The Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX), a NASA Small Explorer mission, is performing the first all-sky, deep imaging and spectroscopic ultraviolet surveys in space. The prime goal of GALEX is to study star formation in galaxies and its evolution with time.

The Institute created the Office of Public Outreach (OPO) to share the amazing discoveries of the Hubble Space Telescope with the American public. OPO programs are the focal point of public attention for a NASA/ESA space science mission to which thousands of engineers, programmers, technicians, administrators and scientists have devoted their professional gifts.
The Multimission Archive at STScI is a NASA funded project to support and provide to the astronomical community a variety of astronomical data archives, with the primary focus on scientifically related data sets in the optical, ultraviolet, and near-infrared parts of the spectrum.
