- We report the creation of large and well-defined database that combines extensive new measurements and a literature search of 3876 supernovae (SNe) and their 3679 host galaxies located in the sky area covered by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Data Release 8 (DR8). This database should be much larger than previous ones, and should contain a homogenous set of global parameters of SN hosts, including morphological classifications and measures of nuclear activity. Identification of the host galaxy sample is 91% complete (with 3536 SNe in 3340 hosts), of which the SDSS names of ~1100 anonymous hosts are listed for the first time. The morphological classification is available for 2104 host galaxies, including 73 (56) hosts in interacting (merging) systems. The total sample of host galaxies collects heliocentric redshifts for 3317 (~90%) galaxies. The g-band magnitudes, D_25_, b/a, and PA are available for 2030 hosts of the morphologically classified sample of galaxies. Nuclear activity measures are provided for 1189 host galaxies. We analyze and discuss many selection effects and biases that can significantly affect any future analysis of our sample. The creation of this large database will help to better understand how the different types of SNe are correlated with the properties of the nuclei and global physical parameters of the host galaxies, and minimize possible selection effects and errors that often arise when data are selected from different sources and catalogues.

- We have surveyed a complete extent of Leo A --an apparently isolated gas-rich low-mass dwarf irregular galaxy in the Local Group. The B, V, and I passband CCD images (typical seeing ~0.8") were obtained with the Subaru Telescope equipped with the Suprime-Cam mosaic camera. The wide-field (20'x24') photometry catalog of 38856 objects (V~16-26mag) is presented. This survey is also intended to serve as "a finding chart" for future imaging and spectroscopic observation programs of Leo A.

- In this article, we test the conclusion of the universality of the dark matter (DM) halo surface density {mu}_0D_={rho}_0_*r_0. According to our study, the dispersion of values of {mu}_0D_ is twice as high as that found previously by other authors. We conclude that the DM surface density and its Newtonian acceleration are not constant but correlate with the luminosity, morphological type, (B-V)_0_ colour index and content of neutral hydrogen. These DM parameters are higher for more luminous systems of early types with red colour and low gas content. We also found that the correlation of DM parameters with colour index appears to be the manifestation of a stronger relation between DM halo mass and the colour of a galaxy. This finding is in agreement with cosmological simulations. These results leave little room for the recently claimed universality of DM column density. We also found that isolated galaxies in our sample (contained in the Analysis of the interstellar Medium of Isolated GAlaxies (AMIGA) catalogue) do not differ significantly in their value of {mu}_0D_ from the entire sample. Thus, since the AMIGA catalogue gives a sample of galaxies that have not interacted with a significant mass neighbour in the past 3Gyr, the difference between systems with low and high values of {mu}_0D_ is not related to merging events during this period of time.

- The 15467 southern galaxies in this catalog were scanned from 407 blue and 407 red original ESO-Schmidt plates using a PDS microdensitometer. The galaxies were selected from the ESO-Uppsala Catalogue (VII/34). The original selection criterion was a minimum visual angular diameter of 1arcmin. The plates were calibrated using a catalog of photo- electric standards of 1700 standard galaxies transformed to a photometric standard system (Cousins) created by the authors. The result is a catalog acquired in a homogeneous fashion for all types of galaxies in various environments. The extracted parameters include radial surface brightness profiles, magnitudes at several isophotal levels, colors, color gradients, effective radius parameters, structural parameters such as axial ratios, position angles, and profile gradients. The full version of the catalog, made of 190 columns, is available as the file "esolv.fit" in FITS table format. The ascii file "esolv1.dat" contains a subset of these columns which includes those parameters listed in the printed book version. - We introduce the Survey for Ionization in Neutral Gas Galaxies (SINGG), a census of star formation in HI-selected galaxies. The survey consists of H{alpha} and R-band imaging of a sample of 468 galaxies selected from the HI Parkes All Sky Survey (HIPASS). The sample spans three decades in HI mass and is free of many of the biases that affect other star-forming galaxy samples. We present the criteria for sample selection, list the entire sample, discuss our observational techniques, and describe the data reduction and calibration methods. This paper focuses on 93 SINGG targets whose observations have been fully reduced and analyzed to date.

- We present the Team Keck Redshift Survey 2 (TKRS2), a near-infrared spectral observing program targeting selected galaxies within the CANDELS subsection of the GOODS-North Field. The TKRS2 program exploits the unique capabilities of the Multi-Object Spectrometer For Infra-Red Exploration (MOSFIRE), which entered service on the Keck I telescope in 2012 and contributes substantially to the study of galaxy spectral features at redshifts inaccessible to optical spectrographs. The TKRS2 project targets 97 galaxies drawn from samples that include z~2 emission-line galaxies with features observable in the JHK bands as well as lower-redshift targets with features in the Y band. We present a detailed measurement of MOSFIRE's sensitivity as a function of wavelength, including the effects of telluric features across the YJHK filters. The largest utility of our survey is in providing rest-frame-optical emission lines for z>1 galaxies, and we demonstrate that the ratios of strong, optical emission lines of z~2 galaxies suggest the presence of either higher N/O abundances than are found in z~0 galaxies or low-metallicity gas ionized by an active galactic nucleus. We have released all TKRS2 data products into the public domain to allow researchers access to representative raw and reduced MOSFIRE spectra.

- We present the Advanced Camera for Surveys General Catalog (ACS-GC), a photometric and morphological database using publicly available data obtained with the Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) instrument on the Hubble Space Telescope. The goal of the ACS-GC database is to provide a large statistical sample of galaxies with reliable structural and distance measurements to probe the evolution of galaxies over a wide range of look-back times. The ACS-GC includes approximately 470000 astronomical sources (stars + galaxies) derived from the AEGIS, COSMOS, GEMS, and GOODS surveys. Galapagos code (Hausler et al. 2011ASPC..442..155H) was used to construct photometric (SExtractor) and morphological (Galfit) catalogs. The analysis assumes a single Sersic model for each object to derive quantitative structural parameters. We include publicly available redshifts from the DEEP2, COMBO-17, TKRS, PEARS, ACES, CFHTLS, and zCOSMOS surveys to supply redshifts (spectroscopic and photometric) for a considerable fraction (~74%) of the imaging sample. The ACS-GC includes color postage stamps, Galfit residual images, and photometry, structural parameters, and redshifts combined into a single catalog.

- The U.S. Naval Observatory has completed the compilation of the ACT Reference Catalog, containing 988,758 stars covering the entire sky. The motivation behind the ACT was to provide accurate proper motions for the majority of the stars in the Tycho Catalogue (ESA SP-1200). To do this, positions from new reductions of the Astrographic Catalogue (AC 2000) were combined with those of Tycho. The large epoch span between the two catalogs yields proper motions about an order of magnitude more accurate than those published in the Tycho Catalogue. The astrometric data contained in the ACT Reference Catalog include positions, proper motions and error estimates. These are on the Hipparcos System (J2000.0) for epoch J2000.0. Photometric data (B and V) from Tycho are included. Additionally, cross references to the Tycho, AC 2000, Bonner Durchmusterung (BD), Cordoba Durchmusterung (CD), Cape Durchmusterung (CPD), Henry Draper (HD) and Hipparcos Catalogues are given.
