- Spectroscopic orbits are computed for inner pairs in nine hierarchical multiple systems (HIP 19639, 60845, 75663, 76816, 78163, 78416, 80448, 84789, and HD 105080) and for one simple binary HIP 61840. All subsystems are double-lined, and their periods range from 2.27 to 30.4 days. Five spectroscopic binaries are twins with equal masses. Each hierarchical system is discussed individually, providing estimates of outer periods, masses, orbital inclination, and axial rotation. For systems with three resolved visual components (HIP 60845 and 80448), the outer and inner visual orbits are determined, complementing the description of their architecture. The radial velocities of HIP 75663A, 76816B, and 78163B are found to be variable with long periods, implying that these hierarchies are 2 + 2 quadruples. The period-eccentricity relation for spectroscopic subsystems is discussed.

- Thirteen spectroscopic orbits of late-type stars are determined from the high-resolution spectra taken with the CHIRON echelle spectrometer at the 1.5 m Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory telescope. Most (HIP 14194B, 40523A, 41171A, 51578A, 57572B, 59426A, 62852B, 66438A, 87813B, and 101472A) are inner subsystems in hierarchical multiple stars with three or four components. The periods range from 2.2 to 1131 days. Masses of the components, orbital inclinations, and projected rotation velocities are estimated, and the presence or absence of the lithium line is noted. In addition to those systems, HIP 57021 is a simple 54 day twin binary, and HIP 111598 is a compact triple-lined system with periods of 5.9 and 271 days. This object is likely old, but, nevertheless, the secondary component in the inner pair does not rotate synchronously with the orbit. The period-eccentricity diagram of 528 known inner low-mass spectroscopic subsystems (including 36 from this paper series) is given. The distribution of the inner periods is smooth, without any details around the tidal circularization period of ~10 days.

- Orbital binary stars are essential objects for determining dynamical and physical properties of stars through a combined analysis of photometric and astrometric data. We compiled a set of orbital binaries with known trigonometric parallaxes and orbits of high quality, using data from current versions of the Catalogue of Orbits and Ephemerides of Visual Double Stars and the Sixth Catalog of Orbits of Visual Binary Stars as well as including updated information from WDS and SIMBAD. We constructed distributions of orbital binaries among dynamical mass, period, semi-major axis, and eccentricity of systems, which characterize the set. Some problems related to the parameterization of orbital binaries are also discussed in the paper.

- Using large samples containing nearly 2300 active galaxies of low radio luminosity (1.4 GHz luminosity between 2x10^23^ and 3x10^25^ W/Hz, essentially low-excitation radio galaxies) at z~<0.3, we present a self-contained analysis of the dependence of the nuclear radio activity on both intrinsic and extrinsic properties of galaxies, with the goal of identifying the best predictors of the nuclear radio activity. While confirming the established result that stellar mass must play a key role on the triggering of radio activities, we point out that for the central, most massive galaxies, the radio activity also shows a strong dependence on halo mass, which is not likely due to enhanced interaction rates in denser regions in massive, cluster-scale halos. We thus further investigate the effects of various properties of the intracluster medium (ICM) in massive clusters on the radio activities, employing two standard statistical tools, principle component analysis and logistic regression. It is found that ICM entropy, local cooling time, and pressure are the most effective in predicting the radio activity, pointing to the accretion of gas cooling out of a hot atmosphere to be the likely origin in triggering such activities in galaxies residing in massive dark matter halos. Our analysis framework enables us to logically discern the mechanisms responsible for the radio activity separately for central and satellite galaxies.

- We employ SCUBA-2 (Submillimetre Common-User Bolometer Array 2) observations of the Orion A North molecular cloud to derive column density and temperature maps. We apply a novel, Hessian-based structural identification algorithm for detection of prestellar cores to these data, allowing for automated generation of the prestellar mass function. The resulting mass function is observed to peak at 1.39^+0.18^_-0.19_M_{sun}_, indicating a star-forming efficiency lower limit of ~14 per cent when compared with the Orion nebula Cluster initial mass function (IMF) peak. Additionally, the prestellar mass function is observed to decay with a high-mass power-law exponent {alpha}=2.53^+0.16^_-0.14_, indicating approximate functional similarity with the Salpeter IMF ({alpha}=2.35). This result, when combined with the results of previous investigations suggests a regional dependence of the star-forming efficiency.

- Since the onset of the "space revolution" of high-precision high-cadence photometry, asteroseismology has been demonstrated as a powerful tool for informing Galactic archeology investigations. The launch of the NASA Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) mission has enabled seismic-based inferences to go full sky-providing a clear advantage for large ensemble studies of the different Milky Way components. Here we demonstrate its potential for investigating the Galaxy by carrying out the first asteroseismic ensemble study of red giant stars observed by TESS. We use a sample of 25 stars for which we measure their global asteroseimic observables and estimate their fundamental stellar properties, such as radius, mass, and age. Significant improvements are seen in the uncertainties of our estimates when combining seismic observables from TESS with astrometric measurements from the Gaia mission compared to when the seismology and astrometry are applied separately. Specifically, when combined we show that stellar radii can be determined to a precision of a few percent, masses to 5%-10%, and ages to the 20% level. This is comparable to the precision typically obtained using end-of-mission Kepler data.

