- This catalog contains the fourteenth, fifteenth, and sixteenth sections of the 5C Cambridge survey of radio sources. This catalog reports further 408 and 1407 MHz observations of the 5C12 area (Benn et al. 1982), which were carried out with the One-Mile Telescope at Cambridge to provide more accurate positions for the 5C12 sources and to extend the 5C12 catalog. Positions and flux densities were measured for 691 sources in a 5 degree x 5 degree area near the north galactic pole. The catalog data include the serial (source) number, right ascension (B1950.0) and declination (B1950.0), rms uncertainty in 408 MHz position, peak 408 MHz flux density and rms uncertainty, effective envelope attenuation (P_eff) at 408 MHz, difference between the 408 MHz and 1407 MHz positions, rms uncertainty in 1407 MHz position, peak 1407 MHz flux density and uncertainty, envelope attenuation P at 1407 MHz and radio spectral index between 408 MHz and 1407 MHz.

- We present deep 15.7-GHz observations made with the Arcminute Microkelvin Imager (AMI) Large Array in two fields previously observed as part of the Tenth Cambridge (10C) survey. These observations allow the source counts to be calculated down to 0.1mJy, a factor of five deeper than achieved by the 10C survey. The new source counts are consistent with the extrapolated fit to the 10C source count, and display no evidence for either steepening or flattening of the counts. There is thus no evidence for the emergence of a significant new population of sources (e.g. starforming) at 15.7GHz flux densities above 0.1mJy, the flux density level at which we expect starforming galaxies to begin to contribute. Comparisons with the de Zotti et al. model and the SKADS Simulated Sky show that they both underestimate the observed number of sources by a factor of two at this flux density level. We suggest that this is due to the flat-spectrum cores of radio galaxies contributing more significantly to the counts than predicted by the models.

- We present the CdC2000 catalogue issued from the reduction of the complete Bordeaux Carte du Ciel zone observed at the beginning of last century with the Bordeaux astrograph. This catalogue is a positional catalogue of 344780 stars covering the declination zone +11{deg}<delta<+18{deg}. The average epoch of positions is 1914.7. The data are from the 512 Carte du Ciel plates archived at the Bordeaux Observatory and scanned with the APM Cambridge automatic measuring machine. Plates have been individually reduced using the TYCHO-2 Catalogue as astrometric reference. Astrometric standard errors are about 0.10" to 0.12" on positions and 0.6 magnitudes on photographic magnitudes. A detailed study of errors and a comparison of various reduction methods are presented in order to take into account the significant propagated errors from the reference catalogue. The CdC2000 provides positions at the epoch of the plates for 50 682 TYCHO-2 stars. The associated positions are proved to be 0.11" more precise than the positions given by the Tycho-2 catalogue at the epoch of the plates. This work is part of a program of proper motion measurements in the Bordeaux Carte du Ciel zone (PM2000, Cat. <I/300>).

- We present point-source catalogs for the ~2Ms exposure of the Chandra Deep Field-South (CDF-S) this is one of the two most sensitive X-ray surveys ever performed. The survey covers an area of ~436arcmin^2^ and reaches on-axis sensitivity limits of ~1.9x10^-17^ and ~1.3x10^-16^ergs/cm^2^/s for the 0.5-2.0 and 2-8keV bands, respectively. Four hundred and sixty-two X-ray point sources are detected in at least one of three X-ray bands that were searched; 135 of these sources are new compared to the previous ~1Ms CDF-S detections. Source positions are determined using centroid and matched-filter techniques; the median positional uncertainty is ~0.36". The X-ray-to-optical flux ratios of the newly detected sources indicate a variety of source types; ~55% of them appear to be active galactic nuclei, while ~45% appear to be starburst and normal galaxies. In addition to the main Chandra catalog, we provide a supplementary catalog of 86 X-ray sources in the ~2Ms CDF-S footprint that was created by merging the ~250ks Extended Chandra Deep Field-South with the CDF-S this approach provides additional sensitivity in the outer portions of the CDF-S. A second supplementary catalog that contains 30 X-ray sources was constructed by matching lower significance X-ray sources to bright optical counterparts (R<23.8) the majority of these sources appear to be starburst and normal galaxies. The total number of sources in the main and supplementary catalogs is 578. Optical R-band counterparts and basic optical and infrared photometry are provided for the X-ray sources in the main and supplementary catalogs. We also include existing spectroscopic redshifts for 224 of the X-ray sources.

