- Cheung (2007, J/AJ/133/2097) identified a sample of 100 candidate X-shaped radio galaxies using the NRAO FIRST survey; these are small-axial-ratio extended radio sources with off-axis emission. Here, we present radio images of 52 of these sources that have been made from archival Very Large Array data with resolution of about 1". Fifty-one of the 52 were observed at 1.4GHz, 7 were observed at 1.4 and 5GHz, and 1 was observed only at 5GHz. We also present overlays of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey red images for 48 of the sources, and DSS-II overlays for the remainder. Optical counterparts have been identified for most sources, but there remain a few empty fields. Our higher resolution VLA images along with FIRST survey images of the sources in the sample reveal that extended extragalactic radio sources with small axial ratios are largely (60%) cases of double radio sources with twin lobes that have off-axis extensions, usually with inversion-symmetric structure. The available radio images indicate that at most 20% of sources might be genuine X-shaped radio sources that could have formed by a restarting of beams in a new direction following an interruption and axis flip. The remaining 20% are in neither of these categories.

The optical identifications of the sources were provided. 45% of these radio sources are associated with compact galaxies. A substantial fraction of these galaxies have active nuclei. - Abell 2256 is a nearby (z~0.06), rich cluster of galaxies with fascinating observed properties across a range of wavelengths. Long believed to represent a cluster merger, recent X-ray and optical results have suggested that in addition to the primary cluster and subcluster there is evidence for a third, poorer system. We present wide-field high-sensitivity 1.4GHz VLA radio observations of Abell 2256 in conjunction with optical imaging and additional spectroscopy. Over 40 cluster radio galaxies are identified, with optical spectroscopy indicating the emission source (star formation or active galactic nucleus) for most of them. While the overall fraction of galaxies exhibiting radio emission is consistent with a large sample of other nearby clusters, we find an increase in the activity level of galaxies belonging to the third system (hereafter "the Group"). Specifically, the Group has relatively more star formation than both the primary cluster and main subcluster. The position of the Group is also coincident with the observed cluster radio relic. We suggest that the Group recently (0.3Gyr) merged with the primary cluster and that this merger, not the ongoing merger of the primary and the main subcluster, might be responsible for many of the unusual radio properties of Abell 2256. Furthermore, the greater star formation activity of the Group suggests that the infall of groups is an important driver of galaxy evolution in clusters.

- We present the catalog of ~31500 extragalactic HI line sources detected by the completed Arecibo Legacy Fast ALFA (ALFALFA) survey out to z<0.06, including both high signal-to-noise ratio (>6.5) detections and ones of lower quality that coincide in both position and recessional velocity with galaxies of known redshift. We review the observing technique, data reduction pipeline, and catalog construction process, focusing on details of particular relevance to understanding the catalog's compiled parameters. We further describe and make available the digital HI line spectra associated with the cataloged sources. In addition to the extragalactic HI line detections, we report nine confirmed OH megamasers (OHMs) and 10 OHM candidates at 0.16<z<0.22 whose OH line signals are redshifted into the ALFALFA frequency band. Because of complexities in data collection and processing associated with the use of a feed-horn array on a complex single-dish antenna in the terrestrial radio frequency interference environment, we also present a list of suggestions and caveats for consideration by users of the ALFALFA extragalactic catalog for future scientific investigations.

- We present a current catalog of 21cm HI line sources extracted from the Arecibo Legacy Fast Arecibo L-band Feed Array (ALFALFA) survey over ~2800deg^2^ of sky: the {alpha}.40 catalog. Covering 40% of the final survey area, the {alpha}.40 catalog contains 15855 sources in the regions 07h30m<RA<16h30m, +04{deg}<DEC<+16{deg}, and +24{deg}<DEC<+28{deg} and 22h<RA<03h, +14{deg}<DEC<+16{deg}, and +24{deg}<DEC<+32{deg}. Of those, 15041 are certainly extragalactic, yielding a source density of 5.3 galaxies per deg^2^, a factor of 29 improvement over the catalog extracted from the HI Parkes All-Sky Survey. In addition to the source centroid positions, HI line flux densities, recessional velocities, and line widths, the catalog includes the coordinates of the most probable optical counterpart of each HI line detection, and a separate compilation provides a cross-match to identifications given in the photometric and spectroscopic catalogs associated with the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 7. Fewer than 2% of the extragalactic HI line sources cannot be identified with a feasible optical counterpart; some of those may be rare OH megamasers at 0.16<z<0.25. A detailed analysis is presented of the completeness, width-dependent sensitivity function and bias inherent of the {alpha}.40 catalog. The impact of survey selection, distance errors, current volume coverage, and local large-scale structure on the derivation of the HI mass function is assessed.

- The Arecibo L-band Feed Array (ALFA) is being used to conduct a low-Galactic latitude survey, to map the distribution of galaxies and large-scale structures behind the Milky Way through detection of galaxies' neutral hydrogen (HI) 21cm emission. This Zone of Avoidance (ZOA) survey finds new HI galaxies which lie hidden behind the Milky Way, and also provides redshifts for partially obscured galaxies known at other wavelengths. Before the commencement of the full survey, two low-latitude precursor regions were observed, totaling 138deg^2^, with 72 HI galaxies detected. Detections through the inner Galaxy generally have no cataloged counterparts in any other waveband, due to the heavy extinction and stellar confusion. Detections through the outer Galaxy are more likely to have Two Micron All Sky Survey counterparts. We present the results of these precursor observations, including a catalog of the detected galaxies, with their HI parameters.

