- The results of a complex study of the galactic open cluster Trumpler 2 are presented. In order to obtain the proper motions, the positions of approximately 3000 stars up to the limit magnitude B~16.25mag in the area 80'x80' around the cluster were measured on 6 plates with a maximal epoch difference of 63-years. The root-mean error of the relative proper motions is 4.2mas/yr. The catalogue of BV magnitudes of all the stars in the investigated area was compiled. The selection of the cluster members within the region of R<16 arcmin from the center of the cluster was made. Altogether, 148 stars were considered to be cluster members by both astrometrical and photometrical criteria. We present the estimated age (8.91E+07) and physical parameters of the cluster and append the catalogues of the proper motions and of the photometry of the stars.

- Large-scale astrometric and photometric data bases have been used to search for and confirm stellar membership of the open cluster IC 2391. 125 stars were found that satisfied criteria for membership based on proper motion components and BRI photometry from the United States Naval Observatory B (USNO-B, Cat. <I/284>) catalogue and JHK photometry from the Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS, Cat. <II/246>) catalogue. This listing was compared with others recently published. A distance to the cluster of 147.7+/-5.5pc was found with mean proper motion components, from the Tycho2 catalogue of (-25.04+/-1.53mas/yr; +23.19+/-1.23mas/yr). A revised Trumpler classification of II3r is suggested. Luminosity and mass functions for the candidate stars were constructed and compared with those of field stars and other clusters.

- We present 1.4- and 2.5-GHz Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA) observations of the galaxy cluster A3158 (z=0.0597) which is located within the central part of the Horologium-Reticulum supercluster (HRS). Spectroscopic data for the central part of the HRS suggest that A3158 is in a dynamically important position within the supercluster and that it is moving toward the double cluster system A3125/A3128 which marks the centre of the HRS. A total of 110 radio galaxies are detected in a 35-arcmin radius about the cluster at 1.4GHz, of which 30 are also detected at 2.5GHz.

- Photographic astrometry (proper motions and accurate positions), photometry (in the photographic R and I passbands) and membership probabilities for high probability proper motion members of the clusters Alpha Persei and The Pleiades are presented, along with cross-identifications with names from previously known members in the compilation of Prosser & Stauffer (The Stauffer & Prosser Open Cluster Catalogue, priv.comm.) and their corresponding proper motion membership probabilities according to our study. The SuperCOSMOS facility at the Royal Observatory Edinburgh has (using plates from the United Kingdom Schmidt Telescope) produced complete southern sky surveys in BJ, R and I with an additional second epoch R survey. These surveys are now publicly available (Hambly et al. 2001MNRAS.326.1279H). The scanning program has now moved on to the northern hemisphere, using film and glass copies of plates taken by the Oschin Schmidt Telescope on Mount Palomar, California. These data will soon be publicly available.

- A database for the entire catalog of the Second Byurakan Survey (SBS) galaxies is presented. It contains new measurements of their optical parameters and additional information taken from the literature and other databases. The measurements were made using Ipg(near-infrared), Fpg(red) and Jpg(blue) band images from photographic sky survey plates obtained by the Palomar Schmidt telescope and extracted from the STScI Digital Sky Survey (DSS). The database provides accurate coordinates, morphological type, spectral and activity classes, apparent magnitudes and diameters, axial ratios, and position angles, as well as number counts of neighboring objects in a circle of radius 50kpc. The total number of individual SBS objects in the database is now 1676. The 188 Markarian galaxies which were re-discovered by SBS are not included in this database. We also include redshifts that are now available for 1576 SBS objects, as well as 2MASS infrared magnitudes for 1117 SBS galaxies.

