- We report extensive photometric and spectroscopic observations of the 6.1 day period, G+M-type detached double-lined eclipsing binary V530 Ori, an important new benchmark system for testing stellar evolution models for low-mass stars. We determine accurate masses and radii for the components with errors of 0.7% and 1.3%, as follows: M_A_=1.0038+/-0.0066 M_{sun}_, M_B_=0.5955+/-0.0022 M_{sun}_, R_A_=0.980+/-0.013 R_{sun}_, and R_B_=0.5873+/-0.0067 R_{sun}_. The effective temperatures are 5890+/-100 K (G1 V) and 3880+/-120 K (M1 V), respectively. A detailed chemical analysis probing more than 20 elements in the primary spectrum shows the system to have a slightly subsolar abundance, with [Fe/H]=-0.12+/-0.08. A comparison with theory reveals that standard models underpredict the radius and overpredict the temperature of the secondary, as has been found previously for other M dwarfs. On the other hand, models from the Dartmouth series incorporating magnetic fields are able to match the observations of the secondary star at the same age as the primary (~3 Gyr) with a surface field strength of 2.1+/-0.4 kG when using a rotational dynamo prescription, or 1.3+/-0.4 kG with a turbulent dynamo approach, not far from our empirical estimate for this star of 0.83+/-0.65 kG. The observations are most consistent with magnetic fields playing only a small role in changing the global properties of the primary. The V530 Ori system thus provides an important demonstration that recent advances in modeling appear to be on the right track to explain the long-standing problem of radius inflation and temperature suppression in low-mass stars.

- GPM is the newer version of the General Compiled Catalogue of Absolute Proper Motions, derived with respect to galaxies within the plan called Catalogue of Faint Stars (KSZ, Deutch, 1952, Trans. IAU, Vol. 8, 789). The programme was proposed for several observatories of the former Soviet Union, China, Rumania and Spain. There are some resulting individual catalogues of absolute proper motions of stars compiled at five observatories (Kiev, Pulkovo, Moscow, Tashkent and Shanghai). The GPM combines these catalogues and comprises absolute proper motions for 52805 stars from 8 to 15.5mag in 185 fields north of -25 degrees of declination. The size of each region is nearly 1.5 square degrees. The mean standard error of proper motion is 8 mas/yr on average. Detailed information on the construction methodology and input data can be found in (Rybka & Yatsenko, 1997KFNT...13e..70R). In addition to absolute proper motions the GPM contains accurate equatorial coordinates and three-colour B V R photometry for the vast majority of its stars (Rybka 2000KFNT...16e..60R). Additional information was selected from all available sources. Usage of the ACT catalog should provide improved positions (mostly in removing of systematic errors) and improved photometry (because the brightest stars in each GPM region had B and V magnitudes measured by the Tycho experiment on the Hipparcos satellite). The mean accuracies achived, as demonstrated by comparison with above catalogue, are 250 mas for the positions and 0.22mag for B magnitude and 0.26mag for B-V colour. The GPM gives right ascensions and declinations for equinox J2000.0 and epoch copied from available sources. They were only presented to identify the GPM stars with those from other catalogues. The compiled catalogue also presents B magnitudes and B-V colours. They were converted to be close to Johnson system. The Tycho stars were also identified in the GPM catalogue. A search area with a radius of 2 arcseconds was used to search for multiple entries of the same star, which may be appeared in the region overlap areas. The detected entries were then removed from the final catalogue. The procedure decreased the number of stars in the catalogue by about 0.4 %. The adopted catalogue organization includes data in 185 regions sorted according the KSZ region numbers. The data were then sorted nearly in right ascension order within each GPM region. All information needed to associate a point on the sky with region number and provide a more rapid access to that region are given in file region.dat.