- The Arecibo L-band Feed Array Zone of Avoidance (ALFAZOA) Shallow Survey is a blind H I survey of the extragalactic sky behind the northern Milky Way conducted with the ALFA receiver on the 305 m Arecibo Radio Telescope. ALFAZOA Shallow covered 900 square degrees at full sensitivity from 30{deg}=<l=<75{deg} and |b|=<10{deg} and an additional 460 square degrees at limited sensitivity at latitudes up to 20{deg}. It has an rms sensitivity of 5-7 mJy and a velocity resolution of 9-20.6 km/s, and detected 403 galaxies out to a recessional velocity of 12000 km/s, with an angular resolution of 3.4' and a positional accuracy between 0.2' and 1.7'. The survey is complete above an integrated line flux of F_HI_=2.0 Jy km/s for half the survey, and above F_HI_= 2.8 Jy km/s for the other half. Of the ALFAZOA H I detections, 43% have at least one possible optical/near-infrared counterpart in the literature, and an additional 16% have counterparts that only included previous H I measurements. There are fewer counterparts in regions of high extinction and for galaxies with lower H I mass. Comparing the results of the survey to the predictions of Erdogdu et al. (2006MNRAS.373...45E), and using their nomenclature, ALFAZOA confirms the position and extent in the ZOA of the C7, C{zeta}, Pegasus, Corona Borealis, and Delphinus structures, but not of the Cygnus void. Two new structures are identified, both connected to the C7 overdensity; one extends to 35{deg}, and the other crosses the ZOA.

- In external galaxies, molecular composition may be influenced by extreme environments such as starbursts and galaxy mergers. To study such molecular chemistry, we observed the luminous infrared galaxy and merger NGC 3256 using the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array. We covered most of the 3 and 1.3mm bands for a multispecies, multitransition analysis. We first analyzed intensity ratio maps of selected lines such as HCN/HCO^+^, which shows no enhancement at an active galactic nucleus. We then compared the chemical compositions within NGC 3256 at the two nuclei, tidal arms, and positions with influence from galactic outflows. We found the largest variation in SiO and CH_3_OH, species that are likely to be enhanced by shocks. Next, we compared the chemical compositions in the nuclei of NGC 3256, NGC 253, and Arp 220; these galactic nuclei have varying star formation efficiencies. Arp 220 shows higher abundances of SiO and HC_3_N than NGC 3256 and NGC 253. Abundances of most species do not show a strong correlation with star formation efficiencies, although the CH_3_CCH abundance seems to have a weak positive correlation with the star formation efficiency. Lastly, the chemistry of spiral arm positions in NGC 3256 is compared with that of W51, a Galactic molecular cloud complex in a spiral arm. We found higher fractional abundances of shock tracers, and possibly also a higher dense gas fraction in NGC 3256 compared with W51.

- We present a catalogue of ALMA flux density measurements of 754 calibrators, obtained during the majority of the ALMA science observations between 2012 August and 2017 September, for a total of 16263 observations in different bands and epochs. The flux densities were measured by reprocessing the ALMA images generated in the framework of the ALMACAL project, with a new code developed by the Italian node of the European ALMA Regional Centre. A search in the online data bases yielded redshift measurements for 589 sources (about 78 per cent of the total). Almost all sources are flat spectrum, based on their low-frequency spectral index, and have properties consistent with being blazars of different types.

- The nearby system 4C12.50, also known as IRAS 13451+1217 and PKS 1345+12, is a merger of gas-rich galaxies with infrared and radio activity. It has a perturbed interstellar medium (ISM) and a dense configuration of gas and dust around the nucleus. The radio emission at small (~100pc) and large (~100kpc) scales, as well as the large X-ray cavity in which the system is embedded, are indicative of a jet that could have affected the ISM. We carried out observations of the CO(1-0), (3-2), and (4-3) lines with the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) to determine basic properties (i.e., extent, mass, and excitation) of the cold molecular gas in this system, including its already-known wind. The CO emission reveals the presence of gaseous streams related to the merger, which result in a small (4kpc-wide) disk around the western nucleus. The disk reaches a rotational velocity of 200km/s, and has a mass of 3.8(+/-0.4)10^9^M_{sun}_. It is truncated at a gaseous ridge north of the nucleus that is bright in [OIII]. Regions with high-velocity CO emission are seen at signal-to-noise ratios of between 3 and 5 along filaments that radially extend from the nucleus to the ridge and that are bright in [O iii] and stellar emission. A tentative wind detection is also reported in the nucleus and in the disk. The molecular gas speed could be as high as 2200km/s and the total wind mass could be as high as 1.5(+/-0.1)10^9^M_{sun}_. Energetically, it is possible that the jet, assisted by the radiation pressure of the active nucleus or the stars, accelerated clouds inside an expanding bubble.
