description:
- We present a catalog of compact sources derived from the QUaD Galactic Plane Survey. The survey covers ~800deg^2^ of the inner galaxy (|b|<4{deg}) in Stokes I, Q, and U parameters at 100 and 150GHz, with angular resolutions of 5 and 3.5 arcmin, respectively. Five hundred and twenty-six unique sources are identified in I, of which 239 are spatially matched between frequency bands, with 53 (234) detected at 100 (150)GHz alone; 170 sources are identified as ultracompact HII regions. Four sources are detected in polarized intensity P, of which three have matching counterparts in I. Three of the polarized sources lie close to the Galactic center, Sagittarius A*, Sagittarius B2, and the Galactic Radio Arc, while the fourth is RCW 49, a bright HII region. An extended polarized source, undetected by the source extraction algorithm on account of its ~0.5{deg} size, is identified visually, and is an isolated example of large-scale polarized emission oriented distinctly from the bulk Galactic dust polarization.