- We present the second catalog of serendipitously discovered compact extragalactic emission-line sources-H{alpha} Dots. These objects have been discovered in searches of moderately deep narrow-band images acquired for the ALFALFA H{alpha} project. In addition to cataloging 119 new H{alpha} Dots, we also present follow-up spectral data for the full sample. These spectra allow us to confirm the nature of these objects as true extragalactic emission-line objects, to classify them in terms of activity type (star-forming or AGN), and to identify the emission line via which they were discovered. We tabulate photometric and spectroscopic data for the all objects, and we present an overview of the properties of the full H{alpha} Dot sample. The H{alpha} Dots represent a broad range of star-forming and active galaxies detected via several different emission lines over a wide range of redshifts. The sample includes H{alpha}-detected blue compact dwarf galaxies at low redshift, [OIII]-detected Seyfert 2 and Green Pea-like galaxies at intermediate redshifts, and QSOs detected via one of several UV emission lines, including Ly{alpha}. Despite the heterogeneous appearance of the resulting catalog of objects, we show that our selection method leads to well-defined samples of specific classes of emission-line objects with properties that allow for statistical studies of each class.

- We explore connections between brightest cluster galaxies (BCGs) and their host clusters. We first construct a HeCS-omnibus cluster sample including 227 galaxy clusters within 0.02<z<0.30; the total number of spectroscopic members from MMT/Hectospec and SDSS observations is 52325. Taking advantage of the large spectroscopic sample, we compute physical properties of the clusters including the dynamical mass and cluster velocity dispersion ({sigma}_cl_). We also measure the central stellar velocity dispersion of the BCGs ({sigma}_*,BCGs_) to examine the relation between BCG velocity dispersion and cluster velocity dispersion for the first time. The observed relation between BCG velocity dispersion and the cluster velocity dispersion is remarkably tight. Interestingly, the {sigma}_*,BCG_/{sigma}_cl_ ratio decreases as a function of {sigma}_cl_ unlike the prediction from the numerical simulation of Dolag+ (2010MNRAS.405.1544D). The trend in {sigma}_*,BCG_/{sigma}_cl_ suggests that BCG formation is more efficient in lower mass halos.

- We use the dense HectoMAP redshift survey to explore the properties of 104 redMaPPer cluster candidates. The redMaPPer systems in HectoMAP cover the full range of richness and redshift (0.08<z<0.60). Fifteen of the systems included in the Subaru/Hyper Suprime-Cam public data release are bona fide clusters. The median number of spectroscopic members per cluster is ~20. We include redshifts of 3547 member candidates listed in the redMaPPer catalog whether they are cluster members or not. We evaluate the redMaPPer membership probability spectroscopically. The purity (number of real systems) in redMaPPer exceeds 90% even at the lowest richness. Three massive galaxy clusters (M~2x10^13^M_{sun}_) associated with X-ray emission in the HectoMAP region are not included in the public redMaPPer catalog with {lambda}_rich_>20, because they lie outside the cuts for this catalog.

- We apply a friends-of-friends algorithm to the HectoMAP redshift survey and cross-identify associated X-ray emission in the ROSAT All-Sky Survey data (RASS). The resulting flux-limited catalog of X-ray cluster surveys is complete to a limiting flux of ~3x10^-13^erg/s/cm^2^ and includes 15 clusters (7 newly discovered) with redshifts z<=0.4. HectoMAP is a dense survey (~1200 galaxies deg^-2^) that provides ~50 members (median) in each X-ray cluster. We provide redshifts for the 1036 cluster members. Subaru/Hyper Suprime-Cam imaging covers three of the X-ray systems and confirms that they are impressive clusters. The HectoMAP X-ray clusters have an LX-{sigma}cl scaling relation similar to that of known massive X-ray clusters. The HectoMAP X-ray cluster sample predicts ~12000+/-3000 detectable X-ray clusters in RASS to the limiting flux, comparable with previous estimates.

- The High Cadence Transient Survey (HiTS) aims to discover and study transient objects with characteristic timescales between hours and days, such as pulsating, eclipsing, and exploding stars. This survey represents a unique laboratory to explore large etendue observations from cadences of about 0.1 days and test new computational tools for the analysis of large data. This work follows a fully data science approach, from the raw data to the analysis and classification of variable sources. We compile a catalog of ~15 million object detections and a catalog of ~2.5 million light curves classified by variability. The typical depth of the survey is 24.2, 24.3, 24.1, and 23.8 in the u, g, r, and i bands, respectively. We classified all point-like nonmoving sources by first extracting features from their light curves and then applying a random forest classifier. For the classification, we used a training set constructed using a combination of cross-matched catalogs, visual inspection, transfer/active learning, and data augmentation. The classification model consists of several random forest classifiers organized in a hierarchical scheme. The classifier accuracy estimated on a test set is approximately 97%. In the unlabeled data, 3485 sources were classified as variables, of which 1321 were classified as periodic. Among the periodic classes, we discovered with high confidence one {delta} Scuti, 39 eclipsing binaries, 48 rotational variables, and 90 RR Lyrae, and for the nonperiodic classes, we discovered one cataclysmic variable, 630 QSOs, and one supernova candidate.

