- Five lists of late-type stars were published in Astrophysics in 1997-2001, found in the First Byurakan Survey low-dispersion spectroscopic plates as optical identifications of unidentified IRAS sources. These identifications were carried out in the region with DE>+61 and |b|>15 with a surface of 1504deg^2^. As a result, the catalog of the Byurakan-IRAS Stars (BIS) was compiled. Its preliminary version was available at CDS since 2003, Cat. <III/237>. We have revised and updated the BIS catalog with the new data from recently published optical and infrared catalogs to give access to all available data and make possible further comparative studies of the properties of these objects. Cross-correlations of the BIS catalogue with the MAPS, USNO-B1.0 and 2MASS are made, updated SIMBAD data for the BIS objects are added, and accurate DSS1 and DSS2 positions and revised photometry are provided. The objects were checked for proper motion and variability as well. A refined classification from the Digitized First Byurakan Survey (DFBS) low-dispersion spectra was carried out. The revised and updated catalogue of 276 Byurakan-IRAS stars (BIS) is presented. The BIS catalogue can be used for a study of a complete sample of IRAS selected stars and for investigation of individual objects.

- The Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX) imaged the sky in two ultraviolet (UV) bands, far-UV (FUV, {lambda}_eff_~1528{AA}), and near-UV (NUV, {lambda}_eff_~2310{AA}), delivering the first comprehensive sky surveys at these wavelengths. The GALEX database contains FUV and NUV images, ~500 million source measurements and over 100000 low-resolution UV spectra. The UV surveys are a unique resource for statistical studies of hot stellar objects, z<~2 QSOs, star-forming galaxies, nebulae and the interstellar medium, and provide a roadmap for planning future UV instrumentation and follow-up observing programs. We present science-enhanced, "clean" catalogs of GALEX UV sources, with useful tags to facilitate scientific investigations. The catalogs are an improved and expanded version of our previous catalogs of UV sources (BCScat; Bianchi+, 2011, J/MNRAS/411/2770 ; II/312 and 2014AdSpR..53..900B). With respect to BCScat, we have patched 640 fields for which the pipeline had improperly coadded non-overlapping observations, and we provide a version with a larger sky coverage (about 10%) by relaxing the restriction to the central area of the GALEX field to 1.1{deg} diameter (GUVcat_AIS_fov055: GUVcat_AIS FOV_radius <0.55{deg}), as well as the cleaner, more restrictive version using only the 1{deg} central portion of each field as in BCScat (GUVcat_AIS_fov050: GUVcat_AIS FOV_radius <0.50{deg}). We added new tags to facilitate selection and cleaning of statistical samples for science applications: we flag sources within the footprint of extended objects (nearby galaxies, stellar clusters) so that these regions can be excluded for estimating source density. As in our previous catalogs, in GUVcat duplicate measurements of the same source are removed, so that each astrophysical object has only one entry. Such a unique-source catalog is needed to study the density and distributions of sources, and to match UV sources with catalogs at other wavelengths. The catalog includes all observations from the All-Sky Imaging Survey (AIS), the survey with the largest area coverage, with both FUV and NUV detectors exposed: over 28700 fields, made up of a total of 57000 observations ("visits"). The total area covered, when overlaps are removed and gaps are accounted for, is 24790 square degrees for GUVcat_AIS_fov055 (GUVcat_AIS_fov055) and 22125 square degrees for (GUVcat_AIS_fov050). The total numbers of "unique" AIS sources (eliminating duplicate measurements) are 82,992,086 (GUVcat_AIS_fov055) and 69,772,677 (GUVcat_AIS_fov050). The typical depth of the GUVcat_AIS catalog is FUV=19.9, NUV=20.8 AB mag.

- Between 1990 and 2010, 15 lists of late-type stars found in the low-dispersion spectroscopic plates of the First Byurakan Survey (FBS) were published. The systematic search and selection was carried out on a surface of 16000 sq.deg. on almost the whole area of the FBS. As a result, a comprehensive catalogue of the late-type stars of the FBS was generated. Its preliminary version has been available at the CDS since 2007 (Cat. III/246). We have revised and updated the FBS catalogue of late-type stars with new data from recently published optical and multiwavelength catalogues to give access to all available data and to make further comparative studies of the properties of these objects possible. We have made cross-correlations with the Digitized First Byurakan Survey (DFBS, Cat. VI/116)), the United States Naval Observatory-B1.0 catalogue (Cat. I/284), the Guide Star Catalogue 2.3.2 (Cat. I/305), Tycho-2 (Cat. I/259), Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 8 (Cat. II/306), the Two-Micron All-Sky Survey (2MASS, Cat. II/246)), the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer catalogue (WISE, Cat. II/311), the Infrared Astronomical Satellite Point Source Catalogue/Faint Source Catalogue (IRAS Catalogs II/125, II/156), the AKARI catalogue (Cat. II/297), the ROSAT Bright Source Catalogue (IX/10) and Faint Source (IX/29) Catalogues, the General Catalogue of Variable Stars (B/gcvs) and the Northern Sky Variability Survey. Also, we have added updated SIMBAD data for the objects. We present accurate Digitized Sky Survey 2 positions, approximate spectral subtypes refined from the DFBS low-dispersion spectra, luminosity classes estimated from 2MASS colours and available proper motions for 1045 FBS late-type stars. The FBS revised and updated catalogue lists a large number of completely new objects, which promise to extend very significantly the census of M giants, faint carbon stars at high Galactic latitudes and M dwarfs in the vicinity of the Sun. We study the complete samples, as well as investigating individual interesting objects up to 16.0-16.5mag in visual.

