- We present a table of redshifts for 2907 galaxies and stars in the 145arcmin^2^ HST ACS GOODS-North, making this the most spectroscopically complete redshift sample obtained to date in a field of this size. We also include the redshifts, where available, in a table containing just under 7000 galaxies from the ACS area with K_s,AB_<24.5 measured from a deep K_s_ image obtained with WIRCam on the CFHT, as well as in a table containing 1016 sources with NUV_AB_<25 and 478 sources with FUV_AB_<25.5 (there is considerable overlap) measured from the deep GALEX images in the ACS area. Finally, we include the redshifts, where available, in a table containing the 1199 24um sources to 80uJy measured from the wider area Spitzer GOODS-North. The redshift identifications are greater than 90% complete to magnitudes of F435W_AB_=24.5, F850LP_AB_=23.3, and K_s,AB_=21.5, and to 24um fluxes of 250uJy. An extensive analysis of these data appear in a companion paper, but here we test the efficiency of color-selection techniques to identify populations of high-redshift galaxies and active galactic nuclei. We also examine the feasibility of doing tomography of the intergalactic medium with a 30m telescope.

- We present a UV to mid-infrared multi-wavelength catalog in the CANDELS/GOODS-S field, combining the newly obtained CANDELS HST/WFC3 F105W, F125W, and F160W data with existing public data. The catalog is based on source detection in the WFC3 F160W band. The F160W mosaic includes the data from CANDELS deep and wide observations as well as previous ERS and HUDF09 programs. The mosaic reaches a 5{sigma} limiting depth (within an aperture of radius 0.17") of 27.4, 28.2, and 29.7 AB for CANDELS wide, deep, and HUDF regions, respectively. The catalog contains 34930 sources with the representative 50% completeness reaching 25.9, 26.6, and 28.1 AB in the F160W band for the three regions. In addition to WFC3 bands, the catalog also includes data from UV (U band from both CTIO/MOSAIC and VLT/VIMOS), optical (HST/ACS F435W, F606W, F775W, F814W, and F850LP), and infrared (HST/WFC3 F098M, VLT/ISAAC Ks, VLT/HAWK-I Ks, and Spitzer/IRAC 3.6, 4.5, 5.8, 8.0{mu}m) observations. The catalog is validated via stellar colors, comparison with other published catalogs, zero-point offsets determined from the best-fit templates of the spectral energy distribution of spectroscopically observed objects, and the accuracy of photometric redshifts. The catalog is able to detect unreddened star-forming (passive) galaxies with stellar mass of 10^10^M_{sun}_ at a 50% completeness level to z~3.4 (2.8), 4.6 (3.2), and 7.0 (4.2) in the three regions. As an example of application, the catalog is used to select both star-forming and passive galaxies at z~2-4 via the Balmer break. It is also used to study the color-magnitude diagram of galaxies at 0<z<4.

- We present the first results from a 1.1mm confusion-limited map of the Great Observatories Origins Deep Survey-South (GOODS-S) taken with the AzTEC camera on the Atacama Submillimeter Telescope Experiment. We imaged 270arcmin^2^ field to a 1{sigma} depth of 0.48-0.73mJy/beam, making this one of the deepest blank-field surveys at mm-wavelengths ever achieved. Although by traditional standards our GOODS-S map is extremely confused due to a sea of faint underlying sources, we demonstrate through simulations that our source identification and number counts analyses are robust, and the techniques discussed in this paper are relevant for other deeply confused surveys. We find a total of 41 dusty starburst galaxies with signal-to-noise ratios S/N>=3.5 within this uniformly covered region, where only two are expected to be false detections, and an additional seven robust source candidates located in the noisier (1{sigma}~1mJy/beam) outer region of the map.