- Atmospheric parameters and oxygen abundances of 825 nearby FGK stars are derived using high-quality spectra and a non-local thermodynamic equilibrium analysis of the 777nm OI triplet lines. We assign a kinematic probability for the stars to be thin-disk (P_1_), thick-disk (P_2_), and halo (P_3_) members. We confirm previous findings of enhanced [O/Fe] in thick-disk (P_2_>0.5) relative to thin-disk (P_1_>0.5) stars with [Fe/H]<~-0.2, as well as a "knee" that connects the mean [O/Fe]-[Fe/H] trend of thick-disk stars with that of thin-disk members at [Fe/H]>~-0.2. Nevertheless, we find that the kinematic membership criterion fails at separating perfectly the stars in the [O/Fe]-[Fe/H] plane, even when a very restrictive kinematic separation is employed. Stars with "intermediate" kinematics (P_1_<0.7, P_2_<0.7) do not all populate the region of the [O/Fe]-[Fe/H] plane intermediate between the mean thin-disk and thick-disk trends, but their distribution is not necessarily bimodal. Halo stars (P_3_>0.5) show a large star-to-star scatter in [O/Fe]-[Fe/H], but most of it is due to stars with Galactocentric rotational velocity V<-200km/s; halo stars with V>-200km/s follow an [O/Fe]-[Fe/H] relation with almost no star-to-star scatter. Early mergers with satellite galaxies explain most of our observations, but the significant fraction of disk stars with "ambiguous" kinematics and abundances suggests that scattering by molecular clouds and radial migration have both played an important role in determining the kinematic and chemical properties of solar neighborhood stars.

- Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) emission has long been proposed to be a potential star formation rate indicator, as it arises from the photodissociation region bordering the Stromgren sphere of young, massive stars. We apply a recently developed technique of mid-infrared spectral decomposition to obtain a uniform set of PAH measurements from Spitzer low-resolution spectra of a large sample of star-forming galaxies spanning a wide range in stellar mass (M_*_~10^6^-10^11.4^M_{sun}_) and star formation rate (~0.1-2000M_{sun}_/yr). High-resolution spectra are also analyzed to measure [NeII]12.8{mu}m and [NeIII]15.6{mu}m, which effectively trace the Lyman continuum. We present a new relation between PAH luminosity and star formation rate based on the [NeII] and [NeIII] lines. Calibrations are given for the integrated 5-15{mu}m PAH emission, the individual features at 6.2, 7.7, 8.6, and 11.3{mu}m, as well as several mid- infrared bandpasses sensitive to PAH. We confirm that PAH emission is suppressed in low-mass dwarf galaxies, and we discuss the possible physical origin of this effect.

- We present spectroscopic stellar parameters for the complete target list of 164 evolved stars from the Pan-Pacific Planet Search, a five-year radial velocity campaign using the 3.9m Anglo-Australian Telescope. For 87 of these bright giants, our work represents the first determination of their fundamental parameters. Our results carry typical uncertainties of 100K, 0.15dex, and 0.1dex in T_eff_, logg, and [Fe/H] and are consistent with literature values where available. The derived stellar masses have a mean of 1.31_-0.25_^+0.28^M_{Sun}_, with a tail extending to ~2M_{Sun}_, consistent with the interpretation of these targets as "retired" A-F type stars.

- The MEarth survey is a search for small rocky planets around the smallest, nearest stars to the Sun as identified by high proper motion with red colors. We augmented our planetary search time series with lower cadence astrometric imaging and obtained two million images of approximately 1800 stars suspected to be mid-to-late M dwarfs. We fit an astrometric model to MEarth's images for 1507 stars and obtained trigonometric distance measurements to each star with an average precision of 5mas. Our measurements, combined with the Two Micron All Sky Survey photometry, allowed us to obtain an absolute K_s_ magnitude for each star. In turn, this allows us to better estimate the stellar parameters than those obtained with photometric estimates alone and to better prioritize the targets chosen to monitor at high cadence for planetary transits. The MEarth sample is mostly complete out to a distance of 25pc for stars of type M5.5V and earlier, and mostly complete for later type stars out to 20pc. We find eight stars that are within 10pc of the Sun for which there did not exist a published trigonometric parallax distance estimate. We release with this work a catalog of the trigonometric parallax measurements for 1507 mid-to-late M dwarfs, as well as new estimates of their masses and radii.