- We have measured the relationships between HI mass, stellar mass, and star formation rate using the HI Parkes All-Sky Survey Catalog (HICAT) and the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE). Of the 3513 HICAT sources, we find 3.4{mu}m counterparts for 2896 sources (80%), and provide new WISE-matched aperture photometry for these galaxies. For our principal sample of spiral galaxies with W1<=10mag and z<=0.01, we identify HI detections for 93% of the sample. We measure lower HI-stellar mass relationships for HI-selected samples that do not include spiral galaxies with little HI gas. Our observations of the spiral sample show that HI mass increases with stellar mass with a power-law index of 0.35; however, this value is dependent on T-type, which affects both the median and the dispersion of HI mass. We also observe an upper limit on the HI gas fraction, which is consistent with a halo spin parameter model. We measure the star formation efficiency of spiral galaxies to be constant at 10^-9.57^yr^-1^+/-0.4dex for 2.5 orders of magnitude in stellar mass, despite the higher stellar mass spiral showing evidence of quenched star formation.

- The Hipparcos and Tycho Catalogues are the primary products of the European Space Agency's astrometric mission, Hipparcos. The satellite, which operated for four years, returned high quality scientific data from November 1989 to March 1993. Each of the catalogues contains a large quantity of very high quality astrometric and photometric data. In addition there are associated annexes featuring variability and double/multiple star data, and solar system astrometric and photometric measurements. In the case of the Hipparcos Catalogue, the principal parts are provided in both printed and machine-readable form (on CDROM). In the case of the Tycho Catalogue, results are provided in machine-readable form only (on CDROM). Although in general only the final reduced and calibrated astrometric and photometric data are provided, some auxiliary files containing results from intermediate stages of the data processing, of relevance for the more-specialised user, have also been retained for publication. (Some, but not all, data files are available from the Centre de Donnees astronomiques de Strasbourg.) The global data analysis tasks, proceeding from nearly 1000 Gbit of raw satellite data to the final catalogues, was a lengthy and complex process, and was undertaken by the NDAC and FAST Consortia, together responsible for the production of the Hipparcos Catalogue, and the Tycho Consortium, responsible for the production of the Tycho Catalogue. A fourth scientific consortium, the INCA Consortium, was responsible for the construction of the Hipparcos observing programme, compiling the best-available data for the selected stars before launch into the Hipparcos Input Catalogue. The production of the Hipparcos and Tycho Catalogues marks the formal end of the involvement in the mission by the European Space Agency and the four scientific consortia. For more complete and detailed information on the data, the user is advised to refer to Volume 1 ("Introduction and Guide to the Data", ESA SP-1200) of the printed Hipparcos and Tycho Catalogues. The user should also note that in order to convert the Double and Multiple Systems (Component solutions) data file hip_dm_c.dat into FITS format it is first necessary to filter the file according to whether the entry is a component record (identified by COMP in field DCM5) or a correlation record (identified by CORR in field DCM5) because of the different structures of the respective records. On a Unix system this can be achieved as follows: grep COMP hip_dm_c.dat > h_dm_com.dat grep CORR hip_dm_c.dat > h_dm_cor.dat The catalogue description file (this file) gives the relevant information for converting the main data files, including h_dm_cor.dat and h_dm_com.dat, into FITS format. The machine readable data files (i.e. those available on CD-ROM and the subset available from the CDS) contain several extra fields in addition to the data from the printed catalogue. These fields are identified by the letter `M' in the data label (e.g. the field DGM1 contains data only available in the machine readable file hip_dm_g.dat).