- These catalogs, prepared using the SExtractor package (Bertin & Arnouts 1996A&AS..117..393B), are based on the version v2.0 of the reduced, calibrated, stacked and mosaiced images acquired with HST and ACS as part of the GOODS ACS Treasury program and of the PANS program of search for Type Ia supernovae at high redshift. It supersedes the "Initial Results" version (Giavalisco et al. 2004ApJ...600L..93G, Cat. II/261) The catalogs are z-band based, that is, source detection has been made using the z-band images. A variety of photometric apertures defined during the detection process have then been used as "fixed apertures" in the i, v and b-band images to derive the multi-band photometry. The r2.0z catalog release is based on the v2.0 images, which have significantly longer total exposure times in the z850 bandpass, and somewhat longer exposure times in the i775 and V606 bands as well. The only significant difference in the catalogs, other than that of being based on deeper data, is that a small astrometric offset was applied to the declination of GOODS-North images (only), from a comparison with SDSS, 2MASS and VLA (Morrison et al. 2010, Cat. - We present the public release of the stellar mass catalogs for the GOODS-S and UDS fields obtained using some of the deepest near-IR images available, achieved as part of the Cosmic Assembly Near-infrared Deep Extragalactic Legacy Survey project. We combine the effort from 10 different teams, who computed the stellar masses using the same photometry and the same redshifts. Each team adopted their preferred fitting code, assumptions, priors, and parameter grid. The combination of results using the same underlying stellar isochrones reduces the systematics associated with the fitting code and other choices. Thanks to the availability of different estimates, we can test the effect of some specific parameters and assumptions on the stellar mass estimate. The choice of the stellar isochrone library turns out to have the largest effect on the galaxy stellar mass estimates, resulting in the largest distributions around the median value (with a semi interquartile range larger than 0.1dex). On the other hand, for most galaxies, the stellar mass estimates are relatively insensitive to the different parameterizations of the star formation history. The inclusion of nebular emission in the model spectra does not have a significant impact for the majority of galaxies (less than a factor of 2 for ~80% of the sample). Nevertheless, the stellar mass for the subsample of young galaxies (age <100Myr), especially in particular redshift ranges (e.g., 2.2<z<2.4, 3.2<z<3.6, and 5.5<z<6.5), can be seriously overestimated (by up to a factor of 10 for <20Myr sources) if nebular contribution is ignored.

- This is the third installment of the Galactic O-Star Spectroscopic Survey (GOSSS), a massive spectroscopic survey of Galactic O stars, based on new homogeneous, high signal-to-noise ratio, R~2500 digital observations selected from the Galactic O-Star Catalog. In this paper, we present 142 additional stellar systems with O stars from both hemispheres, bringing the total of O-type systems published within the project to 590. Among the new objects, there are 20 new O stars. We also identify 11 new double-lined spectroscopic binaries, 6 of which are of O+O type and 5 of O+B type, and an additional new tripled-lined spectroscopic binary of O+O+B type. We also revise some of the previous GOSSS classifications, present some egregious examples of stars erroneously classified as O-type in the past, introduce the use of luminosity class IV at spectral types O4-O5.5, and adapt the classification scheme to the work of Arias et al.

- We present a multi-epoch radio study of the Taurus-Auriga star-forming complex made with the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array at frequencies of 4.5GHz and 7.5GHz. We detect a total of 610 sources, 59 of which are related to young stellar objects (YSOs) and 18 to field stars. The properties of 56% of the young stars are compatible with non-thermal radio emission. We also show that the radio emission of more evolved YSOs tends to be more non-thermal in origin and, in general, that their radio properties are compatible with those found in other star-forming regions. By comparing our results with previously reported X-ray observations, we notice that YSOs in Taurus-Auriga follow a Gudel-Benz relation with {kappa}=0.03, as we previously suggested for other regions of star formation. In general, YSOs in Taurus-Auriga and in all the previous studied regions seem to follow this relation with a dispersion of ~1dex. Finally, we propose that most of the remaining sources are related with extragalactic objects but provide a list of 46 unidentified radio sources whose radio properties are compatible with a YSO nature.

