Publisher:
Planetary Data System
Description:
SWIA onboard spectra files with time-ordered angle-averaged ion
energy spectra in units of differential energy flux, as computed
onboard from Coarse ion distributions, as well as a header with
ancillary information needed to interpret the spectra.
The database contains some outputs of the MCD for all the scenarios
available, at different positions of latitude and longitude. These MCD
outputs are provided as Votables containing profiles of temperatures,
pressures, density and abundances of O2 and O3 for altitudes between 0
and 249.5 km from the surface.
MCD is a database of atmospheric statistics compiled from Global Climate Model (GCM) numerical simulation of Martian atmosphere (<a href=http://www-mars.lmd.jussieu.fr>http://www-mars.lmd.jussieu.fr</a>). The GCM computes in 3D the atmospheric circulation and climate taking into account radiative transfer through the gaseous atmospheres and the dust and ice aerosols, includes a representation of the CO2 ice condensation and sublimation on the ground and in the atmosphere, simulates the water cycle (with modelling of cloud microphysics), the dust multisize particle transport, the atmospheric composition controlled by the photochemistry and the local non-condensible gas enrichment and depletion induced by CO2 condensation and sublimation, and has been extended into the thermosphere and to model ionospheric processes (due to chemistry). The database extends up to exobase (the top of the thermosphere, roughly at 300km in altitude); in addition to statistics on temperature, wind, pressure, radiative fluxes, it provides data such as atmospheric composition (including dust water vapor and ice content) and make use of 'dust and Extreme Ultra Violet (EUV) scenarios' to represent the variation of dust in the atmosphere and solar EUV conditions. Description:

at the same cadence as the EPS LoRes Spectral rate measurements. Each
file thus has a one-to-one relationship with a corresponding LoRes
spectral file.
Contains alternating current (AC) level values at the commanded
sample rate. To conserve telemetry the vector sampling will usually be
less than the maximum rate, 20 sample/s. To provide a record of the
amplitude of fluctuations for frequencies higher than 1 Hz, an AC
amplitude is calculated from the internally sampled 20/s data for the
sensor axis commanded as the AC_AXIS. Thus, in addition to the vector
samples data, a 1 Hz to 10 Hz bandpass average amplitude is evaluated
for the commanded sensor axis, selected by command, and recorded as a
log AC value with a 4-bit mantissa of the four most significant
non-zero bits and a 4-bit power of two exponent of the 4th (least
significant) bit of the mantissa. This is called the logAC value. It
is created once per second and saved for telemetry at that rate or at
the commanded science rate, whichever is less frequent.
A cumulative file for the entire mission. The purpose of the file is
to keep a time log of bursts recorded by the instrument, as well as
the number of burst packets recorded for each Burst EDR.

TITAN is a computer program for calculating the interactions of a dilute plane-parallel medium with electromagnetic radiation. It includes all atomic processes: absorption, recombination, diffusion, excitation, deexcitation of atoms and ions, heating and cooling of the gas, and it solves the radiation transfer, in order to obtain the spectra reemitted by the medium. It handles plan parallel slabs in non LTE steady state, for various physical conditions and various illuminations, valid in many astrophysical situations. It is specifically designed for warm-hot (8000 to 10**8 K) and thick media (till an electron scattering optical depth of several tens) emitting and absorbing in the X-ray range (density from 10**5 to 10**14 cm-3). It computes the physical parameters, ionisation degrees, temperature, density, and the spectrum of the radiated light in each point of the slab, by solving simultaneously the ionisation equations, the equations of statistical equilibrium, the thermal equations and the radiation transfer, using iteration processes.
Decametric radio observation from Nancay decameter array. The Nancay Decameter Array (NDA) at the Station de Radioastronomie de Nancay (SRN) is a phased array of 144 "Teepee" helicoidal antenna, half of which being Right Handed (RH) polarized and the other half being Left Handed (LH) polarized. Four receivers are currently connected to the NDA, sampling data in spectral ranges within 5 to 80 MHz.
