- In the present work we publish new photometric observations of the very active single giant, FK Com for the time period between the 1st of January 2002 and the 8th of July 2004. The observations have been carried out with three different automatic photometric telescopes: Phoenix 10, Wolfgang and Amadeus, all located in Arizona, USA. Observations contain measurements at the following bands: Johnson U, B and V, Cousins I and Stroemgren b and y. The observations are differential photometry in respect to the primary comparison star HD 117567.

- We report the discovery by the HATSouth network of HATS-7b, a transiting Super-Neptune with a mass of 0.120+/-0.012M_J_, a radius of 0.563_-0.034_^+0.046^R_J_, and an orbital period of 3.1853 days. The host star is a moderately bright (V=13.340+/-0.010mag, Ks=10.976+/-0.026mag) K dwarf star with a mass of 0.849+/-0.027M_{sun}_, a radius of 0.815_-0.035_^+0.049^R_{sun}_, and a metallicity of [Fe/H]=+0.250+/-0.080. The star is photometrically quiet to within the precision of the HATSouth measurements, has low RV jitter, and shows no evidence for chromospheric activity in its spectrum. HATS-7b is the second smallest radius planet discovered by a wide-field ground-based transit survey, and one of only a handful of Neptune-size planets with mass and radius determined to 10% precision. Theoretical modeling of HATS-7b yields a hydrogen-helium fraction of 18+/-4% (rock-iron core and H_2_-He envelope), or 9+/-4% (ice core and H_2_-He envelope), i.e., it has a composition broadly similar to that of Uranus and Neptune, and very different from that of Saturn, which has 75% of its mass in H_2_-He. Based on a sample of transiting exoplanets with accurately (<20%) determined parameters, we establish approximate power-law relations for the envelopes of the mass-density distribution of exoplanets. HATS-7b, which, together with the recently discovered HATS-8b, is one of the first two transiting super-Neptunes discovered in the Southern sky, is a prime target for additional follow-up observations with Southern hemisphere facilities to characterize the atmospheres of Super-Neptunes (which we define as objects with mass greater than that of Neptune, and smaller than halfway between that of Neptune and Saturn, i.e., 0.054M_J_<M_p_<0.18M_J_).

- We report the discovery of HATS-70b, a transiting brown dwarf at the deuterium burning limit. HATS-70b has a mass of M_p_=12.9_-1.6_^+1.8^ M_Jup_ and a radius of R_p_=1.384_-0.074_^+0.079^ R_Jup_, residing in a close-in orbit with a period of 1.89 days. The host star is a M_*_=1.78+/-0.12 M_{sun}_ A star rotating at vsinI_*_=40.61_-0.35_^+0.32^ km/s, enabling us to characterize the spectroscopic transit of the brown dwarf via Doppler tomography. We find that HATS-70b, like other massive planets and brown dwarfs previously sampled, orbits in a low projected-obliquity orbit with {lambda}=8.9_-4.5_^+5.6o^. The low obliquities of these systems is surprising given all brown dwarf and massive planets with obliquities measured orbit stars hotter than the Kraft break. This trend is tentatively inconsistent with dynamically chaotic migration for systems with massive companions, though the stronger tidal influence of these companions makes it difficult to draw conclusions on the primordial obliquity distribution of this population. We also introduce a modeling scheme for planets around rapidly rotating stars, accounting for the influence of gravity darkening on the derived stellar and planetary parameters.

- We report the first discovery of a multi-planetary system by the HATSouth network, HATS-59b,c, a planetary system with an inner transiting hot Jupiter and an outer cold massive giant planet, which was detected via radial velocity. The inner transiting planet, HATS-59b, is on an eccentric orbit with e=0.129+/-0.049, orbiting a V=13.951+/-0.030 mag solar-like star (M_*_=1.038+/-0.039 M_{sun}_ and R_*_=1.036+/-0.067 R_{sun}_) with a period of 5.416081+/-0.000016 days. The outer companion, HATS-59c is on a circular orbit with msini=12.70+/-0.87 M_J_ and a period of 1422+/-14 days. The inner planet has a mass of 0.806+/-0.069 M_J_ and a radius of 1.126+/-0.077 R_J_, yielding a density of 0.70+/-0.16 g/cm^3^. Unlike most planetary systems that include only a single hot Jupiter, HATS-59b,c includes, in addition to the transiting hot Jupiter, a massive outer companion. The architecture of this system is valuable for understanding planet migration.

