- The AKARI Deep Field-South (ADF-S) is a ~12deg^2^ region near the South Ecliptic Pole that has been observed with deep scans in the far-infrared by the AKARI satellite. As such it is becoming one of the key extragalactic survey fields. We here present complementary observations of the ADF-S conducted by the Spitzer Space Telescope at wavelengths of 24 and 70um. We extract source catalogues at each of these wavelengths reaching depths of ~0.2mJy at 24um and ~20mJy at 70um. We also apply a K-to-24um colour criterion to select objects with galaxy-like colours in the 24-um survey. Completeness corrections as a function of flux density are derived for both catalogues by injecting artificial sources of known flux density into the maps, and we find that our surveys are 50 per cent complete at 0.26 and 24mJy at 24 and 70um, respectively.

- A catalogue of nearby UV Ceti type flare stars in (137) visual binary systems is presented in the form of two separate tables of information. The catalogue has developed from Catalogue and Bibliography of UV Cet stars (Gershberg et al., 1999, Cat. J/A+AS/139/555) and the list of nearby flare stars (Pettersen, 1991MmSAI..62..217P) by including more recent and additional information from catalogues of binary stars (WDS, Mason et al., 2001-2014, Cat. B/wds; ORB6, Hartkopf et al. 2006-2014; DM3, Mason+ 2006-2014) and data from the Catalog of Nearby Stars, Preliminary 3rd Version (Gliese et al., 1991, Cat. V/70), from Hipparcos, the New Reduction (van Leeuwen 2007, Cat. I/311) and from SIMBAD. Some issues relating to the mass, luminosity and spectrum relations of flare stars are also discussed.

- The Catalog of bright diffuse Galactic nebulae was compiled in the frame of a thesis investigating the spatial distribution and the geometrical properties of bright diffuse Galactic nebulae, together with some inquiries into the interstellar absorption problem. It is a mostly complete compilation of the knowledge about bright galactic nebulae around 1945. Global parameters derived for each nebula include a classification, the apparent dimensions, and distance estimations; the Catalog includes also extensive notes, and its bibliography covers the period 1877 to 1941.

- We present a new catalogue of 5106 infrared bubbles created through visual classification via the online citizen science website The Milky Way Project. Bubbles in the new catalogue have been independently measured b at least five individuals, producing consensus parameters for their position, radius, thickness, eccentricity and position angle. Citizen scientists - volunteers recruited online and taking part in this research - have independently rediscovered the locations of at least 86 percent of three widely used catalogues of bubbles and HII regions whilst finding an order of magnitude more objects. 29 per cent of the Milky Way Project catalogue bubbles lie on the rim of a larger bubble, or have smaller bubbles located within them, opening up the possibility of better statistical studies of triggered star formation. Also outlined is the creation of a heat map of star formation activity in the Galactic plane. This online resource provides a crowd-sourced map of bubbles and arcs in the Milky Way, and will enable better statistical analysis of Galactic star formation sites.

To eliminate these concerns, as well as to make the catalog more accessible, we have created a Web site which will contain a "living" edition of the catalog. We have also added orbital period information, as well as finding charts for novae, to the catalog. This catalogue supersedes the previous versions of 1997 (Cat. <V/94>) and 1993 (Cat. <V/79>). This version is dated February 2006, and supersedes the 2001 version (Cat. <V/110>)

- We present new central stellar velocity dispersion measurements for 428 galaxies in the Palomar spectroscopic survey of bright, northern galaxies. Of these, 142 have no previously published measurements, most being relatively late-type systems with low velocity dispersions (<~100km/s). We provide updates to a number of literature dispersions with large uncertainties. Our measurements are based on a direct pixel-fitting technique that can accommodate composite stellar populations by calculating an optimal linear combination of input stellar templates. The original Palomar survey data were taken under conditions that are not ideally suited for deriving stellar velocity dispersions for galaxies with a wide range of Hubble types. We describe an effective strategy to circumvent this complication and demonstrate that we can still obtain reliable velocity dispersions for this sample of well-studied nearby galaxies.

- The Chandra archival data is a valuable resource for various studies on different X-ray astronomy topics. In this paper, we utilize this wealth of information and present a uniformly processed data set, which can be used to address a wide range of scientific questions. The data analysis procedures are applied to 10029 Advanced CCD Imaging Spectrometer observations, which produces 363530 source detections belonging to 217828 distinct X-ray sources. This number is twice the size of the Chandra Source Catalog (Version 1.1). The catalogs in this paper provide abundant estimates of the detected X-ray source properties, including source positions, counts, colors, fluxes, luminosities, variability statistics, etc. Cross-correlation of these objects with galaxies shows that 17828 sources are located within the D_25_ isophotes of 1110 galaxies, and 7504 sources are located between the D_25_ and 2D_25_ isophotes of 910 galaxies. Contamination analysis with the log N-log S relation indicates that 51.3% of objects within 2D_25_ isophotes are truly relevant to galaxies, and the "net" source fraction increases to 58.9%, 67.3%, and 69.1% for sources with luminosities above 10^37^, 10^38^, and 10^39^erg/s, respectively. Among the possible scientific uses of this catalog, we discuss the possibility of studying intra-observation variability, inter-observation variability, and supersoft sources (SSSs). About 17092 detected sources above 10 counts are classified as variable in individual observation with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov (K-S) criterion (P_K-S_<0.01). There are 99647 sources observed more than once and 11843 sources observed 10 times or more, offering us a wealth of data with which to explore the long-term variability. There are 1638 individual objects (~2350 detections) classified as SSSs. As a quite interesting subclass, detailed studies on X-ray spectra and optical spectroscopic follow-up are needed to categorize these SSSs and pinpoint their properties. In addition, this survey can enable a wide range of statistical studies, such as X-ray activity in different types of stars, X-ray luminosity functions in different types of galaxies, and multi-wavelength identification and classification of different X-ray populations.