- The European Space Agency mission Gaia has published with its second data release (DR2, Cat. I/345) a catalogue of photometric measurements for more than 1.3 billion astronomical objects in three passbands. The precision of the measurements in these passbands, denoted G, G_BP_, and G_RP_, reaches down to the milli-magnitude level. The scientific exploitation of this data set requires precise knowledge on the response curves of the three passbands. This work aims for improving the exploitation of the photometric data by deriving an improved set of response curves for the three passbands, allowing for an accurate computation of synthetic Gaia photometry. This is achieved by formulating the problem of passband determination in a functional analytic formalism, and linking the photometric measurements with four observational, one empirical and one theoretical spectral library. We present response curves for G, G_BP_, and G_RP_ that differ from the previously published curves, and which provide a better agreement between synthetic Gaia photometry and Gaia observations.

- We describe our spectroscopic follow-up to the Local Group Galaxy Survey (LGGS) photometry of M31 and M33. We have obtained new spectroscopy of 1895 stars, allowing us to classify 1496 of them for the first time. Our study has identified many foreground stars, and established membership for hundreds of early- and mid-type supergiants. We have also found nine new candidate luminous blue variables and a previously unrecognized Wolf-Rayet star. We republish the LGGS M31 and M33 catalogs with improved coordinates, and including spectroscopy from the literature and our new results. The spectroscopy in this paper is responsible for the vast majority of the stellar classifications in these two nearby spiral neighbors. The most luminous (and hence massive) of the stars in our sample are early-type B supergiants, as expected; the more massive O stars are more rare and fainter visually, and thus mostly remain unobserved so far. The majority of the unevolved stars in our sample are in the 20-40M_{Sun}_ range.

- We have revised the Spitzer Wide-Area Infrared Extragalactic survey (SWIRE) Photometric Redshift Catalogue to take account of new optical photometry in several of the SWIRE areas, and incorporating Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS) and UKIRT Infrared Deep Sky Survey (UKIDSS) near-infrared data. Aperture matching is an important issue for combining near-infrared and optical data, and we have explored a number of methods of doing this. The increased number of photometric bands available for the redshift solution results in improvements both in the rms error and, especially, in the outlier rate. We have also found that incorporating the dust torus emission into the quasi-stellar object (QSO) templates improves the performance for QSO redshift estimation. Our revised redshift catalogue contains over 1 million extragalactic objects, of which 26 288 are QSOs.

- Photometric and spectroscopic analyses have shown that the Galactic bulge cluster Terzan 5 hosts several populations with different metallicities and ages that manifest as a double red horizontal branch (HB). A recent investigation of the massive bulge cluster NGC 6569 revealed a similar, though less extended, HB luminosity split, but little is known about the cluster's detailed chemical composition. Therefore, we have used high-resolution spectra from the Magellan-M2FS and VLT-FLAMES spectrographs to investigate the chemical compositions and radial velocity distributions of red giant branch and HB stars in NGC 6569. We found the cluster to have a mean heliocentric radial velocity of -48.8 km/s ({sigma}=5.3 km/s; 148 stars) and <[Fe/H]>=-0.87 dex (19 stars), but the cluster's 0.05 dex [Fe/H] dispersion precludes a significant metallicity spread. NGC 6569 exhibits light- and heavy-element distributions that are common among old bulge/inner Galaxy globular clusters, including clear (anti)correlations between [O/Fe], [Na/Fe], and [Al/Fe]. The light-element data suggest that NGC 6569 may be composed of at least two distinct populations, and the cluster's low <[La/Eu]>=-0.11 dex indicates significant pollution with r-process material. We confirm that both HBs contain cluster members, but metallicity and light-element variations are largely ruled out as sources for the luminosity difference. However, He mass fraction differences as small as {Delta}Y~0.02 cannot be ruled out and may be sufficient to reproduce the double HB.

- The outer disk of the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) is studied in order to unveil clues about its formation and evolution. Complementing our previous studies in innermost fields (3kpc<~R<~7kpc), we obtained deep color-magnitude diagrams in six fields with galactocentric distances from 5.2kpc to 9.2kpc and different azimuths. The comparison with isochrones shows that while the oldest population is approximately coeval in all fields, the age of the youngest populations increases with increasing radius. This agrees with the results obtained in the innermost fields. Low-resolution spectroscopy in the infrared CaII triplet region has been obtained for about 150 stars near the tip of the red giant branch in the same fields. Radial velocities and stellar metallicities have been obtained from these spectra. The metallicity distribution of each field has been analyzed together with those previously studied.

- We present the results of the first observations, taken with FLAMES during Science Verification, of red giant branch (RGB) stars in the globular cluster NGC 2808. A total of 137 stars was observed, of which 20 at high resolution (R=47000) with UVES and the others at lower resolution (R=19000-29000) with GIRAFFE in MEDUSA mode, monitoring ~3mag down from the RGB tip. Spectra were taken of the H{alpha}, Na I D and Ca II H and K lines.