- Crucial steps in the formation of stars and planets can be studied only at mid- to far-infrared wavelengths, where the Space Infrared Telescope (SIRTF) provides an unprecedented improvement in sensitivity. We will use all three SIRTF instruments (Infrared Array Camera [IRAC], Multiband Imaging Photometer for SIRTF [MIPS], and Infrared Spectrograph [IRS]) to observe sources that span the evolutionary sequence from molecular cores to protoplanetary disks, encompassing a wide range of cloud masses, stellar masses, and star-forming environments. In addition to targeting about 150 known compact cores, we will survey with IRAC and MIPS (3.6-70{mu}m) the entire areas of five of the nearest large molecular clouds for new candidate protostars and substellar objects as faint as 0.001 solar luminosities. We will also observe with IRAC and MIPS about 190 systems likely to be in the early stages of planetary system formation (ages up to about 10Myr), probing the evolution of the circumstellar dust, the raw material for planetary cores. Candidate planet-forming disks as small as 0.1 lunar masses will be detectable. Spectroscopy with IRS of new objects found in the surveys and of a select group of known objects will add vital information on the changing chemical and physical conditions in the disks and envelopes. The resulting data products will include catalogs of thousands of previously unknown sources, multiwavelength maps of about 20deg^2^ of molecular clouds, photometry of about 190 known young stars, spectra of at least 170 sources, ancillary data from ground-based telescopes, and new tools for analysis and modeling. These products will constitute the foundations for many follow-up studies with ground-based telescopes, as well as with SIRTF itself and other space missions such as SIM, JWST, Herschel, and TPF/Darwin.

- We present a new, ambitious survey performed with the Chandra X-ray Observatory of the 9.3deg^2^ Bootes field of the NOAO Deep Wide-Field Survey. The wide field probes a statistically representative volume of the universe at high redshift. The Chandra Deep Wide-field Survey exploits the excellent sensitivity and angular resolution of Chandra over a wide area, combining 281 observations spanning 15yr, for a total exposure time of 3.4Ms, and detects 6891 X-ray point sources down to limiting fluxes of 4.7x10^-16^, 1.5x10^-16^, and 9x10^-16^erg/cm^2^/s in the 0.5-7, 0.5-2, and 2-7keV bands, respectively. The robustness and reliability of the detection strategy are validated through extensive, state-of-the-art simulations of the whole field. Accurate number counts, in good agreement with previous X-ray surveys, are derived thanks to the uniquely large number of point sources detected, which resolve 65.0%+/-12.8% of the cosmic X-ray background between 0.5 and 2keV and 81.0%+/-11.5% between 2 and 7keV. Exploiting the wealth of multiwavelength data available on the field, we assign redshifts to ~94% of the X-ray sources, estimate their obscuration, and derive absorption-corrected luminosities.

- A new sample of radio sources, with the designated name CENSORS (A Combined EIS-NVSS Survey Of Radio Sources), has been defined by combining the National Radio Astronomy Observatory Very Large Array Sky Survey (NVSS) at 1.4GHz with the ESO Imaging Survey (EIS) Patch D, a 3x2deg^2^ region of sky centred at RA = 09 51 36.0, DE = -21 00 00 (J2000). New radio observations of 199 NVSS radio sources with NVSS flux densities S_1.4GHz_>7.8mJy are presented, and are compared with the EIS I-band imaging observations which reach a depth of I~23; optical identifications are obtained for over two-thirds of the ~150 confirmed radio sources within the EIS field.
