- The U.S. Naval Observatory is in the process of making new reductions of the Astrographic Catalogue (AC) using a modern reference system, the ACRS, which represents the system of the FK5. The data from the San Fernando Zone, whose plates are centered between declinations -3 and -9 degrees (eq. 1900), have been analyzed for scale, rotation, tilt, coma, magnitude equation, radial distortion and distortions introduced by the use of reseaux in the Carte du Ciel program. The result is a positional catalog of over 225,000 stars on eq. J2000.0, epoch of observation. Additionally, all stars have been matched with the Tycho Input Catalog (revised); those numbers have been added for additional identification purposes.

- In the paper we report the discovery of a new variable star, called S10947 Aql, as the likely optical counterpart of RX J2009.8+1557. The optical variability pattern as well as the detected X-ray emission suggest that it is a chromospherically active binary of the RS Canum Venaticorum type. We discovered an occasional disappearance of the eclipsing minima as well as large variations in the eclipse amplitude. The present file contains the full set of measurements from the various types of the 705 photographic plates used in this investigation (note that the number of 709 given in the paper is wrong). The table file is sorted according to plate type which is listed in the first column. Given for each measurement are the Julian Date (corresponding to the time of mid-exposure) and the photographic magnitude. Uncertain measurements and/or upper limits are marked with a flag (4th column).

- This catalog contains a field of 2.8 square degrees centered on Kapteyn Selected Area 141 (l=245, b=-86). The center of field was near SAO 166815 (Bok I 174 B) at 01 05 11 -29 33 12 (1950). The covered ranges were 01 01 30 < RA < 01 09 30 and -30 20 < Dec < -28 35 (1950). Photographic V magnitudes and B-V colors of 640 stars were measured in Region I. Data were card punched at the Australian National University on an Univac 1100/82. The coordinates were determined by Kavan U. Ratnatunga from PDS scans of the region on UKSTU Schmidt plate J6657S (taken on 03-Jan-1981) and visual cross identifications were given with the published finding chart. The coordinate calibration used the positions of SAO stars. Estimated rms accuracies for the following measurements are: Visual Magnitude: 0.03 mag B-V colors : 0.05 mag Positions : 1 arc second

- The GSC II is an all-sky catalog based on 1" resolution scans of the photographic Sky Survey plates, at two epochs and three bandpasses, from the Palomar and UK Schmidt telescopes (DSS). Positions, magnitudes, and classifications are produced for all objects on each plate. The objects are then loaded into the COMPASS database, where multiple observations of the same object are matched and assigned a unique name. The GSC2.3 has no magnitude limit. The parameters of the bright objects, overexposed on the Schmidt plates, are taken from the Tycho-2 (I/259) catalog. The computed proper motions are not yet publically available because of 10mas/year systematic errors discovered for the southern hemisphere that are still under investigation.

The GSC2.2 is a preliminary version of GSC II generated to support telescope operations at the GEMINI and VLT telescopes. The magnitude limits are 18.5 in photographic F (red) or 19.5 in photographic J (blue) or V. The parameters of the bright objects, overexposed on the Schmidt plates, are taken from the Tycho-2 (I/259) catalog. The final version (GSC 2.3), expected to be released in 2002, will also contain proper motions.

Astronegatives have been digitized with an Epson Expression 10000XL commercial scanner in 16-bit grayscale with a resolution of 1200 dpi. Reduction has been performed in the LINUX-MIDAS-ROMAFOT software supplemented with additional modules. The internal positional accuracy of the reduction is 0.09...0.23" for both coordinates and 0.27...0.37m for the photographic magnitudes of the Tycho-2 catalog. - A catalogue is presented with variable (RR Lyrae, semiregular and Mira) stars located inside field #3 (PG3) of the Palomar-Groningen Survey at the outer edge of the Sagittarius dwarf galaxy. One of the semiregular variables is a carbon star, comparable with those found by Azzopardi et al. (1991A&AS...88..265A). Serendipity provides the suggestion, that their carbon stars might not be located inside, but behind the bulge on the Sagittarius dwarf galaxy.

- We present the astrometric catalogue of faint reference stars in 255deg^2^ sized fields with ICRF objects of northern hemisphere. The XC1 is based on our results of measurements and astrometric reduction of digitized images of Schmidt plates POSS-I and POSS-II sky surveys obtained from USNOFS PMM Image Archive. The Tycho-2 (Cat. <I/259>) catalogue was used as a reference catalogue for astrometric reductions. The mean positions and proper motions of stars were derived from their individual positions at the different epochs. For some stars the 2MASS (Cat. <II/246>) positions were used also. The limiting magnitude is about V=19mag. The estimated external errors are 50-150mas in positions at mean epoch, and 2-5mas/yr in proper motions, depending on magnitude. The catalog is present as a set of individual fields in separate files. The name of each file is the ERS designation of corresponding ICRF radio source.
