- We present the X-ray source catalog in the Subaru/XMM-Newton deep survey. A continuous area of 1.14deg^2^ centered at RA=02h18m and DE=-05{deg} is mapped by seven pointings with XMM-Newton covering the 0.2-10keV band. From the combined images of the EPIC pn and MOS cameras, we detect 866, 1114, 645, and 136 sources with sensitivity limits of 6x10^-16^, 8x10^-16^, 3x10^-15^, and 5x10^-15^ergs/cm^2^/s in the 0.5-2, 0.5-4.5, 2-10, and 4.5-10keV bands, respectively, with detection likelihood >=7 (corresponding to a confidence level of 99.91%). The catalog consists of 1245 sources in total including 32 extended-source candidates. The averaged logN-logS relations are in good agreement with previous results, bridging the flux range between Chandra deep surveys and brighter surveys.

- Glycolaldehyde, a sugar-related interstellar prebiotic molecule, has recently been detected in two star-forming regions, Sgr B2(N) and G31.41+0.31. The detection of this new species increased the list of complex organic molecules detected in the interstellar medium (ISM) and adds another level to the chemical complexity present in space. Besides, this kind of organic molecule is important because it is directly linked to the origin of life. For many years, astronomers have been struggling to understand the origin of this high chemical complexity in the ISM. The study of deuteration may provide crucial hints.

- We present a new sample of mid-L to mid-T dwarfs with effective temperatures of 1100-1700K selected from the UKIDSS Large Area Survey (LAS) and confirmed with infrared spectra from X-shooter/Very Large Telescope. This effective temperature range is especially sensitive to the formation history of Galactic brown dwarfs and allows us to constrain the form of the sub-stellar birth rate, with sensitivity to differentiate between a flat (stellar like) birth rate and an exponentially declining form. We present the discovery of 63 new L and T dwarfs from the UKIDSS LAS DR7, including the identification of 12 likely unresolved binaries, which form the first complete sub-set from our programme, covering 495 square degrees of sky, complete to J=18.1. We compare our results for this sub-sample with simulations of differing birth rates for objects of masses 0.10-0.03M_{sun}_ and ages 1-10Gyr. We find that the more extreme birth rates (e.g. a halo type form) can likely be excluded as the true form of the birth rate. In addition, we find that although there is substantial scatter we find a preference for a mass function, with a power-law index {alpha} in the range -1<{alpha}<0 that is consistent (within the errors) with the studies of late T dwarfs.

- By collecting optical and infrared photometry and low-resolution spectroscopy, we have identified a large number of low-mass stars and brown dwarf candidates belonging to the young cluster (~5Myr) associated with the binary star {lambda} Orionis. The lowest mass object found is an M8.5 with an estimated mass of 0.02M_{Sun}_ (~0.01M_{Sun}_ for objects without spectroscopic confirmation). For those objects with spectroscopy, the measured strength of the H{alpha} emission line follows a distribution similar to other clusters with the same age range, with larger equivalent widths for cooler spectral types.

- The low-inclination (i<80{deg}) primitive asteroid families in the inner main belt, that is, Polana-Eulalia, Erigone, Sulamitis, and Clarissa, are considered to be the most likely sources of near-Earth asteroids (101955) Bennu and (162173) Ryugu. These two primitive NEAs will be visited by NASA OSIRIS-REx and JAXA Hayabusa 2 missions, respectively, with the aim of collecting samples of material from their surfaces and returning them back to Earth. In this context, the Primitive Asteroid Spectroscopic Survey (PRIMASS) was born, with the main aim to characterize the possible origins of these NEAs and constrain their dynamical evolution. As part of the PRIMASS survey we have already studied the Polana and Erigone collisional families in previously published works. The main goal of the work presented here is to compositionally characterize the Sulamitis and Clarissa families using visible spectroscopy. We have observed 97 asteroids (64 from Sulamitis and 33 from Clarissa) with the OSIRIS instrument (0.5-0.9um) at the 10.4m Gran Telescopio Canarias (GTC). We found that about 60% of the sampled asteroids from the Sulamitis family show signs of aqueous alteration on their surfaces. We also found that the majority of the Clarissa members present no signs of hydration. The results obtained here show similarities between Sulamitis-Erigone, and Clarissa-Polana collisional families.

- List of spectral lines in the wavelength range from 668{AA} to 1611{AA} identified in SUMER (Solar Ultraviolet Measurements of Emitted Radiation, spectrograph on the spacecraft SOHO) spectra of the average quiet Sun (QS), a coronal hole (CH) and a sunspot on disk (SS). Spectral lines observed in second order of diffraction which are also given here, extend the lower wavelength limit to below 500{AA}. For each entry we give the observed wavelengths in angstrom, the identification, the transition, the peak of spectral radiance, L^peak^, in mW/(sr*m^2^*{AA}) (incl. background), and a cross-reference to other line lists available in the literature (cf., Sect. 5.1). For second-order lines radiance entries are generally not provided, since the background separation in both orders of diffraction is a non-trivial task, which can not be automated. Only a few radiance values of strong second-order lines with negligible first-order contribution are given, which are marked by an asterisk (*).

- The SOLar SPECtrum (SOLSPEC) experiment is part of the Solar Monitoring Observatory (SOLAR) payload, and has been externally mounted on the Columbus module of the International Space Station (ISS) since 2008. SOLAR/SOLSPEC combines three absolutely calibrated double monochromators with concave gratings for measuring the solar spectral irradiance (SSI) from 166nm to 3088nm. This physical quantity is a key input for studies of climatology, planetary atmospheres, and solar physics. A general description of the instrument is given, including in-flight operations and performance of the ultraviolet (UV) channel from 175nm to 340nm. We developed a range of processing and correction methods, which are described in detail. For example, methods for correcting thermal behavior effects, instrument linearity, and especially the accuracy of the wavelength and absolute radiometric scales have been validated by modeling the standard uncertainties. The deliverable is a quiet Sun UV reference solar spectrum as measured by SOLAR/SOLSPEC during the minimum of solar activity prior to cycle 24. Comparisons with other instruments measuring SSI are also presented.

- In this first paper in the SUPER GOODS series on powerfully star-forming galaxies in the two GOODS fields, we present a deep SCUBA-2 survey of the GOODS-N at both 850 and 450{mu}m (central rms noise of 0.28mJy and 2.6mJy, respectively). In the central region, the 850{mu}m observations cover the GOODS-N to near the confusion limit of ~1.65mJy, while over a wider 450arcmin^2^ region-well complemented by Herschel far-infrared imaging-they have a median 4{sigma} limit of 3.5mJy. We present >=4{sigma} catalogs of 186 850{mu}m and 31 450{mu}m selected sources. We use interferometric observations from the Submillimeter Array (SMA) and the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) to obtain precise positions for 114 SCUBA-2 sources (28 from the SMA, all of which are also VLA sources). We present new spectroscopic redshifts and include all existing spectroscopic or photometric redshifts. We also compare redshifts estimated using the 20cm/850{mu}m and the 250cm/850{mu}m flux ratios. We show that the redshift distribution increases with increasing flux, and we parameterize the dependence. We compute the star formation history and the star formation rate (SFR) density distribution functions in various redshift intervals, finding that they reach a peak at z=2-3 before dropping to higher redshifts. We show that the number density per unit volume of SFR>~500M_{sun}_/yr galaxies measured from the SCUBA-2 sample does not change much relative to that of lower SFR galaxies from UV selected samples over z=2-5, suggesting that, apart from changes in the normalization, the shape in the number density as a function of SFR is invariant over this redshift interval.