- The Soviet orbital observatory GRANAT was launched in December 1989 and was operational till November 1998. One of the main instruments of the observatory was the French-Soviet hard X-ray coded mask telescope SIGMA (Paul et al.1 1991, Adv.Space Res., 11, 279). It was the first space telescope that used coded aperture technique for reconstruction of sky images in hard X-rays (35-1300 keV). The angular resolution of the telescope was approximately 12' and the accuracy of a source localization is approximately 2-3'.<p> SIGMA discovered numerous interesting hard X-ray sources including GRS 1758-258, which is located only 40' from bright soft X-ray source GX 5-1. It detected hard X-ray flux from X-ray burster A1742-294, which is very near to bright black hole binary 1E1740.7-2942. SIGMA set an upper limit on the hard X-ray flux of from the central supermassive black hole in our Galaxy.<p> During the period 1990-1998 SIGMA observed more that one quarter of the sky with sensitivity better than 100 mCrab. The Galactic Center region had the deepest exposure ( approximately 9 million sec), with the sensitivity to a source discovery (S/N > ~ 5) or approximately 10 mCrab.<p> A list of all detected sources with references to publications on them is presented in the paper of Revnivtsev et al. 2004, Astr. Lett. v.6. In these survey images (40-100 keV) all performed observations are averaged together. Transient sources that were discovered by SIGMA may not visible in the averaged image. <p> This survey has some features that users should keep in mind. The SIGMA telescope is a complicated instrument and is strongly dominated by the accuracy of the background subtraction. The presence of a very bright source in the field of view of the telescope sometimes cannot be fully accounted for and as a result of it some 'ghost' sources can appear. Such features can be seen in the regions near very bright sources like Crab Nebula, Cyg X-1, Nova Per 1992, Nova Mus 1991, Nova Oph 1993, and in the Galactic Center region. In addition to its nominal field of view (~17x17 deg) located around the optical axis of the telescope, SIGMA had another window of relatively high transparency of its shield, approximately 20-30&#176;; apart from the optical axis. Becuase of this a very bright sources like Cyg X-1 can cause non zero illumination of the SIGMA detector if they are located approximately 20-30&#176;; from the optical axis. The ring-like features caused by this effect, can be seen around Cyg X-1, and Nova Per 1992. <p> The count rate of detected sources (or upper limits) can be roughly translated into mCrab using the fact that that Crab nebula gives the count rate approximately 2.8e<sup>-3</sup> cnts/s in the units, provided in 'flux' maps Provenance: High Energy Astrophysics Department, Space Research Institute, Moscow, Russia; CEA, Centre d'Etudes de Saclay Orme des Merisiers, France; Centre d'Etude Spatiale des Rayonnements, Toulouse, France; F&eacute;d&eacute;ration de Recherche Astroparticule et Cosmologie Universit&eacute; de Paris, France. - Neutral hydrogen observations at 21cm, made at the Green Bank 91m telescope in 1984, 1985 and 1986, of a large sample of dwarf and other low surface brightness galaxies are presented. The majority of galaxies classified in the Uppsala General Catalogue as dwarf, irregular, Sdm, or later and with declinations north of the range of the Arecibo telescope ({delta}>38{deg}) have been observed, along with a number of galaxies farther south for flux comparisons with Arecibo observations (Schneider et al., 1990ApJS...72..245S, Paper I), totaling over 600 galaxies. About half of these galaxies have no previously published detections. In total, counting previous detections, over 80% of these late-type systems are detected at Green Bank. We have examined the galaxies for potential confusion with nearby galaxies, and we also present substantially better signal-to-noise measurements for many previously detected galaxies. Some general results of the Green Bank survey are discussed here, but the total data base of northern dwarf and low surface brightness galaxies, including new measurements of the galaxies' photographic magnitudes, will be examined in subsequent papers.