- The Second Byurakan Survey (SBS) General Catalogue is presented. The SBS, a continuation of the Markarian survey reaching fainter limiting magnitudes, is the first survey which combines the search of galaxies and QSOs. A total area of 991 square degrees of the Northern sky was covered with the use of three objective prisms in combination with Schott filters. The limited magnitude on the best plates reached B~19.5. The General Catalogue consists of 3563 objects presented in two parts: a Catalogue of galaxies (1863 objects) and one of stellar objects (1700 objects). The Catalogue of SBS AGN consists of 761 objects (155 SyG, 596 QSOs, and 10 BLLac). Multi-wavelength data are presented for 1438 SBS objects identified with X-ray, IRAS and FIRST sources. Spectrophotometric observations obtained over 26 years are available for 3132 objects. Redshifts were measured for ~2100 extragalactic objects. Spectral classification is presented for ~2970 objects. The majority of the data is presented here for the first time. The Catalogue presents new large homogeneous deep representative complete samples of bright QSOs, AGNs, and faint UVX galaxies in the Northern sky. The SBS sample is found to be complete at 70% for galaxies and ~85% for AGN/QSOs with B<=17.5.

- We present trigonometric, photometric, and photographic distances to 1748 southern ({delta}{<=}O{deg}) M dwarf systems with {mu}>=0.18''/yr, of which 1404 are believed to lie within 25pc of the Sun. The stars have 6.67{<=}V_J_{<=}21.38 and 3.50{<=}(V_J_-K_S_){<=}9.27, covering the entire M dwarf spectral sequence from M0.0 V through M9.5 V. This sample therefore provides a comprehensive snapshot of our current knowledge of the southern sky for the nearest M dwarfs that dominate the stellar population of the Galaxy. Roughly one-third of the 1748 systems, each of which has an M dwarf primary, have published high quality parallaxes, including 179 from the REsearch Consortium On Nearby Stars astrometry program. For the remaining systems, we offer photometric distance estimates that have well-calibrated errors. The bulk of these (~700) are based on new V_J_R_KC_I_KC_ photometry acquired at the CTIO/SMARTS 0.9m telescope, while the remaining 500 primaries have photographic plate distance estimates calculated using SuperCOSMOS B_J_R_59F_I_IVN_ photometry. Confirmed and candidate subdwarfs in the sample have been identified, and a census of companions is included.

- We present the results of spectroscopic follow-up observations for a sample of 71 red objects with high proper motions in the range 0.08-1.14 arcsec/yr as detected using APM and SuperCOSMOS Sky Surveys (SSS) measurements of multi-epoch photographic Schmidt plates. Red objects were selected by combining the photographic BjRI magnitudes with 2MASS near-infrared JHKs magnitudes. Some 50 of the 71 spectroscopically classified objects turn out to be late-type (>M6) dwarfs and in more detail, the sample includes 35 ultracool dwarfs with spectral types between M8 and L2, some previously reported, as well as five M-type subdwarfs, including a cool esdM6 object, SSSPM J0500-5406. Distance estimates based on the spectral types and 2MASS J magnitudes place almost all of the late-type (>M6) dwarfs within 50pc, with 25 objects located inside the 25pc limit of the catalogue of nearby stars. Most of the early-type M dwarfs are located at larger distances of 100-200pc, suggesting halo kinematics for some of them. All objects with Halpha equivalent widths larger than 10 Angstroms have relatively small tangential velocities (<50km/s). Finally, some late-type but blue objects are candidate binaries.

- Results for the south Galactic cap region of the Montreal-Cambridge-Tololo survey of blue subluminous stars are presented. This region overlaps the 840 deg^2^ region studied almost three decades ago by Slettebak & Brundage (1971AJ.....76..338S). We present a list of equatorial coordinates, photographic photometry, and spectroscopic identifications, as well as finding charts, for 188 blue objects [(U-B)_pg_<=-0.6] brighter than B_pg_=16.5 in this area. Completeness of the survey and comparisons with other similar efforts are discussed.

- The SPM4 Catalog contains absolute proper motions, celestial coordinates, and B,V photometry for 103,319,647 stars and galaxies between the south celestial pole and -20 degrees declination. The catalog is roughly complete to V=17.5. It is based on photographic and CCD observations taken with the Yale Southern Observatory's double-astrograph at Cesco Observatory in El Leoncito, Argentina. The first-epoch survey, taken from 1965 to 1979, was entirely photographic. The second-epoch survey is approximately 1/3 photographic (taken from 1988 to 1998) and 2/3 CCD-based (taken from 2004 through 2008).