- The {lambda} Bootis stars are a chemically peculiar subgroup of main sequence A/F stars. Several of these fall into the instability strip of the {delta} Scuti stars and the whole spectroscopic group shows a high incidence of pulsational variability. We investigated the pulsational behaviour of the {lambda} Bootis star 15 And (HD 221756) to determine as many intrinsic mode frequencies as possible for asteroseismic applications.

- WW Gem is a B-type eclipsing binary with a period of 1.2378days. The CCD photometry of this binary was performed in 2013 December using the 85cm telescope at the Xinglong Stations of the National Astronomical Observatories of China. Using the updated W-D program, the photometric model was deduced from the VRI light curves. The results imply that WW Gem is a near-contact eclipsing binary whose primary component almost fills its Roche lobe. The photometric mass ratio is q_ph_=0.48(+/-0.05). All collected times of minimum light, including two new ones, were used for the period studies. The orbital period changes of WW Gem could be described by an upward parabola, possibly overlaid by a light-time orbit with a period of P_mod_=7.41(+/-0.04)yr and a semi-amplitude of A=0.0079days(+/-0.0005days), respectively. This kind of cyclic oscillation may be attributed to the light-travel time effect via the third body. The long-term period increases at a rate of dP/dt=+3.47(+/-0.04)x10^-8^day/yr, which may be explained by the conserved mass transfer from the less massive component to the more massive one. With mass transfer, the massive binary WW Gem may be evolving into a contact binary.

- DIRECT is a project to directly obtain the distances to two Local Group galaxies, M31 and M33, which occupy a crucial position near the bottom of the cosmological distance ladder. As the first step of the DIRECT project, we have searched for detached eclipsing binaries (DEBs) and new Cepheids in the M31 and M33 galaxies with 1 m class telescopes. In this paper, we present a catalog of variable stars discovered in the data from the follow-up observations of the DEB system D33J013346.2+304439.9 in field M33A (RA=23.55{deg}, DE=30.72{deg}; J2000.0), collected with the Kitt Peak National Observatory's 2.1 m telescope. In our search covering an area of 108arcmin^2^, we have found 434 variable stars: 63 eclipsing binaries, 305 Cepheids, and 66 other periodic, possible long-period, or nonperiodic variables. Of these variables, 280 are newly discovered, mainly short-period and/or faint Cepheids. Their light curves were extracted using the ISIS image subtraction package. For 85% of the variables, we present light curves in standard V and B magnitudes, with the remaining 15% expressed in units of differential flux. We have discovered a population of first-overtone Cepheid candidates, and for eight of them we present strong arguments in favor of this interpretation. We also report on the detection of a nonlinearity in the KPNO T2KA and T1KA cameras.

For 77% of the variables we present light curves in standard V and B magnitudes, with the remaining 23% expressed in units of differential flux. We have discovered a population of first-overtone Cepheid candidates, and for six of them we present strong arguments in favor of this interpretation. The catalog of variables, as well as their photometry (about 9.2x10^4^ BV measurements) and finding charts, is available electronically via anonymous ftp and the World Wide Web. The complete set of the CCD frames is available upon request.

- We present optical and near-infrared photometry of 45 clusters of galaxies at 0.1<z<1.3. Galaxy catalogs in each cluster were defined at the longest wavelength available, generally the K band, down to approximately 2mag below M*. We include finding chart images of the band used for catalog definition. The photometry has been used in previously published papers to examine the origin and evolution of galaxies in distant clusters. Beginning in 1991, we sought to make use of the advent of relatively large format near-IR detectors to study the galaxy populations of distant clusters. We collected imaging data in both the near-IR and the optical on a large sample of clusters drawn from several samples. These data were analyzed and detailed results were presented on the evolution of early-type galaxies at moderate redshifts in Stanford, Eisenhardt, & Dickinson (1995ApJ...450..512S, 1998ApJ...492..461S), on the evolution of the K-band luminosity function in De Propris et al. (1999AJ....118..719D), on the Butcher-Oemler effect in K-selected galaxy samples in De Propris et al. (2003, ApJ, submitted), and on the evolution of early-type galaxies in high-redshift clusters in Holden et al. (2003, ApJ, in press). So far the photometry for these various studies has been published for only two clusters, Abell 370 and Abell 851 in Stanford et al. (1995ApJ...450..512S). In this paper, we present the photometry on the other 43 clusters used in our published work on distant clusters.
